    Superb review player man ! The 308 is now a kind of underdog car but it deserves imho better as it has a lot of qualities.

    A hire company assigned one these to me last year. Have driven usual suspects: Merc/Audi/BMW, but this car stood out in terms of simplicity and handling. Given family health issues, bought one so I can Zap off to West Country. Very chilled motor. The 1.5 oil burner has more beans than you’ll expect too :)

    The parcel shelf is necessary, it stops parasites from seeing what you have in the boot, its simple and it works (It also makes the car quieter). My 308 Mk2 SW is brilliant.

      @@petarmaksimovic4048 Why HDI?

    • @petarmaksimovic4048
      @petarmaksimovic4048 Před 3 lety +1

      @@jerryrawlings8885 Because PSA modern petrol engines are very problematic, mostly problems surrounding timing chains premature sudden fails and taking lots of expensive major components with them in the process. Sometimes to an extend of a complete engine write-off since they are alluminium block and difficult to rebuild. Since PSA stopped supplying their cars with trusty old naturally aspirated 1.6 and 2.0 pre THP engines (which were developed in cooperation with BMW and puretech is based on) the only trusty option now is to go with HDi engines which are more than 20 years around and have proven themselves as one of the best common rail diesel engines around that can last forever with proper servicing.

    • @petarmaksimovic4048
      @petarmaksimovic4048 Před 3 lety +1

      @@jerryrawlings8885 If you are buying new and planning to own it only as long as the warranty runs I'd say you shouldn't worry about it much, but if you are planning on owning it long term then HDI is better option. HDI doesn't have a chain, it has a regular timing belt that almost never fails under normal usage and it's first service interval is at 170000km and is cheap and easy to service. 1.6 120 BlueHDI is a good proven one on a cheaper side. 1.5 130 BlueHDI is a rather new block, thou probably derived from the former, but I don't know anything about it because it's so new.

    I just bought a 2020 208 a week ago and I can tell you they still need to improve on similar things to this car. They’re really bad with the glove box when switching it from right to left it’s tiny! The touch display screen is also shocking when the sun is on it you can’t see anything. On the other hand also love the new steering wheel and the brand new cockpit features. Definitely a step up from the previous 208
