War is awesome. Matching up with Eric Burdon is definitely a vibe Next for WAR has got to be "Slippin into Darkness"
Yep. And the one with the cool intro.
Pearl was a slang reference for clitoris Spill the Wine is breaking the Cherry.
Lowrider is another good War song.
✌️
🤠🏞️🐂
The Prof of Rock interviewed the drummer for War. He said they were in the studio talking about their cars (they were into it). He started fooling around with a different beat and the bass player fell in and kept it going. Lonnie Jordan (singer) listened for a minute then leaned into the mic and said, “all my friends call me lowrider”. A new hit was born!
Harold Brown is and still the drummer. Lonnie Jordan, Was'nt the sing leader, he he was one of the founders and one of the Vocalists until he and their ex manager Jerry Goldstein stoled their name to make a new band. Since he's not a real OG's and the rest of the band had to change their name for THE LOWRIDERS BAND with Harold Brown, Howard Scott, the late BB Dickerson and Lee Oskar. Lonnie Jordan leads a fake band with their name with some musicians but even if their been stoled the real OG'S continue to play the music they created.
There are four more War songs you NEED to check out after having heard Spill the Wine: Me & Baby Brother, Cisco Kid, All Day Music, Slippin’ Into Darkness, Living in the Red, and of course the big one, Low Rider. They’re such a fantastic band! 🎙🎸🎼🎵🎶🤩🙌
Challenge excepted
1000% 🔥🔥🔥
Low Rider!
Absolutely‼🔥
& Slipping Into Darkness.
Eric Burdon is a great singer; was big with The Animals back in the day and founded the band War. Please do more songs from War like "All Day Music" and "The World is a Ghetto."
Yes, All Day Music 🎶
@@ChristinaMcF Oh yeah, and Slippin' Into Darkness."
@@marymargaretmoore9034 I don't think I know that one
Actually, a friend of ours, Howard Scott, founded WAR. Not Eric.
Cisco Kid is my favorite
From what I can find...Eric Burdon is 5'7". Which might be why he referred to himself as a "Gnome". If he's like most folks...well...we tend to shrink with age, so the 5'7" might be generous at best.
I frickin love this tune ❤
Great song! You're right. It's about sex and definitely has that summer vibe. Speaking of which, they had another hit song called Summer. As well as others called Cisco Kid and Why Can't We Be Friends
So sick.. love this tune.. one of my favorites
I was maybe in the 8th grade when this came out big on the radio - SO Cool then, and remains that way today. Also, LOW RIDER, CISCO KID, and many others.
The live version at The Beat Club is great!
This song isn't about wine...
😂😂😂😂
I had a feeling lol
Sssshhhh
Classic! Ever seen a bottle of tequila with a worm in it? In the live version he calls the field of grass "Mexican grass", so probably not the sort of grass you want anywhere near a lawnmower. [grin] It also sets up the Spanish bits she whispers in his ear. I suppose they figured the gist was clear enough without the adjective when they produced the record.
I always LOVED the vibe of War & their stuff‼🔥
It's that "get down, get funky" vibe‼You absolutely HAVE TO move with it‼Is Eric Burdon doing the vocals SICK or what⁉️ BizMatik, your channel is dope as f#&k‼☮ ❤ 🎶
Eric Burdon wasn't a troll looking guy, but he was short and had a normal sized nose on a small face. I don't know if his description of himself in the song was a reflection of how he heard others describe him or if it was his actual self-image. In the sixties, the music was heard on the radio first, then a photo of the band was seen on the album or 45rpm record cover, then performances on television were shown if the group reached a high enough audience. Eric didn't look like he sounded, so his appearance was surprising and, as we all know, some people can be thoughtless.
Nice one Biz. Love the band War. Eric Burdon was a huge 1960's star with the Animals, but IMO his stuff with War was just as good maybe better.
Eric has the Beatnik speak, and War is right on time in every musical way, but the flute is fire. You are right. Lyrics on fire too.
Add another vote for Low Rider. Spill The Wine is a great old tune. Thanks, Mr. Matick :)
Eric burden was the lead singer of the animals ✌️p.s. true story......... My boyfriend met Eric burden and smoked some " herbage" with him🤤
The wine is the result of breaking the hymen, the pearl is the clitorus.
