    Yep, very good. Coils & plugs need to be changed more often if you run on Ethanol, which this engine does very well with just a simple reprog. Love this engine, powerful, sober, and runs on ethanol

    I just went through the same thing on a 2012 X5 N55. Cylinder 5 had the same failure of the 'white' powder. Changed all 6 ignition coils and spark plugs. I had to remove the cabin air filter to access cylinder 5 and 6.

      It happens. Glad you were able to diagnose and repair. Other than this one issue, our n55 x3 has been bullet proof!

    The valve cover vent hose typically breaks due to the heat cycling. It is recommended to order one when removing that pipe because it almost certainly will break if the car is several years old.

      This is true. Always best to replace proactively instead of waiting for leaks to happen.

    Haven't had this problem, but if I do I'm ready. Thank You.

    I really wanted to see that bracket in the back come off. I’m having issues with #5. For some reason my mechanic decided to change the injectors first.

      Sorry I didn’t show every detail. There are a bunch of different videos. I would have thought someone showed that specific part.

    I replaced all the coils and plugs and I still get the transmission light on and abs, misfire on all the cylinders, but the car runs, I don't know what to do, help 😢

      Beyond that, I’m not sure. That should have cleared it up. Your worse case scenario is to get a dealership quote. These newer bmws I don’t know as well as the early 2000s 3 series

      Check your battery. When the modern cars start lighting up like a Christmas tree, the battery is often getting weak.

    Delphi coils and Bosch plugs, no wonder it wasn't running right 😉

    • @TenzaMotorsports
      @TenzaMotorsports  Před 2 lety

      I’m not sure what the original coil pack is. But the plugs were Bosch. All is good now!

      I agree. Plugs should be NGK. Coils Bosch.

    I just saw a video a day ago where someone said a 12 point 14 mil deep socket worked just fine on these weird plugs. He didn't say anything about having to grind it thinner.

    • @greenman7612
      @greenman7612 Před rokem

      Typically a standard socket is too large a diameter to fit. Buying a spark plug socket is cheap.

    Hey nice work
    I got a question i got 2014 bmw x3 2.0L
    When the engine is cold it doesn’t accelerate and it’s seems like you are hitting the brakes after it’s in the operation temperature it’s running smooth I don’t know if you have any idea how to fix that i will appreciate that

  • @greenman7612

    Coil packs are notorious for failing. I’m surprised you never had one fail.

    • @TenzaMotorsports
      @TenzaMotorsports  Před rokem

      I've owned and ran BMW for over 13 years at this point. never had to replace a pack due to failure. I've done preventative maintenance before. but never had one fail.

    Why would it throw a transmission code if it’s misfiring

    • @TenzaMotorsports

      Asking the wrong person. I think it’s weird too.

      BMW programs that in to drive you insane. It's a very short drive for some of us who have been tooling on Bimmers for years though.

      Yes. Always disconnect the battery when working with electrical.

    How long should i change the spark plugs ?

    • @TenzaMotorsports
      @TenzaMotorsports  Před 2 lety +1

      Around 70k miles. It won’t hurt them to run until you start noticing they are slightly off. But it’s always better to be proactive instead of reactive with maintenance

  • @greenman7612

    What cylinder did your scan tool say was not firing properly?? Those plugs look good.

    • @TenzaMotorsports
      @TenzaMotorsports  Před rokem

      It didn’t give me a specific cylinder. Just said "random misfire" if I remember right. and yes the plug looked ok. but the owner just said to replace them. Car had over 70k on the original plugs and they wanted them replaced.

    Hey bro. I just have a question about my e36. I bought an aftermarket front bumper and I can’t get it it fit properly, the reinforcement bar still shows by about an inch, right underneath the grills. Got any ideas ?
