the only thing I got from the shop is the Endowment Direct Action Pack for pre ordering through gamestop which comes with the an emblem, calling card, and sticker. I can only use the sticker on my primary on my first class. the emblem and calling card dont even work. i can equip them and they instantly get reset to default. they even show up as locked in the emblem and calling card menus. wtf. and i have the little ceasars pack which works fine. at least that came with food irl haha. i aint buying anything else in their shitty store most likely.

Battlefield 4 had the best camo system of any FPS i've ever seen so far
in that game, camouflage patterns are unlocked across all weapons once you unlock a single camo
there's a bunch of camo patterns like ERDL, starburst, flectarn, etc, then a colour applied, like snow, autumn, desert, etc
there's also a misc category with camos that don't fit in with anything else
you unlock any single camo, it's on every single weapon and sidearm in the game
you unlock camos through battlepacks, which you EARN by levelling up, completing assignments (challenges), and by reaching 100 kills with most weapons
you can also buy battlepacks (they're basically loot boxes), but in the 3000 hours i've spent on battlefield 4, i unlocked every single camo naturally just by levelling up and doing assignments
call of duty will NEVER replicate this, because then they can't sell camos for 30$ in a shop bundle

I don’t really think there was anything wrong with the unlock tool, it didn’t harm anyone and was really just harmless so you didn’t have to waste time to get some camo from a failing franchise. But the selling for a $100 camo just makes the unlock tool seem like it’s necessary so you don’t have to waste money.
Not defending this, but I'd like to point out there was similar skin at launch I found, I think tied to maybe Gamer Advantage? IDR which bundle it was exactly, but there was a 60$ camo at launch. All that to say, the floodgates have BEEN open, and Activision will continue to push cosmetics because it rakes in hundreds of millions for them.
The $80 melee weapon skin and $100 gun weapon skin proves they are struggling and going to squeeze their Whales.
