Highly doubt they removed SBMM. The Minefield game mode probably feels easier because sweats wouldn't play that mode and casuals are drawn to the mode, which is typical for modes that are a bit wacky.
It’s been all game modes period for me pulling a 9 win loss and 3+ kd in my last games today

Well gulf war if they choose to use cold war as a basis will atleast put more emphasis on the actual SKILL of the player in SBMM not just his affinity to abuse the most agressive metas.
I pray for XDefiant's success... CoD really needs to be pressured with competition, so that they can end or at least mitigate all the BS they've been coming up with... SBMM especially!

I think they already have competition, siege has came back into play a lot most of the time it has over 100k players playing it, then there are other shooters out there, it’s the same people that play cod because it’s fast paced

The biggest and most obvious test happened on December 19, 2015. Where they fully tested AW style SBMM on us in BO3. Look it up and read how mad the community was. They reverted the changes about 12 hours later.

As someone who has played every single beta not really. That game is in a VERY broken state. And they’ve allegedly been working on it for years only to release a shit ton of imported assets from various games. It even uses the same bs engine from the Division. Like nothing about the game is new and the work shows

Sledgehammermyballs already made MW3 so good but the crappy SBMM systems and weird bundles and cross overs are whats ruining it. MW3(2023) could have been the best CoD since Bo2.

I loved the beta but I don’t want to support Activision, and the game is just way too big. 100+ GBs when I could be playing games that are much better and have smaller file sizes, Hell no I’m out! I play a variety of genres of games and having one game take up over a tenth of my storage is not happening
I don’t really think the SBMM is “turned off”. It’s just that the sweats usually only stick to the same couple of modes and don’t branch out to newer/goofier modes.

Lmao I thought the same thing.. tried doing some shotgun challenges and I was fighting actual crackheads. I don't even try that hard I just play casually but smartly and it put me in lobbies full of people locking onto my head instantly + 1 legitimate hacker lol.
It's so obvious, absolute shitfest since S3 Reloaded. Didn't have a single enjoyable lobby since the update.

I agree, I feel like they do this randomly with certain modes. I played HC Hardpoint today and went on a 24 streak and I’m not that guy. Yet in normal TDM it’s a whole different monster

I uninstalled the game months ago, but this seems like an interesting prospect. Thing is, I'm not gonna download 200GB just for 1 gamemode where SBMM can be cranked up at any point.
The matchmaking algorithm is the one that gets blamed for a lot of the issues in the game, but it is the least concerning one that is currently active in the game. I would not be surprised if somewhere down the line they make a big deal about “removing SBMM” in a bid to gain favor with the community. The fact is there are algorithms running in the game that can impact the performance of a player in real time depending on how that player is doing compared to others. I cannot stress enough how deep this really goes within the game, and anyone who thinks it isn’t happening is just stupid.
they already claimeed those algorithms in the patent arent in play in an official statement . people have already asked that for a long time.

As soon as I hit 1kd. I get a message about my playlist updating, my next 20 games I'm getting spawn trapped, lagging out and killed every which way, strange thing is, I dont even think they are legit players, none of them have a MIC and they all play like they have speed hacks and walls. I get dropped down to a very low .99kd. then it starts to level off again and i get a lobby full of normal players, all have MICs and are taking back and fourth. Its like a punishment lol.

