Practically every financial document I've ever submitted had a line where I had to sign to agree that the information was correct as far as I could ascertain. "I might be lying, figure it out yourself" would certainly have gotten me audited.
"Called me a Fraud before I got to Court"
This is still true poetry 🤗
Well,that saved time.
Here, let me fix that: Issued a summary judgment on the basis of facts not disputed by the defense that I had committed persistent fraud. There. That's better.
He's not actually required to be at court at all.
@@benjaminturnscrewgmail2341stop repeating Trump's lies. His lawyers didn't "forget" anything. Claiming they did and that the judge is unfair is part of Trump's strategy to try to get the case thrown out. If his lawyers had ACTUALLY forgotten to ask for a jury trip they could have submitted a motion saying so for the judge to consider. They didn't.
@@ZHZhuullCalm down, we know they did it on purpose. It's just more funny to claim his lawyer's are as stupid as him.
"You can't charge me with fraud because I already admitted I was lying?"
JUST STOP,,,,LOLOLOLOL
That “clause” is damming in itself.
“Do your own due diligence”
Well it seems the court has and found you were lying.
The clause is not there to protect Trump, it's to protect the accountant submitting the financials. The accountant is saying, don't blame me for the numbers, I got them from this tangerine nightmare.
Came here to say the same thing. I work for an accounting firm and we include this clause on all our financial statements. "These financial statements were prepared from unaudited books and records." - we are protecting ourselves from liability if our client is submitting bogus numbers to us. It doesn't protect the client from liability.
I love tangerine nightmare! 😅
Boiler plate disclosure if it's not a audit or even a comp/review fs
More likely than not the "clause" only exists on Trump's head
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That Don Jr. deposition was like a Bart Simpson book report on Treasure Island.
The most disturbing aspect of this fraud case is that apparently he would have gotten away with it if he hadnt gotten so infamous. How many other rich bastards are committing fraud with impunity??
All of them.
This isn't your run of the mill fraud where rich people hide assets. Trump massively inflated assets yet never makes a profit. The insurance and taxes alone should have bankrupted him. The logical conclusion is that for the past four decades Trump has been running a multi billion dollar money laundry.
@@user-jf5qq2ke7y these cretins will believe anything they are fed. They know NOTHING about real estate or valuation.

@@user-jf5qq2ke7y it must suck to be so smart and for the justice system to be composed of such dumdums despite dedicating their entire lives to the profession and graduating from prestigious difficult schools dedicating to teachin them as much as possible of human knowledge about law. If Mar-a-Lago is worth that much, then pay THOSE taxes.
I can't believe that someone would spend that much money on a bathroom and then put a cheap arse shower curtain in! 😂
That toilet tank looks like it’s sitting about a foot too far off the back wall. Cheaped out on a plumber probably didn’t pay them either.
Just look at his awful haircut and baggy suits.
Even when he vomits money on interior design, the man has proven a deadly lack of taste. Trump has always been about peacocking, not style.
Maybe he hid some documents in the bathtub as well, and didn't want to draw attention to that. So he picked a Tacky Shower Curtain to fit the rest of the tacky decor in that bathroom.
How about the cheap plastic trashcan standing along the wall
Tacky swamp castle is an amazing phrase.

I love how Donald Trump basically says "Yeah, I lied. Come at me." They came at him. The phrase "Be careful what you wish for." Seems to apply here.
Saying "I'm a liar & a fraud so don't trust me" is NOT an excuse for committing fraud! But nice try, Donnie. You've given us (and especially the judge) a good LAUGH.

