- I'm not very good at cooking so let's learn together! Wiener Schnitzel is simply a breaded piece of meat. This simple Austrian dish is a filling and tasty meal, perfect for a cold winter day!

Therapists should recommend your channel to their patients….so calming. Please…never….stop
thank you! :)
Agreed!
This.
Never a truer word was spoken!
Psychology is as much quackery as bleeding people with leaches. It has hurt so many people.
I have a lot of anxiety because my family and I are living in poverty at this time. Which, ironically, is a massive step up from living in a toxic/abusive situation but with a higher income we left a few years ago.
Any way, your channel, so far, has been gently exciting, and wholesomely adventurous. As you do whatever you end up doing in the clips, you invite people to vicariously try things with you without saying it.
I don't know if others are feeling the same, but somehow you express support and encouragement to try new stuf. It's like your videos show that the obstacles are really just a little mole hill that one can either step over or avoid while still achieving the goal. The world looks less scary and more inviting from your perspective.
I feel more calm more often after watching your stuf.
Thank you.
Thanks for your comment, it means a lot to read this, best of luck with everything! :)
Hi, I am a chef from Munic. I got a tip for your Schnitzel: Add half whipped Cream to your egg. Then move the pan with the Schitzel inside in circles on the fire durig frying. In the end u take the schitzel out of the Pan on a towel or sth.. Put the Oil away, maybe through a fine sieve, to use the oil again later. Add butter to your pan and put the Schitzel in again wile moving it. And voila, you got a incredible tasty, crispy AND fluffy Schitzel. The Cream makes the crust fluff away from the meat. Try it:)
Thanks for that! :)
@@just_alex You´re welcome:) I got a whole lot of tips if you like;) I follow your channel and enjoy every single video
Actually you made Schweineschnitzel. When I was younger I wanted to do all of the things that you are doing but never got to do it. Now that I am old and unable to. I want to thank you for being able to live vicariously through you.
or you could use clarified butter for frying and there should be so much oil in the pan that the schnitzel can float
Alex quote of the day.
The bubbling pan is fun to watch, sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle.
When adding meat (or anything) to hot oil, put the end in closest to you and lay it down going away from you. That way any oil splashes will not burn you.
You heated your plate and then set it on snow to eat! lol Love your videos! They are so relaxing and immersive. I feel like im there and your video today made me hungry!
Alex you’re living an awesome life. Please keep sharing your adventures! Cheers.
Yes, I've found Austrian to be very friendly people and they will go out of their way to help out tourist. I've enjoyed my 4 days stay Wien and it's a very beautiful country. Your videos is showing me what I could have done in my youth like you 😊. I've enjoyed your video and keep up the good work...from Canada. 👍👍
Every video of yours takes me to a lovely, cosy world. So comforting to be there, and come away so happy.
Indeed a lunch fit for a king, the crunch of the Schnitzel and the piquant flavour of the potato salad. And a sweeping view of the snow covered mountains to match.
HEAVEN!!!
Now I know what wiener schnitzel is. Your cooking video is the best I ever viewed with no frills or fancy chopping. Just good home cooking. Thanks for the learning experience.
Cheers for watching!
as a german lemme tell you thats one of the most traditional dishes to this day and german also love cow but pork is way cheaper and since the east of germany used to be way poorer than than the west. so still to this day you see more pork in east german and cow in west but it depends more on the money. i love this dish , it was really nice to see you cooking it in this beautiful enviroment!
The BEST is when you eat in nature and the views. 😊
Yesssss nothing beats having one of your vids to watch on a sunday morning
I watch these videos for the cabins and the views of the mountains. I stay for the cooking by a novice but always with a great outcome. Keep enjoying life and keep sharing your adventures with us.
Looks like a wonderful meal, cooked up in your wonderful mountain hut!
Potato salad in the states doesn’t usually look quite like yours.
Yours looks better!
most supermarkets in austria dont offer veil, butchers usually have veil available. about the pork meat, today restaurants often use pork too, even in austria because veil ist just so pricey as of now.
You're learning some very important life skills that are going to help you in ways you haven't even thought about yet. I'd like to see a combo mushroom forage and cooking video.
Thanks! I'll try do that!
So calming, little things in life.
Fantastic video so far Alex! Loving sharing your trip. The food, the location and your enthusiasm! Thank you! x
I love watching you cook food, so theraputic
The common man cook on a mountain perch. Unique.
