Throw Net Hawaii - We find a dead baby seal. RIP Ho'omau Lehua.

- We went on a throw net session, we came upon baby seal which I suspected may be dead. After watching for a few minutes, we decided we would leave it and check on it on our way back. When we came back, we watched again and figured to be sure, id go nudge it to be sure. Our suspicions were right, it was dead.
We contacted DLNR, who contacted NOAA. We did come across a NOAA volunteer on our trek back. Our instructions on location seemed to have gotten confused. Luckily the lady did know the location when I told her, NOAA did contact back to let us know the baby seal was found.
Update: Baby seal is a female named Ho'omau Lehua. Tag number RS48

Dis the same seal that was killed?
We arent sure how it died. We just came upon it. There wasnt any type of injuries we could see. I could see a little maybe torn skin/fur in its butt area. Or could just have been poop/bodily fluid cause it was dead.
@@tattookaleooh ok. This is a different one. Had one pup that was killed by a blunt force trauma a week ago on the west side.