You spill your wine when you're having a fun time and aren't paying attention to your glass. My toddlers love singing along to this.
Eric Burdon is a gift to people all over tha world
That whole record "Eric Burdon declares war" is a psychedelic masterpiece. Its not designed for todays one click musical listener, but it loosely follows the experience of blacks being on some ship with some chains and shit. Why would blacks be on a ship with chains, I dunno. It deals with being alienated and poor and in dealing with the supreme mother earth and eventual fear of death and while being separated from family and homeland. The expression of being black through music, all from an LSD perspective. One of my favorite records, I dont care what critics say. "Little wood ships crossing the ocean" Captains on the ship with the invisible whip......Make em work make em work make em work" Help me sisters help me brothers, cause naked little child you all alone on the shores of america. Go baby...... War was funky deep and scary. Fn dope.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 FIRE. Dug Eric Burdon from the Animals this was definitely a song for him. I suggest SKY PILOT when he was with the Animals a great antiwar song!
Luv it you really get in to the music biz
😁🙏🏿
Have always loved Eric Burdon! ☮️❤️😎
spill the wine, dig that pearl is a reference to the wine being the blood drop from injecting heroin and the pearl....being the heroin
The Live version of this is Amazing!!!
I've always gotten summertime vibes from their music also. War has some really good songs. You've definitely gotta check out more of their music.
Slipping Into Darkness is a good one. Just make sure you do the original with the cool intro. The song is about 7 minutes long. There's another shorter version that's not as good Imo.
I have heard that spilling the, "pearl" is an euphemism. A culmination of a carnal act.
She's telling him, 'Take your pick and get busy'.
This whole album is great check it out
This used to be played on the radio!
Got to watch live video!
This song is basically talking and an epic six word chorus and it’s perfect.
CISCO KID-WAR/ERIC BURDEN 🚨🚨🚨
Thank you, audio version's allows to appreciate the true music without video influence.
Love Eric Burdon.
Saw War over 10 years ago but Eric Burdon wasn’t with them then. Still loved them - all bangers!
I saw Eric Burdon about 6 years ago and he was amazing ❤
Omg, I was today years old when I realized it didn’t say, Spill the wine take that girl! 🤦🏻♀️
Early 70s rules
Should have done the live version, it’s so much better.
I loved this song then, and still do. I don't know why. When it comes on, I always want to follow along. That's why I'm here now.
I highly recommend "Low Rider". Good song. Hint: "... the low rider rides a little higher". 😆
Already did it
@@watchbizmatik Then how about any of these: "Slippin' into Darkness", "The World is a Ghetto", "The Cisco Kid", "Gypsy Man", "Southern Part of Texas"
You are real!
Ah, you found it. Yaaaa
It has great funk.
True statement
SUMMER-WAR W/ERIC BURDEN 🔥🔥🔥
Th Singer is short. New to the group. Briit rocker from the 60's.
It means take the Dive.
❤
I think it's just as he says, spill the wine into the glass.
Others may tell you it's about drugs and a needle.
You missed one of his types of girls and he kind of whispers it, crazy ones
Yeah slippin' and war is comming
Uh...I believe it references spilling blood and shooting heroin... But I was only 10 when this was released so I also didn't catch that but loved the vibe.
Good luck figuring out what this is about. But it still draws you in.
❤️🎯. Next up from War: OUTLAW. (please)
Eric Burden should have stayed in this band longer.... should have cut another record or two. It definitely worked. He was the Best in The Animals. Excellent vocalist
☮️💙💙💙🔥love Eric
You might enjoy the live version to see the group. czcams.com/video/4-Xs7NK-7B8/video.html
Where do you find pearls
Biz, my doggie said he could hear you up in heaven. St Pete said keep it down a little
I know St Pete is enjoying these videos 🙏🏿🙏🏿
@@watchbizmatik love your channel pal
I have never ever skipped this song! I always took the phrase to be sexual. It's beyond me why anyone would ever spill the wine though! I had hoped you were gonna like this one. I think you did? It's been around a long time.
I don't know what still the wine means. But I think it's about letting go. Fuck it. I'm going to spill the wine, all over us
War, low -ride-r rides a little lower..
Spill the wine (male orgasm?) Pearl = clit. That's my impression anyway.
