For the spikes in the boss fight, You were supposed to drop the brick with "Home" on it so the hero jumps into the air OVER the spikes.

To dodge the spikes, you're supposed to drop the home button so the hero can bounce over the spikes. When you made the hero small, he still lost a heart.
