- We are back with more Montreal Expos Dynasty as we get into the 2nd half of the year and first reveal the rookie ratings, then talk about the All star break and trade deadline. Today we have to make a move to shape our future especially with the age of our MLB roster being older, and giving our younger guys opportunities down the stretch to prove themselves at the MLB level.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THE SERIES!! Here’s my long ass suggestion lmao….I wish you could’ve picked up the guy hyped to be the next Aaron judge due to tangibles and size in New York Yankees. 6”7 Spencer jones!! (I don’t recall name fully just know his last name is jones) He’s far off to be considered even slight glimpses of that. But he’s been compared in real life. I think him and all that overlooked yet good potential players you’ve been compiling! Jones and hedger make a low tier prime trout and ohtani which is good for an expansion team. Even though that would overcrowd the outfield it’s overly unrealistic. I think also in the offseason try to sign a good pitcher not the 85-90+ ovr. Ones like strider or cease but like a Chris paddack caliber. 27 yr old I think he’s a 82-3. In his career (padres fan btw) he was lights out. Got traded 4 years ago and hasn’t faired well til last year he was good. Bullpen bullpen bullpen is the key in free agency. You get that good it’ll keep runs low while the youth develops and may surprise you in pulling in some wins. Find some stop gap players to fill in where youth is a year or 2 out of mlb ready. Like 2B Jonathan India or Brendon Rodgers from Rockies. They could also be long term options. There’s a lot of interesting opportunities due to no one being a TRUE set cornerstone.
Yeah I plan to be active in free agency for sure and also keeping it realistic. For the most part, starting pitching is the biggest need so I will be looking for that. Paddack I had in my last series so I will be going after new guys, but guys around his caliber will be targets for sure
@@TnJonCZcams I agree a 100%. Getting a little in each pitching category is needed in free agency to stabilize a lackluster bullpen. Humble beginnings lol slowly but surely you’re creating a dynasty. Can’t wait to see what happens next. ILook into jones. He’s nice. Since Yankees traded a haul of youth to padres in real life for Soto (hate we got rid of him but I get it didn’t work out as well as we thought) I don’t see it too unrealistic to trade them back a little youth (maybe one of the rookies you just drafted that isn’t going to fit the expos long term) and some bench for him to replenish there farm system as well as German Marquez who’s been injured alot. The kids going to be a DAWG in real life when Aaron judge gets too old or traded.
A bit of a tough draft after all I really thought Nunez was gonna have more upside. Hedger having such a good bat already though dispite his potential is a good sign, real opportunity for him get raise it to. Brooks could be deadly, him being 23 already is not ideal but he still has plenty of time to reach that potential looking forward to the Gary duo tearing it up. I like the trades for the future sake of the team should help down the line for sure. Overall a very mid draft but with some crazy potential upside next year though it looks like theres a possiblity we come out with a top 3 pick so we still have chances to pick up the future of the team
Not dogging your drafting abilities or anything. I watched Fiend Franchise and how he does his draft strategies and dude, his strategy is NICE. I highly recommend you check him out, discovery can be clutch as fuck and it’s severely underrated.

A grade of B-minus seems pretty generous for that Expos draft class. The only guy with 90+ potential is 23 years old and so low-rated he may never reach MLB. Yikes 😬 I bet you’ll do better next time but this one feels like a big whiff

Idk in real life if you can get multiple guys who make the majors and contribute, that’s a good draft. And there’s at least two in this one that can contribute
I give the draft like a C because that was everybody potential frfr if any of them work they way into a B potential by seasons end some of higher 70 potentials id say C+ or B-

God, I hate the AI trade logic. The Tigers are a team on the Rise and they say “let’s trade our 23 year old CF who’s playing great!” I don’t get it. Waaaaaaay too many times have I seen the tigers trade Torkelson and Greene

Honest question why don’t you put your team in the best position possible? It’s like you always trade for 60-72 overall players that don’t work out
I mean, to start the franchise and make it a true rebuild from nothing starts with gambling on potential prospects. He’s not in a win now situation so it makes sense to aim for year 3-5 to make a playoff bid

@@peaxegod8978 I mean, there was no chance for him to get that 99 in this draft. Draft order is always pre-determined on last years record (correct me if I’m wrong). And drafting is always a gamble. I had 2 scouted 85-95 potential 1Bs in a draft at 18 and 19 and both ended at >65. It’s luck of the draw sometimes