I just checked and my stats for minefield are very similar. 3.00 W/L with a 3.95 K/d. I think that makes it pretty clear that something is happening with the SBMM here. Honestly, I might even be curious to see a poll or something of what people's Minefield stats are because this might be the only time anybody will be able to tell what their ACTUAL kill/death ratio is, instead of the ratio that's forced onto them by the matchmaking.
SBMM is so strong in MW3 if you try to play game modes you don't usually play the game doesn't know what kind of lobby to out you in because they don't ha very data for you on those modes. So it doesn't find you any games. Or you get put in games that are losing 110 to 30
They probably didnt put SBMM ir adjusted it because they didnt know how many players would play that mode. If you have SBMM and not enough players to fill lobbies its better to just have open matchmaking
Since SBMM has been a thing in COD, I've noticed that around this time of year quickplay and other modes don't have strong unbearable SBMM it's only in the popular playlists such as the the Small Map Moshpit.
They do this to slow people down grinding camos because thats usually the only thing those modes used for.
This is why you should support xdefiant even if you love cod. Competition is GOOD for all games/gamers. You can’t tell me xdefiant releasing soon didn’t play a factor in this experiment

How long does it take to find a game? Does the lobby dispanding after a game? What is your ping? How many bullets do you need to kill a player instead of the enemy.
Not only skill is a big problem in sbmm.
I’ve always been impartial to SBMM until recently, sometimes I have off days and it’s not fun to keep dying if I make the tiniest of mistakes to sweats (even if, on some days, I *am* that sweat lol)

Been playing Minefield because it makes it easier to complete the camo challenges. Just 5 more priceless challenges to go.
Also, I noticed almost immediately that I could go on bigger kill streaks in this mode. Been running gunship and swarm and man does it feel good to get big streaks again.
I've been playing call of duty for 15 years and at this point I've just stopped entirely. I'll go on for maybe 1 game after a big update, and I immediately quit after that because of how unenjoyable the game is. I refuse to run on the SBMM hamster wheel, Activision can kiss my ass.
They need to find a solution to this because I can’t even play the game. The two biggest problems are the sbmm because I get spawn trapped and face mlg pros every match ( with my skill I shouldn’t be in that hard of lobbies) seems like no matter what I do I get sweat lobbies, and the cosmetics completely kill the game. I understand a few creative and out there skins every once in a while but they’ve completely ruined the games with these superhero’s and stuff
Hardcore has something going on because I'm very much noticing my gun just not firing or doing damage when I get in gunfights. I completely stopped smoking weed and I can't believe I can't even land a kill, and weed made me suck.

It happens quite the same with hordepoint (when is available), I feel is either turned off or lowered down because I was getting tons of kills, I manage to increase my KD and I had the most fun in years.
don't know what it means but another observation is your deaths appearing on the in game scoreboard. i don't remember the last time that happened
I don’t know if this is true, but all I’ve been getting is consistent desync in every gunfight players are eating tend to 20 more bullets than they’re supposed to and then I’m dying with the average of five shots every single time and they’re firing me like they can see me on their screen to 20 frames early so skill based are not the servers still suck balls and yes, they are manipulating and they say they have this fixed and then it keeps breaking itself
I am actually coming fresh off of some VERY frustrating and sweaty Free for all matches. I’m about to hop back on and try about 10 matches and see tbh. I’ll be back.
Edit: those were some of the easiest games I’ve played in a long time. I’m definitely with you on this.

When mw2 throwback was on there i believe it was lower sbmm bc the matches was more relaxed i enjoyed it. Played this only once but will try it tomorrow
It's funny I see this video today because yesterday when I tried playing for the first time in a while, I played this mode. It seemed like.i was playing a completely different game. I immediately FELT that sbmm/eomm was turned drastically down.
It was not on Minefield for me though, its on small map mosh pit and I dropped a 3.0KD on there while trying to level up my FJX SMG lol. Never had players so clueless on how to play the game. They didnt even use any meta or shotguns. Just standards duels with no lethal or tac. Amazing experience

It's not a test, sbmm uses 10-20 matches to determine your skill, and does so separately for each game mode. With this new game mode, you're in the honeymoon 10-20 match period. Sbmm will be kicking in any time now for you in this mode. Enjoy it while you can

