I didn't mind it until they added dlc weapons which were hella expensive to unloac via salvage. The supply drop system was awful, took forever to earn keys
I never played the original but bought remastered. It was so good I didn’t stop playing until last year haha.

I'm so grateful I was around for CoD4 and WaW prime. Those gaming experiences will be unmatched in my memory. Looking forward to montage releases like there were blockbuster films was crazy too.

@@TecraX2better than MWII? sure. But 2019? That game has balance issues but was much more playable. Fewer bugs, better matchmaking, more stable engine. It didn't seem like the games playability went to shit with each update. MWII could've been the best COD if they just toned down the visual recoil and kept reload cancelling. They were to hell bent on adding arbitrary realism in places that didn't need it. Reload cancelling was the worst, I could live with worse slides and no slide cancelling. But being stuck in a reload animation loop was bad enough to want to quit the game.
How does Warzone or MWIII relate to any of it tho
It's more alive on ps4. There's always 1 full match of domination. And like 10 lobbies of tdm and 1 of snd. I've noticed as well people play like og players used to. I love it. I still play mwr to this day
It's no wonder you can't find a lobby with 7% of the population in a game mode, to be honest. The game's total player count on console is most likely only about 90 people.

Yea BO1 was my first COD too....those were some of the best times of my life! hearing the theme music, ice cube's voice, claymores, AUG, Famas, gillie suit, Napalm strike, etc.....almost bring me to tears

yeah man, for years we have been hoping and hoping, but I think we're all starting to realise that it's never happening. We would all be happy if they continued with what they're doing and just gave remasters for the players who want OLD COD back, but they won't even do that.

FOV for cod on console didn’t come in till Cold War. Warzone 1 was stuck at 80 though throughout till MWII and warzone 2
it was awful, can’t believe we had to til 2024 to play Rebirth on 120 FOV

I’m happy you covered this. My buddies and I only play this game for about an hour every other night. Hands down my fav cod of the last 10 years.
I subscribed to you somewhere around MWR originally when it came out in 2016, the same year I moved and went to college for some time. A lot of the time there I played MWR, and after all this time I’ve been hopping on and off from time to time. I usually play HC TDM if there are players, but I’ve made it into the top 1% percentile of players, marking me around top 5,000 players!
Sorry to brag, I just can’t believe how much time I’ve put into the game itself and it brings me back to really good times growing up, and also in college. I have (everything) unlocked, other than certain dlc gun camos and a few specifics, probably the most effort I’ve put into a game next to RDII. And other than the original two shotguns, I have all original guns from COD 4 Gold - and it feels SO rewarding!!! I also have regal I believe for everything, the rare camo that was added in the remake^
Hope you enjoy the rest of the lifespan of MWR, as it has surpassed a lot of games surprisingly to survive modern gaming lolol! And if you’re ever on Xbox, keep up the great work and would love to get in a match with you and the OG Cod creators!
The true way to “preserve” old cod is having bots.
BO1 is saved, but MW1,2 and 3 are done… MWR gets saved though.

No, you're wrong. The true way is to add it to xbox gamepass and make the game cross compatible between xbox and playstation. Or add it to both xbox gamepass and playstation plus

Hey Nero, love the channel! I am really enjoying the nostalgia videos. I started playing CoD at (the real) MW2 at the age of 30. Played and loved every CoD since then, even IW, up until 2019... Then as we all know, everything changed. I'm fine with that because I am here to tell you that the WW2 domination lobbies are AWESOME. Old school style run and gunning, people talking, friends being made. Same regulars that play nearly every day (looking at you bamamcgroovy and CANADA AT WAR). I have been playing only WW2 since 2019 and have not purchased anything else since. Hop on and see for yourself 😊

My brother and I a couple months ago popped MW2 (orig) into our Xbox Ones and played multiplayer. It was crazy and nostalgic for me (I grew up watching cod vids and only ever played them on my wii and friends consoles until 2019, when I was able to play infinite warfare & black ops 3).
Playing the older games hurts my soul because they're core games that I've been playing since 2010 (I was 6).
And you've given such great insight on these games, too. Gosh dang. Gotta give it to you, bro. I feel old as balls right now.

