the narrator is french. the prequel of sorts to this game, simply called "there is no game" (while this is called "there is no game: wrong dimension") was a flash game made for a construct2 game jam with the theme of "deception." if you look at the info tab of the game on kongregate, the dev clarifies that he is french, not russian

The user and Game get stuck inside a dimension where it looks like there's an old TV that has an unplugged video input. When the user plugs the input, it is revealed that the TV is showing a point and click game that has Mr. Holmes and Mr. Watson as the main characters. The user is required to go through the puzzles inside the game. Eventually, the user uses a penny to unscrew the back of the TV, which lets them see behind the scenes of the game. Part of the story takes place in Mr. Wilhelm's home. Wilhelm is oddly glitchy, and once the user makes the moon full, adds snow, and a cherry on him, he explodes and Mr. Glitch appears. When the user does so, it is revealed that Mr. Glitch has an evil plan, but because Mr. Glitch's plan explanation was interrupted, the plan is unknown. After Mr. Glitch escapes, Holmes and Watson get stuck in a sign hanging on a floating wall. The user and Game help them and escape that dimension. After escaping the dimension, the user and Game end up in another game dimension called Legend Of The Secret and it leads to the next chapter, The Good, the Bad, and the Princess.
