    • @dominicramos

      If you utilize the etension for Zotero in Google or Safari (as shown in my video) I believe it allows you to cite the website. I've done it a few times myself, but I would recommend double checking the information it pulls as it may be off. It will get the majority of the information, you will just need to make minor amendments in the Zotero program to that specific citation.
      Hope that helps! ♥️

    Thanks a lot for sharing! Still got a question concerning what you’ve said at 7:20. If I already have lots of files, organized in folders, is it possible for me to import them all to zotero at once, with the order remained?

    • @dominicramos
      @dominicramos  Před rokem +1

      Yes you can! I’ve been meaning to make a video on this, there’s 3 ways you can add new sources to Zotero and each of them has a purpose. For you, you can simply “select all” (CTRL + A) all of the sources saved to your computer and simply drag them over to Zotero. I recommend doing it in small batches because it will take a while to process all the metadata from each article. Hope that helps!

  • @zuleighaabderoef5094

    Hello. Thanks for the informative video. Can I import documents other than PDF?

    • @dominicramos
      @dominicramos  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes you can, however, you won’t have the metadata available in different documents so it might not auto populate the reference fields. They’ll at least be saved for you all in one place, you will just need to manually type author names, publication, date, issue, etc.

  • @NandiniUK
    @NandiniUK Před rokem +1

    Hi, can I add long references of articles I have not uploaded in Zotero, and still keep the references generated by Zotero? I lost few hours of work, when e.g., I manually copied a citation of Author A, and pasted it in the long reference list (without uploading the document to Zotero). when I added the citation of Author B (from Zotero), Author A reference vanished from the long list. Is there a way to solve this? Do I need to upload ALL the documents to be cited in Zotero? thanks!

    • @dominicramos
      @dominicramos  Před rokem

      The best practice would be to continually add all articles you want in your reference list/bibliography to Zotero. This process will allow you to either include or omit references with ease and avoid any extraneous work. You can easily add references to Zotero by dragging and dropping the PDF into Zotero, or looking it up via the DOI or ISSN number. I hope this answers your question! 😁 Best of luck!

  • @afiyaa9099
    @afiyaa9099 Před 11 měsíci

    Hi, thanks so much for the useful video here. I am using Zotero but found one limitation in it. i.e., we cannot cite any code books (building standard code books which don't possess any authors as such) downloaded/dropped into the Zotero library. Could you please correct me if I'm wrong at this point?

    • @dominicramos
      @dominicramos  Před 11 měsíci

      That’s a good question, if it doesn’t auto populate then (to my knowledge) the text does not have metadata to fill out the desired fields. I do run into this issue from time-to-time with seminal older works, and unfortunately it’s just one of those instances where you have to self-populate the fields. For citation reference I go to OwlPurdue and look up the proper citation mechanics. Hope that helps!

      Sorry to hear that, but this is a video on how to “get started” with Zotero. That's a much more nuanced citation question, so I'm sorry you didn't get what you were looking for.
      However, hope this helps, this is the APA guidelines for text longer than 40 words: “Quotations longer than 40 words should be formatted as block quotations. Indent the entire passage half an inch and present the passage without quotation marks. Any relevant page numbers should follow the concluding punctuation mark. If the author and/or date are not referenced in the text, as they are here, place them in the parenthetical that follows the quotation along with the page numbers.”