Yall, Hear me out, i dont think it’s turned off only on minefield because lately ive been getting high 20s to low 40s on my kill counts in every single game since a couple days ago, and it’s never been like that
i feel like 10v10 and 12v12 modes are loose on the sbmm as well. i can just join into any lobby and top the board with a 3+ kd every game
As soon as there are enough players to play that mode the match making can make it's favourite sweaty lobbies again.
feels like hc mode is core since the update the people i play with and me are all getting alot more hit markers and shots seem to be way off
even more convinced you're right after my own sample. my kd in mw3 is exactly 1.00 with a .73 win pct. 14 games into minefield my kd is 2.58 w/ a 1.33 win pct. finished first on my team 11 times in 14 games (probably finished 1st 11 times total in mw3 before that. consistently earned all my kill streaks. it didn't feel like i was just going against noobs either like it does when the sbmm gives you those easy lobbiesafter 5 rough ones. feels like a better mixed, more natural matchmaking like older cods. most importantly i wanted to keep playing....not quit and exhausted after 3 games. who knew

The problem is that Activision stopped being a game publisher and became a data collection, analytics and AI research company.
They're basically running a 1960's style psychology experiment in pain tolerance. How long can you last until you can't take it anymore, COD fans!!!

I feel the opposite since the update my kd has dropped by 1-1.2 I used to be around a 2kd now my kd has dropped to a 1 constantly in games with crimson and iridescent can’t move constantly getting shit on it ain’t fun
We should have the option to go between sbmm and without I think, but it’s awarded to help boost you back up. Still I think that defeats the purpose of it but at least it won’t make them look dumb and it’ll give us more variety and casual experiences.
It’s not that hard to get people to stop backing out of matches. You could have game modes with no SBMM and you get penalized in some way for backing out consistently.
“Am I a 4 k/d player?” Nero you really should give yourself credit. Prior to MW19 I WAS an actual 4 k/d player and I think you are capable of it. Maybe more in the 2.6-3.5 range but there is definitely the skill there. The 2.6 is only because, like me, you like to use a variety and camo grind. We are both in our 30s and have played for half our lives (you longer than me by a couple years plus I quit in CW).
I think they added minefield for the guys camo grinding launchers tbh

Seems like a lot of these temp modes don't have their matchmaking. I started using them for bloodthirsties on the interstellar grind. So much faster lol

I think Super Crank also doesn't have Sbmm, or it's very little. I've been having so much fun with this playlist and once i went back to normal matchmaking it was so atrocious I just quit mid-game, went back to super crank.

Last 2 games I've played felt the exact same as every other TDM. I dunno bro, must of changed it within the time of this video lol
It may turned down, but I doubt it's turned completely off. I think the biggest factor that is going on is something you mentioned about halfway through the video. If no one is jump shotting or slide canceling, that means no one is playing like a sweat because of all of the mines. It's forcing everyone to slow down, and sweats don't know how to do that, which is changing the game pace to something that feels old school.
I played minefield today and didnt see much of a difference in sbmm, saw a whole lot of sweats drop shotting and bunny hoping 😂

I don't think "skill" is being neglected in this matchmaking but it definitely seems to benefit (slightly) above average players heavily.
Also, quite sure this happened before when the departures/terminal playlist was live in S2. My KD went up by 0.1 in a week while it had been hard stuck for months and got absolutely pissed on the day it ended...
i think the main reason that gamemode is so much more calm and chill is due to the comm of COD not really liking to do new shit everyone knows tryhards will stay away from party game modes its just how they are so it would make sense that everyone your fighting in these types of modes is well kinda shit but tbh it could be a mix of everything they mightve toned it down a lil cause its a party mode then then the players are alr shit the tryhards dont really wanna play it and all thats left is the small community chillin on that gamemode cus if im being honest i never even thought abt playing that game mode or watching people play it until you made this video once everyone knows and starts playing it more i think that would be a true show of test to see how the game mode holds up with a variety of people playing

My experience is that I stopped playing at MW2 2022 and life is good.
The SBMM isn’t even the problem, EOMM is.
