    So proud that we have this quality of coaching in Canada and my home province of Ontario. I adapt many coaching techniques learned here and use them at our club in London, ON. Thank you for making service practice both goal-oriented and fun at the same time.

    I disagreed with his “backspin serve” explanation. “If it doesn’t come back to the net and stay on the table, it’s not backspin.” No, that’s false. A backspin serve can still go off the table. In fact, the second bounce should be near the line, so it’s probably going off of the end of the table anyway. There also varying degrees of backspin serve.
    Granted, it’s a great serve if the second bounce stops at the edge of the table and comes back, but that’s Ma Lin-level. Too short of serves can cause issues with angled short returns.

    Does anyone know best way to return the side+ underspin?

    At 33:30 I didn't understand his "advanced" sidespin underspin serve. It wasn't clear why hitting the ball on that part of the racket makes a difference

      It helps with the combination of spins, easier to add sidespin on that part of the racket.

    Honestly, sometimes I want my opponent to attack the ball so I place it in the danger zone

    i dont know about america but in germany any 1600+ TTR player can do a solid pendulum server with side+under variations (or even side+top).. its really not THAT advanced and only for "top players"

    • @TP-mp5lk
      @TP-mp5lk Před rokem +2

      It is not about doing a solid pendulum but about disguising the spin. And the way he shows it no one at 1600TTR here in Germany is capable of disguising spin.

    • @Blackain66
      @Blackain66 Před rokem +1

      @@TP-mp5lk is disagree man, at least here in this video he is not disguising it well if even at all..
      like noone cares about the motion his racket does when he moves it back before it hits the ball, its really about how it hits the ball and moves during and directly after it and he is not doing any tricky aftermotion too to disguise so its very easy to see and yes 1600 players can do this easily

      That’s nonsense. I’d say not even 50% of 1600+ (in the range of 1600-1750) can serve like that properly. Life advice: It’s not like „I can do it, so everyone can do it“😉
