    It seems like is you were in rough seas, water would enter the exhaust pipe especially when not in use. Have you ever had water get in that exhaust pipe? Awesome video by the way. I’m installing my Chinese diesel heater over the next few days. Just planning it out before I drill. Thanks!

      That’s never happened in 4.5 years. Even of it did there is a “J” bend in the exhaust pipe that would trap it and the heat of the exhaust would very quickly boil it off anyway.

    How did you pipe the exhaust out to the hull? Did you drill a new hole or use an existing bow drain? I have a 210 Searunner too and this is exactly what I was look for. Thanks and great video.

      I drilled a new hole. You would not want to use a scupper.

    Nice heater setup. Where did you source those gromets for your graph wires? I havnt found a the 1 1/8 size I need.

      I bought those at Napa auto

      Go to Amazon, you can get a kit with a ton of sizes.

    I have almost the same boat. Hewes 20’ Pro V ETHT. I really like your instal. That’s exactly what I was hoping for. Is your heater a 5kw or an 8kw? I want the 4 vents like your but I only see 4 vents in the 8kw. Have you had any issues with yours yet?

    • @Brisco811
      @Brisco811  Před 2 lety +2

      8K is a Chinese falsehood. There’s really no such thing. It’s actually a 5K. Don’t let them fool you.

    I have a Weldcraft 20xt. Should work for me. Thanks

    Good video. I have a Hewes Sportsman 200. Should be a good solution. Do you still get good results? Do you remember the brand name of Chinese knockoff?

    • @Brisco811
      @Brisco811  Před rokem

      Mine does not seem to have a brand-name. I ran it all this past winter and it’s still going strong. That’s five years worth of use now. I can’t complain.

    Under way and in a rougher waters any problems?

    • @Brisco811
      @Brisco811  Před 2 lety +3

      No problems. I can go 40 miles an hour and it works and I can be trolling in 4 foot rollers and it works.

    Would you do anything different today if you had to install it today? Better model or different installation?

    • @Brisco811
      @Brisco811  Před 2 lety

      No, I don’t think so. 3 years down the road and it still runs perfect. There are more sophisticated controllers, some even with phone aps and/or wireless remote controls nowadays but for my boat I really don’t need those.

    I am looking at this exact setup for a 2021 210 searunner. I have a 44D to install. How did you mount the heater ? My 44D looks about the same size unit. thx

    • @Brisco811
      @Brisco811  Před rokem

      It’s mounted against the fish box in the bow and the floor above it

    Did you use 1” flex exhaust pipe? Also, do you have a loop or an upward bend as it exits the thru-hull fitting?

    • @Brisco811
      @Brisco811  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes 1 inch stainless flex pipe. I did put a band in the pipe much like a trap under a typical household sink. There is a fitting that connects to the pipe that takes exhaust through the hull
