@TechX I just bought used xbox one original and it has 500gb hard drive I just order Samsung 1tb ssd 860 evo how do I clone the old hard drive to my 1tb ssd ?
As of April you can no longer void a warranty by opening or having a third party open your console. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo all rewrote their warranty policies.
I'm using a Samsung T5 500gb as a game drive, attached via USB, on the Xbox X. Anthem load times reduced from 2 mins 20 to 1 min 8. Popping in game not seen yet. Console temperature rise apparent and fan noise increases.
Yes most things are instant. The factory reset used to take 2 or so minutes with a sandisk ssd plus 1tb it is less than 15 seconds. Game uninstalls are also within 5 seconds. Updates are insanely faster once downloaded. The gui finally feels nice and is very responsive.
Yes in fact my personal opinion is that the OS is the most noticeable change when installing the SSD. Bear in mind the original HDD will over time become fragmented and I am unaware of any defragmentation that the Xbox performs itself. I see many people advising others not to take the console apart and just use it externally but if you're going to spend £100-£400 on an SSD it's better to get the full value out of it and smoothen up the OS at the same time.
how did you switch the internal HDD to the SSD, did you do by the linux way ? wanted to change my internal with a 2TB SSD but Xbox one Locked it down by having a Software ?
Bigkyfan10 Yeah i replaced my internal HDD with an SSD. I've seen better loading times in numerous games like jumping into match quickly in Ranbow Six Siege, Battlefield 1, Cod ww2 and offline Games loading faster Fallout 4, Rise of tomb raider, Forza Motorsports and NFS Payback.
As long as the SSD is installed internally and not externally through USB. I watched a bunch of vids on CZcams with SSD upgrades (internally) and the load times are cut down to half or even less than half. I'm really tempted to do this.
Thanks for making this video
I'd like to see games like Witcher 3, AC:Origins and games with a lot of fast travel that should give you and excellent idea
Nice vid! Thanks

Internal ssd vs external ssd? is there a big difference?
Now the really interesting comparison would be internal SSD vs. Stock HDD+external SSD since that can be done without voiding warranty...

Not in Europe I think...
Would love to see this comparison

Is OS more responsive on ssd?
been searching for this answer as well. can't seem to find out

Steven Mincer thank you for this. Have been trying to find an answer about OS as well.

It been some time from my comment, few month ago I did switch to SSD, using now Xbox become more comfortable.
how did you switch the internal HDD to the SSD, did you do by the linux way ?

Thats a lot simple TBH then the linux way might have to do it one day
The ssd took exactly 1 minute according to the timeline of the video which equates to 23 seconds faster.
Thinking of swapping the internal drive with a 2tb sshd. Hopefully it will help make the dashboard a bit more snappy. Has anyone tried this?
There are a few vids. Some Digital Foundry vids on CZcams, so speed tests with those drives.
I'm partial to SSD myself.
numbers? graphs? results?
Not much difference from internal SSD and external ssd aside from cold boot Xbox logo screen
Pls tell xbox one x work smoothly with a SSD internal harddrive or not?
Yes, very smoothly. Textures, assets, backgrounds, etc., load pretty fast.
Plz post a video about how to replace hdd to ssd on the one x
search for XFix on youtube he has complete and easy guides on swapping out drives.
HyperNinja33 thanks bro
no prob mate :)
HyperNinja33 wait so your ssd isn't an external one? Do you think the Samsung T5 external 500gb SSD would reduce the times also?
Bigkyfan10 Yeah i replaced my internal HDD with an SSD. I've seen better loading times in numerous games like jumping into match quickly in Ranbow Six Siege, Battlefield 1, Cod ww2 and offline Games loading faster Fallout 4, Rise of tomb raider, Forza Motorsports and NFS Payback.
Can i use an external ssd 250gb for my xbox one slim? Help
256GB is minimum.
What about performance??it's better with SSD??
George karamalakis yes ssd faster and better allways
You won't see a single frame increase from using faster storage. The SSD will only help massively reduce load times

Test more games!
You're aware that you started the load at 0:44 and it was complete at 2:07 which is a 1:23 difference.