“Don’t believe anything you read” clause on the front of a document signed by Trump to be represented as truthful 😂
Like a true Satan.
Perhaps the government should give blanket immunity deals to Trump and all co-defendants in all of his cases, with the disclaimer "don't believe anything you read" on all of them. Then, when the trials start, instead of honoring the immunity deals, the prosecutors can proceed with the prosecution and say, "hey, we had a disclaimer on those deals telling you not to believe them".
boggles the mind, the power of the infantile reasoning mind of Trump
much like ' faux noise's schmucker kakakarson's ' n kraken karen's defense in court ' no normal , reasonable person would/should believe what we say '
it might help to know that the banks were laundering money for the russian mob... with trump's help.
I'm surprised Seth didn't point out that when Trump keeps saying "you can't just trust us, you have to do your due diligence," that's EXACTLY what the authorities did - and it's the very reason he's now in court!
Precisely. It means exactly the opposite of "the submitter is not liable for the contents of this document"
That line of B/S is crazy ! Trump is in court because of propaganda which mostly lies. You need to listen to something more than the CNN's of the world to get real facts .If you listen to only 1 side you will favor that one side but listen to both and you might get a different look at what is really going on . Not that one is right all the time as none are .but none are wrong all the time either. Wake up butt heads the world is crumbling right in front of you and your to dumb to see it and Biden was the one who started the ball rolling down hill.
The only problem is that it took them 30 years to do their fucking job.
tRump's explanation of the "Worthless Clause" was pretty priceless. If he's submitting a financial statement to a bank with a clause stating "This Statement is Worthless" then the bank should throw it out and ask for an *actual* financial statement. How he's been allowed to even conduct business all this time is stupifying.
"This statement is false".
I personally enjoy watching his lawyer in the background there actively reevaluating her life choices the more he continues explaining his fraud to the cameras
Seth bungling the end is comedy gold. Still way better than any of us could do! 😂
If his property was undervalued, isn't Trump liable for a lot of unpaid taxes on it?
Yup.
Good point
Thats so true! Thats how stupid trump is!
I'm sure he paid tax on the assessed value, both if which were determined by the county. He only inflated the value as collateral to get better interest rates on loans.
Annoyingly, no. Most jurisdictions have an assessed rate and a market rate, and you pay taxes on the assessed rate. The market rate can be completely unrelated, but that's the rate you'd claim if you wanted to use your property for collateral for business loans.
I'm amazed he didn't use the same property as collateral for multiple loans. That seems like the most obvious scam to run, but maybe he's got some advisor actually smart enough to explain how easy it is to get caught doing that...
Jon Stewart is no longer the host of The Daily Show, but I’m so glad Seth Myers can give us the news while making us laugh.

This was one of the funniest ones yet ....when he said Trump still had some business to attend too😂😂😂😂😂
So Trump is telling his followers that they can go to a bank to get a car loan for a Porsche and tell them that they make a million dollars a month BUT if the bank believes you it’s on them. You can’t get away with that, Trump did and thinks it’s ok. Mind blowing
Trump could because he's rich, like others that do that... And most the Rich unlike Trump have been living off government subsides for decades.
The Rich are the problem.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard is your boy in Barack Obama are pushing you people into thousand-dollar electric golf carts golf carts you don't make any sense😅
He's been getting away with it for decades. Hopefully he finally gets held accountable.
Yeah and he also said it’s good to not pay your taxes. Nothing is a surprise to me anymore.
When someone constantly walks around lying and grifting everyone around them, they lose touch with reality. So, as opposed to the Chump household and the current Republican Party, every where else in society deceitful/duplicitous actions are seen as signs of low character or integrity. They are rewarded in these subsets of groups and even praised for their ability to deceive, that contrast doesn’t register for them even in courtrooms.
When approached for comment about Junior's testimony, Trump has this to say: "I don't know him, I never knew him, never seen him before in my life. Never had any dealings with him. Heard about him once or twice in passing. Heard he was an addict. Never knew about him. Never met him."
He definitely said the same thing about Eric.

"oh is he rudys kid? never heard of either of them."
😂😂😂
“Never heard of him, but I understand he’s a loser - very low ratings - and a nasty, nasty guy. A very nasty guy, people”
HOW on earth Don Jr can't tell when he's being played is stunning. The jovial nature and laughter during this very serious deposition wreaks of a play. The person asking the questions KNEW if she played to his chauvinistic , arrogant personality, he would give up whatever they needed. And he did.
Do you mean "reeks??"
"My properties are worth a billion dollars.. do not believe anything I say" How can he really say that in a single breath?

Not to give Don Jr. any credit, especially given his crappy attitude about the deposition, but that answer about GAAP is what almost anyone who isn't either actively in business school or a current accountant/former accountant would tell you about GAAP. I absolutely studied it in school, but I 100% remember nothing about it off the top of my head.
