Stringing together intricate negativity webs of hand picked details ignoring injuries, suspensions, and the loss of Kane, the loss of two of our three starting mids for internationals, and any other admissions that the season was anything other than ideal. Interpreting Ange’s words in the most negative way they can. Crying victim when Paul so much as made a face while they were ranting. Then in the next breath, shouting him down every 30 seconds when he tries to speak. At the end of the day, these guys are the problem. Any one who doesn’t share their hysterical negativity must certainly be an idiot and can’t be allowed to speak or much less enjoy a team that has any flaws or shortcomings whatsoever.

And if Ange was specific there would be a big noise of irreconcilable differences with Levy, the hyper-sensitive precious fans who can't be questioned etc who'll then respond with the usual "he's got to go" "he doesn't understand us or what Tottenham means". Get it straight, he left it hanging in the air because he's not as blunt and hot-headed as Conte but if some folk's intuition and intellect aren't quite attuned to each other, then I think it's something like this, he sees exactly what Conte saw. Unlike Conte I believe he relishes the challenge, it's what's made him who he is so far.
Of course if the fans are offended by him alluding to them in the wretched fragile culture at our club, throw him out and start the whole cycle again with Mr Levy getting the next stooge in. Start singing a new ode to the new stooge to the words of that busker in the stadium after a couple of victories in September, with Ange's name added to our other recent managers disparagingly in the lyrics and go through the usual pontificating spiel about players, tactics, deadwood, "he needs 3 transfer windows" etc in the online forums ad nauseum. Extra £60m for making the CL? Levy would never endorse that and we wouldn't spend it on a proven top class player anyway. We don't pay the wages those top of the range players want, even if we can afford the transfer fee. Do the board want to get burnt again after large money signings that are effectively write offs now?
Does Ange want ready made players or will we stick to the young with potential philosophy, players willing to develop into his style of play?

Hey Sean, i enjoy the content. There are far too many points to address from this episode in a CZcams comment. I would like to address the argument that “Ange said he doesn't care about 4th”. He didn’t say he didn’t care about 4th. He said you cant use it as a barometer for building a successful team where we are in the project. He then also gave plenty of examples of clubs that made it to UCL but weren’t anny further anlong or winning ans a result of it. The questions were constantly around the “top 4 race” for weeks after he has already given his answer so the repeated same questions pissed him off. They piss off all managers.
The questions then pivot to well the Money and quality of player, you need to attract quality players that want to play champions league. Ange then addresses the kind of player he wants and that from a money perspective it a nice to have but clubs aren’t banks & It wont affect the summer plans. Fans constantly using this series of questions and responses as a base point to go after why they’re justified in wanting the club to lose and the extend that with why he didn’t he play VDV at LB earlier if he cared about 4th and so is as I’ve pointed out above incorrect. It’s lazy and either uninformed or agenda driven to keep using it imv.
Ange is a proven winner and has turned around cultures in football clubs plenty of times. But football fans are very very short sighted… again I could easily go one about change and successful culture transformation and what it takes but its too much for a “comment section”. I will say this, i have over 20 years of experience in changing cultures in corporate settings from take overs to just direction change, and while he is a manager of a football club, i can assure you , people are still what’s the centre and “human behavior” is what you need to understand to be successful and as much as the fans don’t like how Ange comments have made them feel, that’s more on them.
They probably feel dirty, the ego, super ego and the accompanying reality distortion fields are a real thing and protect us, and fans getting upset with Ange and not applying context are most likely just don't like how grubby they feel and they dont like being told they’re grubby.
It’s interesting they turn on Ange so quickly tho… almost like they are……….Fragile.
Anyways, stay healthy, eat a steak, salt and pepper, massive glass of water and you will be fine. COYS TTID. Audere Est Facere
( I stood in the Paxton for over a decade, I’ve seen us win plenty of trophies, Ange is honestly giving me Keith “The General” Burkinshaw Vibes, just with out the first season relegation.

@@TooDarnSoulful but that's exactly what Ange didn't want. We looked absolutely awful going forward against city and had to rely too much on occasional counterattacks. It just becomes a more sophisticated Mourinho and Conte-era football. We barely stitched together a proper build-up play and there was literally nothing down the left flank because VDV simply can't invert as effectively. Against Arsenal, people just get blinded by the result and forget that we were absolutely all over them. The problem was quality. No one to finish chances, put in inch-perfect crosses, take on the fullback and hit the byline, the list is long. Its a transfer window problem not tactics

We all need to take a step back and get some perspective. The City game and the situation with Ars was extremely unfortunate and will probably never happen again. It's gone, forget it. (Hopefully City will win on Sunday!). We have not achieved much in many, many years. We have had to watch terrible football for many years. Terrible player recruitment for many years. We have finally decided to go in a different direction and actually making fundamental, root and branch, changes to make that happen. New Director of football, recruitment, first team manager, etc. Unfortunately we still have a squad that was constructed under the old regime and we need to get rid of a lot of players. Unfortunately due to FFP rules, that makes it difficult to achieve (selling off dead wood at a loss and then replace them). We need better players and one's that fit the new system but it will take time.
I think Ange does have a point about the collective mentality at Spurs. We have been mediocre for years and something needs to change - across the entire club (not the supporters btw). Mourhino said it, Conte said it, Ange is saying it. I think it's an unpalatable truth. Look at Man Utd. They used to have it but since Ferguson left, they have completely lost that level of mentality and it's going to be difficult to get back. I think Ange's stubborn persistent stance on mentality is a psychological process that he knows needs to happen. You need to bed it in without waivering. Trying to play 'Ange ball' with the squad he has is going to be difficult and I don't think it is just about ability, it's as much about mental ability. First year into this new regime and we are likely to finish 5th (you could argue it should have been 4th with a fair wind). Klopp finished 8th, Arteta finished 8th two years on the trot (I think that is correct), Alex Ferguson finished 11th twice and 13th in his first 4 seasons at Utd! It takes time.

Ange has learned and most likely been trained to be short and evasive, possibly to an unhelpful degree, because he isn’t used to the media in england (seems to have improved, albeit during a tougher period), to protect his players and staff, and because he’s not the best at hiding emotion leading to short, evasive, frustrated responses (he is more jovial during the early winning stretch, pre match interviews, after the team plays as well as possible, etc.). Ange is not a great manager in terms of addressing media, but he’s adapted well imo to the additional scrutiny of the epl media (whole still protecting the players as much as possible and only turning on them in vague terms after multiple frustrating performances) and throughout his career he was known for having many great interviews and being loved the majority of rhe time by fans and pundits alime but not handling the tough questions well (mainly due to the frustration you can see in his body language especially when asked about specific situations during the poor stretche (he isn’t focused on the specific situations, it’s the whole tactical approach, the mentality, etc. When he was unsuccessful he wants to find a solution to the problems he sees, but doesn’t want to put a spotlight on anything specific when he wan5s to raise the level of play across the board).

My overall issue have moving forward is whether Ange has the capacity to learn from a number of mistakes and at the same time does the club give him the opportunity to fully implement his foundations. These are the points I’m unsure about at the moment.

We have to keep AP for this coming season, we should know by xmas if it is going to work but I am not convinced that he has what it takes.
Our focus should now shift to the Sheffield game and then on to the crucial question: does Levy have enough confidence left in AP to fully fund his transfer requirements this summer?