Dude the amount of times I played that campaign as a kid was absurd. I don’t think I’ve ever even come close to replaying a game as much I think there was one summer where I legit beat the game everyday
It’s sad how few people even acknowledge the games before cod4. So many people think the M40A3 acog damage increase was a glitch, not knowing it was intended to reference the crazy strong cod:UO scoped snipers which also one hit kill anywhere on the body.

I still play MWR and it’s definitely more active on PlayStation compared to Xbox. You can still find lobbies for: TDM, Domination, FFA, S&D & occasionally Prop Hunt.

I saw the comment yesterday as well and I can't believe how long ago it has been already while it feels like a year ago.
I have been playing Call of Duty since Call of Duty 2 and all of the amazing releases still feel like they released yesterday.
When MWR released, I was 19. I'm almost 27 now, finished college, working for almost 5 years (with already a job switch) and bought a house and getting married this year.
Insane how fast time passes these days.
I really miss the days of COD4 -> BO2. The whole Xbox 360 era of COD was amazing. Gaming in general was so good back then because everyone was pushing each other to deliver better and more of it. These days they butcher the entire game in terms aesthetics and themes but also ib terms of features and content in favour of dripfeeding and monetization.
There is also hardcore tdm lobbies and ffa & s&d lobbies during day.
To make you feel even older, I was 5 years old when COD 4 released. Now in a few weeks I will be graduating college

Yup i found your channel in 2016 with MWR. That year for COD may have been a tragedy for most players, but it was magic for me as a 14 year old that was still a naive kid
I played MW remastered on my PS5 for a month or two the end of last year and you could still easily find games on domination or TDM, was great to go back and play it again

It is a surreal feeling, heck, just today i got back on WW2 for the first time in years. Man, it brought me back. I was either an 8th grade middle schooler or a freshman in highschool when WW2 came out. Its weird to think that im now a sophomore in college.

Man this had to been the last cod I fully loved and was able to play all night. So simple and yet so fun. I didn’t even mind the new guns they added. Raven did an amazing job with the game and I am glad I was able to enjoy it the full life cycle and so sad this is where it’s kinda at now
I missed the original CoD 4, joining the daily CoD player club playing Black Ops 1 on the Nintendo Wii during MW3's year. I got a PS3 during Black Ops 2 and it was off to the races.
When MWR came around I was absolutely thrilled to play a game that I had missed. I had that Infinite Warfare poster hung on my wall until the day I left for the Army. It's insane to me that's it feels like last year when it was so long ago. Our youth has abandoned us, but we will carry those memories to the grave

Slasher was so slept on. I miss getting hammered with my friends & cousins and getting on there after hours of umg/gb matches.
I remember my dad borrowing Cod 4 from a friend to play on the PS3 in 2007 and then in 2008 he bought the game himself even though I was terrible at the game it was so much fun and the first Cod I ever played, fast forward to 2016 he asked me if I wanted the new cod and I asked "can I have the legacy edition" which included cod 4 remastered and he said sure. I spent more time playing MWR than IW although I did enjoy IW I have many memories of playing with friends who had moved on with cod but came back to play like the good old days but now if I tried to go back and play the game I'd be just as bad when I played the og in 2007 due to the fact I moved from console in 2018 to pc and im used to playing M+K, it is wild to think im still playing COD at 24 when i started at 7.
Hard to believe CoD 4 was released 16+ years ago... or that I've been watching your videos for about 11 years now... I'm still in denial I'm about to be 33 in 3 weeks tbh lol

What a time to be a gamer when OG cod4 came out. It was everywhere. Everyone played it. I remember celebs talking about leaving award shows to go play some cod lol. Greatest game of my life.
I'll say I'm extremely thankful that they remastered the original modern warfare at all, I remember playing it a little bit with my uncle when I was a kid way before I lost my vision entirely, I'm hopeful we get more remasters with great audio and hopefully actual accessibility for disabled players. Eventually. Black ops 2 is the last call of duty I was able to see, Black ops 3. Is the first one I played completely without vision. I think now I've spent more time as a call of duty player blind than I had vision. Crazy to think about

With the field of view, I'm the same way. When I play Destiny 2, I play at 100 FOV, but when I jump back to Destiny 1, the FOV is the default number (Whichever that was) and in just 5 minutes, my head really starts to hurt because everything on screen is so close again. Lol

I recently redownloaded COD WW2, and let me tell ya, there's still great unhacked lobbies in TDM! Never had so much fun going back to a COD since I went back to BO2
