- If you've been on that Plasticpills content, you know I've been pushing for new forms of practice, so here we're attempting some unprecedented, collaborative work. We discuss the intentions behind the project here: • Eyes & Ears w/ @ArtinS...
I don't have the skillset for lyrical theory, so I got at someone who does. Artin Salimi is the most innovative and underappreciated theorytube creator I know of (if you're unconvinced, here's his take on Deleuze's Difference & Repetition: • Gilles Deleuze (pt.2) ... ). I did my best to keep up for the sake of the video, but he's on another level. Hit up his channel for continental and Islamic philosophy mediated by stop motion and hip-hop beats.
We're looking at the sonic as an 'informalized' philosophy, and there's a stack of references packed throughout, including Plato, Mulla Nasruddin, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Derrida, Virilio and Baudrillard, so happy hunting!
There's always more exclusive content from me for channel members and patrons / plasticpills . Thanks so much to everyone already making it happen--a better contentverse is possible!
This is beautiful. Thank you.
I rewatch this every 2 months or so, cause there are so many moments where a paper-work is reduced to a line (which marks its brilliance). I return, here again, to understand how to ride the horse backwards.
Pretty snappy CZcams essay! High compression content with ear appeal.
I've been a patron for Salimi for a while now, it's awesome to see you two doing this.
outstanding.
Wow. LOVE your brain and this guy's voice. Great art and graphics!! Not a fan of rap, but this I can get into 🎹🎼🎵🎶
So good to see Artin Salimi showing up here! I've been enjoying both channels for a while now, and I hope this gets Artin a wider audience.
Y’all didn’t have to go this hard for us!!
superb
Thanks, Pills. It was different, it was risky and, as always, it was helpful for thinking further! :)
wow,
Thanks for making this beautiful piece of art. This was refreshing amidst an ocean of milquetoast videos/songs.
You rapping? Life can't get any better ☺️👍
Your rap name should be Hamlet
Absolutely stunning
The explanation arrives/arise before the event...nice.
Rapping is a better way to convey ideas in a creative and digestible way. With that being said, I appreciate the attempt to rhizome philosophy with hip hop and graphic art. Very deleuzian!!
Indigestible for me, unfortunately.
@@Autists-Guide +1
@@Autists-Guidereally overly simplified, but: knowledge and truth has historically been described and understood through sight. This concept sets off the search for a perfect vision and understanding of the world. This, intentionally or not, form the basis for systems like surveillance, and essentialism.
Also, if pills is referencing Deleuze in the way I think he is: the sense of sound is presented as a way to think about an alternate conception of seeing truth and knowledge.
@@Fryguystudios
Thank you for that.
I'm good with sound. I grew up with radio and haven't watched TV for nearly 20 years.
But I kinda tune out with rap, so I stopped listening.
A thought though... we hold hearings and perform audits to uncover truth, not orals. :D
The graphic design/animation of the words at 1:20 is astonishingly genius
Absolutely blown away by this. Fantastic job.
Fantastic
Holy wow I love this. Great job
Amazing stuff! Brilliant very strong due to its artistic power
I used to do motion grafix, that was a lot of work! Well done!
The creativity is beyond understanding!
Such a wide variety of influences, seen so well through the schizo dancing between them, I was wondering if at some point you could do a like "Plastic Pills Reading Rec List" mainly id be interested in the more eccentric works.
I’m fascinated by your channel. I’m not sure if I understand everything, but I understand a LOT more from 20th Century continental philosophy, which I regarded to be complete gibberish for far too long. You have an excellent gift when it comes to giving examples and using creative autoirony to convey a point. I’m also very glad that you introduced me to Deleuze, whose work is an uplifting and inspiring, yet intelligent message, which I needed desperatly in this bleak stream of hiperreality, which the internet has become.
"well that was nice" - Mom
This was unbelievably dope and lit.
Best wishes, and, thank you from Prague.
Super creative and inspired. This is great, so beautiful and inspiring. Thankyou for creating this.
Yes!! This put more parts of my brain together than nearly any lecture. Not that your lectures aren't great, of course, but musical ideas are indescribable in any other medium. Thank u for the stellar, violent content(tm)!
This may seem out of place, but is there going to be an episode on The System of Objects?
This has Kae Tempest vibes. I would take an album of this. Add to spotify maybe so I can walk and listen?
This is lit dense mental content.
