This is nice. A large step in the right direction. Now all they have to do is make it so that you can toggle the lane darkening filter on/off, have a character select for the lanes, and make the BGA full-screen if a darkening filter is not selected.
i already loved world but this makes me love it even more. I didn’t mind the lane that much since i got used to Emi staring at me but the pitch black was much needed, also the fast slow being over the arrows is great. Great update from konami, i hope they continue to improve this game
Literally they should just fix the bga tho hahaha, if they think 3d animation like supernova to a3 isn't relevant anymore due to hardware limitation. they can just go back with full screen animation like ddr max, no one will complain. The generic background while playing is really not good at all, like why? Ddr cabinet screen is probably the second or third largest screen among all bemani games cabinet screens. So please make a good use of that
@@antoniusstanley1366 Couldn’t agree more, gameplay visuals still desperately need some life. Instead of that constant boring green BGA with the rocket, make a good variety of cool new BGAs that will match different vibes of music.
@antoniusstanley1366 as purely to play and grind I don't mind it at all, although I would like to see some variety in the plain background. But yeah as an overall visual aesthetic I wish they'd bring that back, at least as a toggle like this could be STAGE and the one we got now be SIMPLE. Idk just throwing out ideas tbh
@@bdown_hbunz i mean yeah, as many experienced ddr players don't care about visualization. but some new players may need to be attracted by that, if i just knew ddr after ddr world release, i would be confused why this game looks like that
@@Ace_Wilson well re using the set of visualization from ddr max-ddr extreme or ddr extreme 2 will be good tho.. won't ask for more because i know konami met its limit for developing ddr without hardware upgrade for approx 10 years
This is a step in the right direction, but one thing that I feel that needs to be brought back to the UI - changing difficulty with the up or down arrows.
i dunno how they released the game without the "hold select to access the options screen" feature in the first place. hasn't that been a thing in basically every previous game? it's one thing to change the formula up. it's another to undo the muscle memory of every franchise entry that came before it. just a bizarre oversight. like if the people making WORLD had never played a DDR game before.
If they bring back the Groove Radar or reform it with a toggle that'd be great. Maybe the option to remove the characters from the song selection screen too xD
4:44 Basically the return of the "LET'S CHECK YOUR LEVEL!" feature, but the difference is instead of This Beat Is..., it now plays Steps to the Star, which is also a new song currently exclusive to "LET'S CHECK YOUR LEVEL!". Anyways, I'm very happy that Konami is listening to their players and this update is a huge step in the right direction. I will admit that some of these should've been in the game from the start, but glad that Konami realized it earlier and put out this update. I hope more updates will make DDR World a much more fun, and user friendly experience, because this update alone is a perfect step in the right direction. Also another update: The Konami originals in DDR World are now playable in DDR Grand Prix under Arcade Play, even having Groove Radar values for each. Some other changes I would like to see are full screen music videos if possible, and different BGAs for rather than the normal green rocket that's there.
Next steps to improve this sequel of Dancing Stage Fusion game and finally call it a DDR version: - Full screen BGA's - Restore Groove Radar - Restore "Here we go" signal at music start - Remake select music screen. Select level menu is... *bleh* - For all the gods!! the announcer!! delete DDR X voice lines!! (Sounds like an IA voice)!! Listen to the old DDR Players Konami! This thing commemorates the 25th anniversary of DDR! This game is trully a bad joke! Andamiro has overtaken you to the right!
that statement saying "andamiro has overtaken you to the right" Haha hate to admit but this is so undeniable lol Even there is my friend who really hates "pump it up" So much, finally admitted that andamiro is trying to be better surely
I think most of us veteran DDR players gave up hope on Konami listening a decade ago. It's too bad because with DDR A they really seemed to be listening to us for the first time since Supernova. I really don't get what their intention with World is. Why change what wasn't broken?
Konami listening isn't shocking at all. They shrank the judgement font substantially early on in A3, and they listened to the complaints about eamusement exclusive songs and website exclusive options. I'm glad they're continuing to listen.

lol taking away features and bring it back classic Konami prolly was an accident I think the classic way to change difficulty will come back too
