I started with Trevor at the start of lockdown but then switched to Colbert. But for the last year or so, Seth has been absolutely killing it! He is the King of Satire. Although Jordan Klepper is a must-watch.
I like Seth too but this ain’t no golden era, we get the same story every night because of trump. Letterman was the golden age

Agreed. I’m completing a Masters in Stone Age Archaeology at a university in Italy (the archaeology of human evolution, one guess why I’m pursuing it abroad rather than from within the US system) and when people hear my accent and ask where I’m from, I’ve taken to lying and saying Canada. It’s gotten far too embarrassing to admit to US citizenship.
Of course, back when I did live in the States I was repeatedly told to leave if I didn’t like living in an anti-socialist system built to sabotage health care access and public services. So I did leave! Life is better outside.
Side note, I lived in South Africa from 2020 through 2023, and by and large people there loved Trump. No matter what he said about African countries and people, he is seen as strong on the economy and therefore a good leader. I had to dig in to conversations asking how he made the economy good and why they thought any gains were his… and that worked sometimes as people paused and realized he said it about himself. But still, the impression there was positive in a way I never anticipated. An anomaly.
