    The GS or Z51 with a centrifugal blower type is a much more streetable power than a Z06 or roots modification to GS or Z51. The boost comes on gradually and feels like a powerband while roots power is instant. That instant power is both potentially dangerous and quite scary for unsuspecting daily drivers. You see a lot of Z06 coming back with 3k miles on them due to this fact. The roots style, since it’s attached directly on the engine, also overheats and Z06 are known to have that problem. The Z06 tires are expensive too because roots blows cause more spin than centrifugal blowers. On a GS or Z51 w/ centrifugal blower you spend less on tires. Lastly, you will still get 29 MPH highway on the LT1 procharger, ECS, or A&A set up - all centrifugal blowers. All this answers the question, “why don’t you just buy a Z06?”
    I am looking to ProCharge my Z51 or possibly buy a used GS to ProCharge, since I think the tires are a bit undersized on Z51. Or I may wait to see what the C8 configuration looks like.

    It's a good clean build with good power and no shortcomings that I can see. It's the direction I've been considering for a while now. The used C7 Z06's are still too expensive. This system does not clutter up the engine compartment, or cause engine noise. My only concern would be that the air intake source is outside air and not the hotter engine compartment air. I'm in Texas and intake air temperatures are already high.

    I put this same one on my 2017 GS. Great Review.

    I have a Z51 which I have installed a widebody z06 oem look with z06 wheels I did this for 1200 Canadian all used parts from various sources. Stock it’s faster. A&A is in the cars future. Building the LT1 is fun and on the 6.2 block Kaytech can build the engine so well.

    I'm not sure where they're located and what kind of dyno they're using but those LT1 "stock" numbers sounded a bit off and the LT4 numbers sounded way off. I've run several LT1s on the dyno and they usually run in the 380-400whp range (depending on the trans). I've ran over probably twenty LT4 cars and they put down 535-560whp (again, the trans). Now, I'm in Florida where heat and humidity play a big factor so an LT4 on the dyno in July with an automatic is going to put down substantially less power than another in January with a manual trans. Regardless, if you're running an LT4 with a manual trans and averaging in the 520-530whp range that's really low. That equates to 18-20% drivetrain loss on a car that should only lose 12-13%. Even the automatics should be doing better than that. Is it just the difference in altitude, humidity, heat, etc., etc.. or what?

    thanks for the video; 2 questions, my 2017 GS is an automatic. Will it overheat on the track with this supercharger? The C7 z06 automatics overheated when tracking them.

    Great video! A&A should have a link to this on their site. I researched all the after market superchargers for the C7 and landed on this one. Great price. Great technology and fantastic customer support. They were always willing to chat or email to answer all my questions. I’ll be driving to SoCal later this year for the install. (I’m in the Bay Area)

    ...centrifugal superchargers are more efficient meaning more of the power they produce goes to driving the wheels rather than driving the supercharger...
    ...the increased efficiency also means less charge air heating...taking some of the thermal load off of the engine...

    Very informative video, I'm fighting with myself on doing it to my 2011 GS, I don't need it but I WANT IT if you get my drift lol. What numbers do you get with a LS3/Kooks LT w/hi flo cats, and the A&A setup ? Thanks

    When I added a supercharger to my manual 2010 corvette grand sport, the launch control no longer works. It seems to be overwhelmed by the torque. Can the launch control be recalibrated?

      My cost to convert the body rear brakes to Zr1 or Z06 -Kooks exhaust and manifold ported TB a&a super charger under 18000 Canadian I produce 703 whp. I couldn’t sell my Z51 and buy z06 plus my car now is much faster than z06.

    Does this increase HP? By how much? Cost?

    • @VerisimilitudeDude
      @VerisimilitudeDude Před 6 lety +4

      Of course it adds HP. Why else would you put one on there? The A&A kits vary by what stage you want. Stage 1, for example, can add up to 140 hp to the stock hp numbers.
