    Your band concept (even just the tiny bit I’ve learned from watching your videos) has changed my life! My calves have been so knotty and painful for over a decade and now my knees and feet are out of whack. I thought my entire lower legs were one giant knot and I would just try to self massage the most painful areas but never really make any lasting progress. Just being aware of how the bands run through my legs I’ve been able to target one band and actually loosen it up a bit. It didn’t take long before my knees popped back into place. I feel like if I’ve made so much progress knowing very little, if I actually got a Brandon massage the relief would be incredible!

    • @corinicole3444
      @corinicole3444 Před rokem +2

      Hi, Raynor Massage is a fusion of different massage and bodywork modalities with some original techniques and concepts as well.
      To answer your question, Raynor Bands have some overlap with meridians in TCM (including Tui Na) and Shiatsu and sen lines in Thai Massage. However, the main difference is that Raynor Massage Bands are always palpable. As in, you should be able to feel them as you're massaging which isn't always the case with sen lines or meridians.
      Also, the pressure points he uses generally align with acupressure points and/or marma points (from Ayurveda).

    What type of "energy" are you working with and how do you quantify the quality of it? I understand the tension aspect but the rest is rather undefined and confusing for me. Charge more for better clients? Shouldn't "medical" treatments be available to those who need it?

    • @brandonraynor
      @brandonraynor  Před rokem +4

      I am not sure exactly what you mean by quantify the quality of it? Are you saying medical practitioners should work for free while everyone else like plumbers, lawyers, farmers, bus drivers etc charge for their services. I am really not sure where you are coming from? The government is controlled by the orthodox medical industry and only subsidise orthodox medical treatments not massage therapy. Why do you want massage therapists to live below the poverty line so they have to have another job to get by?

    • @brimstonefootsteps4332
      @brimstonefootsteps4332 Před rokem +5

      @@brandonraynor I never suggested that anyone should have to work for free but targeting a higher level of income does seem to leave a lot of people out. Even in western medicine poverty level individuals can find treatment. It was just the comment about charging higher prices to bring in "better customers" is what made me pause. I do believe at the end of the day a worker deserves their wages. I am still interested in what "energy" is being used to assist the patients.

      The energy is loving that I use to get rid of darker energy

    • @brandonraynor
      @brandonraynor  Před rokem +5

      I always ask my students do they want to massage as a business or as a charity or a combination. When massaging as a business we want to get the most profit. When massaging as a charity we want to help the most deserving. Most people are not inherently wealthy just to massage as a charity. Massage therapists that don’t charge enough become needy of charity and then often have to give up massaging and take on a higher paid job. Then the world loses a good massage therapist. A good charity needs a good business to pay the bills. Also many people do not appreciate something that they get for free or cheap. When they put in some hard earned money into paying for a treatment they often value the hard work that the therapist puts in more. Also it’s easier to discount from a high rate for people that need charity than to charge more for people like lawyers that earn $500 an hour

      @@brandonraynor It's nice that you reply in the comments. Your remark in the video left me scratching my head too, but I recognize that it was an off-the-cuff statement that one shouldn't analyze too deeply.
      It sounds like the idea is to charge more so that you can afford to give the client the best experience. The same reason that a steakhouse will cost more than a McDonald's or a Denny's even though they are ostensibly the the same thing (prepared meals). You don't want to be the fast food of massage.

      @brandonraynor honestly I love your work I watch it to chill out and how you've managed to make a living from this is fantastic I mean I have seen some stuff but hats off to you. You're the new uri gellar I mean do you practice or have you been doing it so long it just rolls off the tongue now. If people are willing to go along with it then it's on them. Do you ever try to push it to see how far you can go just for fun like maybe one day you rub the tailbone with an energised crystal to clear the congestion or do you just stick to your classics. Big fan

    Great game ... guess the minute the word Chakra (which is Hindi for dead cat) pops up, and see who gets closest without going over. As soon as the word comes up, the winner gets to block the channel and follow their Third Eye to the next pretend medicine channel , where the game starts over.

    • @brandonraynor

      No it’s too expensive. The government should fund such studies but unfortunately they are beholden to the global pharmaceutical industries and their drug approach to most health problems.

    I agree. Naturalistic medicine should be gatekept for the elite. We dont want any of those poors out here, taking up the time of people who are worth it.

      You obviously haven’t listened to my full talk about this. I always talk to students about whether they are doing massage as a business or massage as a charity. Business and charity have two different objectives and can work together. A good business can support a good charity. A bad business needs charity.
      From the point of view of charging I believe it’s true that if you don’t charge enough in many cases people don’t value what you do and you will get less serious customers. That’s my opinion after 35 years in business and charity.