Plastic Pills made good use of a philosophy degree. “The truth was once alive and it may be again”. 7:30
Salimi's verse is lit tho, ngl 💥 Almost shocked to hear Pills rap at first. But apart from that, appreciate the works and messages. Like The Dialectical Psyche said, music it's a better form to send some messages to a lot of ppl.
Love the video so much, the intro ,the rapsody of styles connecting to ideias of previous videos, and 3.48 ,the new science sees ... Is like the fear instigates the reactionary me... No questions or answers, just like the machine we are.. and then the answer 6.20 ,that rap nails it,congrats to you all
is this like The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny but for theorycel psychonauts?
i dig it, definitely saving this one for my next trip
Bars 🔥
Twelve hours and no comment yet. The drop must have really caught everyone sleeping.
featuring Giggs?
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
reminds me of "eyedea and abilities" a bit
What you do really is fantastic. The rap is great, it's funny.
Hahaha this is so cool. Love it. Artin’s on some Unknown T in this.
Light from psychedelics is not violent
I appreciate the lyrics and the spoken word Pills, i really do, but the rapping... I mean, don't quit your day job. ;)
That said, i am not a rap fan at all, maybe it's amazing and just flies over my head.
Haha put up or shut up, which means now that it's up, I will shut up and stick to the motion graphics
@@PlasticPills Not gonna lie, i admire your courage.
@@PlasticPills Look it's just like for Kitano ; You can't be brilliant at every single art form, mastering just one is enough of an achievement if you ask me
You can paint, draw, write, direct, edit, sometimes eat and sleep, I mean this is ok
( what would be absolutely based though, is a plastic pills designed game. But this shit may be just as hardcore as music or even worse ; Anyway, my point was the rap may be cringe but this channel is already great mate)
@@PlasticPills I really think recording and editing a rap vocal is a technically very different thing from the usual talking over videos - I genuinely think there is a lot that could be done there with a little bit more experience in that field.
@@PlasticPills nah its finde dude...
IMO The rap would've been better at the end of the video! I enjoyed the talk a lot more.
Artin Salimi is the most underrated creator on the planet right now everyone here should go subscribe to him
really cool concept and i loved the beat made from cameras. you should reach out to some rappers to work with. Kool ad is a deleuzian talented rapper i think he'd be down to do somethings with you. the rhymes and stuff were good too i just wish there was more energy in your delivery. excited to see how you progress in these things!
Awesome work!
The visuals are amazing, the lyrics are deep and meaningful, and while your voice could use a little more character and rhythm, it's still good IMHO.
I'm sure that will improve with time, and I would definitely keep working this stuff, as it's really cool to watch.
The lyrics being visualized is super helpful too!
I love your little manipulations to the visuals that fit the audio effects. Top notch!
I make a bunch of kaleidoscopic visuals myself, and the only thing I might add about those is that I much prefer 6 or 7 pointed stars than the typical 4 or 8....
Still there's not much to complain about in this wonderful new piece of art, and I only hope the criticism can add to the quality that much more next time around!
I can't wait for more! 👏👏👏
Beautiful! Any way to get the lyrics sheet?
People with a lot in common can have violently different Music taste. Personally I really really like the instrumental track here. The rapping is good, but when a big name gets dropped it sounds kind of goofy (maybe some academic baggage there). Plus Plastic Pill's voice could do with a bit more anger, but otherwise works pretty well. Awesome content and production. I'll be checking out Artin Salimi and listening to this one again for sure
"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light."
-Plato
Sometimes light reveals things about us that are best left unknown.
Nothing is also something. The empty space in between notes is what makes a melody. Modern man is trying to eliminate the empty space, the nothing, death, to become immortal. But in doing so you just create a drone, no contrast, no Yin, like a heart monitor flatlining.
@@mylesjeffers6148 True.
There is an egregore, a heccaity, working through parts of humanity right now that's driving us towards "enlightenment". The connectivity of the internet and amazing artists like you and Artin boost the signal. The immanent thought-form beast that is created by us and creates us in each moment through oscillating feedback, is growing stronger. Seeing its iterations on our plane more and more, even in super popular trending videos: czcams.com/video/cUzklzVXJwo/video.html
In pop songs:
Speaking of nirvana, it was there
Rare as the feathers on my dash from a phoenix
There with my crooked teeth and companion sleeping, yeah
Dreaming a thought that could dream about a thought
That could think of the dreamer that thought
That could think of dreaming and getting a glimmer of God
I be dreaming of dreaming a thought
That could dream about a thought
That could think of dreaming a dream
Where I cannot, where I cannot