Thnx Alex
Awww loved this....spent a winter in St Anton when I was younger, great view and your food looked great 👍 I'm sure I've had it before served with a cranberry sauce in the side which is nice....
My hubby watches you and your brother regularly, he loves you guys...and he's just started getting into mushroom foraging if you do a few incorporating cooking with your edible finds that would be really cool.
Eating outside with snow is the best view
You hit the nail on the head with cooking. When my mother taught me as a kid, she would teach how to know when something was cooked, or what to look for/taste for rather than following strict instructions. I does give you a much better feel for cooking and gives you the confidence to do your own thing.
Go on Alex your incredible going out and doing what you want to do and it's really cool. Such a tasty meal and what a place to cook and eat it. Keep doing what your doing. Big up to yourself.
Thanks!
Great video Alex! That absolutely is a meal fit for a king and that view is stunning. I would never want to leave! I really enjoyed this cooking video Alex. It's always nice to try different foods from different cultures. You should definitely do more of these videos and cook foods that are common for that particular place. Cheers 🍻
Thanks Ricky!
Wow, lovely vid, again. I love the views - just amazing.
Double yum and amazing view brilliant can't believe how beautiful the alps are they're on my bucket list to visit 👍👍
You make the dinner so easy to make. Thank you for the tips.
What a beautiful place, and your cooking is coming on great 👍
Hey Alex very nice to see here in Tirol. You're about 20 min far away from where i live. Greetings from Zillertal
You can drip the egg over the food with your fingers and keep breading to thicken it up and make it craggy for an even crunchier experience.
Hey Alex
I really like your new vids👌You have a great way of capturing the beautiful sights on video 🤩 Keep up the good work and enjoy your time in Austria
Greetings from the most western part of Austria 🇦🇹
Thank you!
Love the new mini series 👍
I love to watch you cook Alex. Just cook anything
Hello from Japan Alex - I am happy to find you knowing Japanese pork cutlet/Schnitzel - "Tonkatsu" and even the difference of the types of breadcrams^^. You are absolutely right! We have chicken versions, but not beef version. I've subscribed your channel for a while and watched quite a few - so enjoyable and relaxing. Please keep doing great work^^!
Thank you! 😊
This is called "Schnitzel Wiener Art" which means something like "variant of Wiener Schnitzel", because it`s with pork. A great trick is to spray the meat with some water. The water will later evaporate and the crust will then be lifted of the meat and become very fluffy, like a soufflé. The next step would be to use very special flour and breadcrumbs to make the perfect crust.
PS: next cooking video Kaiserschmarrn? :)
Yeah I wanna try Kaiserschmarrn!
Yes, it is true there are others who are probably better at cooking. But, you are very gifted at presenting, and hosting. So yes we’re going to enjoy cooking with Alex.
So excited for the next episode
Way you live the dream. Food looked so good. The view was amazing ! Cheers
Great job Alex, love the view
Love your videos! Takes a lot of effort the make them smooth. I feel like I am right there with you. Thank You
Fun to watch how you enjoy your life and cooking a Wiener Schnitzel. In Germany they also have a Puten Schnitzel, than they use Turkey in stead off Pork.
That’s the life mate! Keep it coming, top stuff!
I love your cooking, trouble is it makes me feel hungry.
Such a great channel Alex, how you don't have millions of views I will never know!
Parasol Mushrooms are really good if you cook em like schnitzel. First time my Austrian mum made them I thought it was really tender turkey meat. Also, breadcrumbs Austrians use are called semmelbrösel, made from hard kaiser rolls
Outstanding !!!
Loving the channel please keep the videos coming.
Thanks Simon!
8:20 you can also just use a wooden spoon and dip it into the oil. If its hot enough you can see small bubbles coming up from the spoon.
I really love your channel (just found it today) and your attempt on Schnitzel was really nice and lovely to watch!
I personally love our food in germany, it just feels so "home-like" :D
There is nothing better and nostalgic than coming from outside as a little kid and grandma already finnished the Schnitzel! Good old times when I was a youngster. My grandma was the reason why Schitzel will always be my favorite food of all time :D Thanks for bringing that feeling back!
Greetings from Germany!
Loved it.
Another great episode and a great idea for tomorrow's dinner. Cheers bud. On a slightly off-topic tangent, it's probably a good thing that you didn't use Veal because there are a lot of controversies that surround its production. I don't want people becoming upset with one of my favourite CZcamsrs over his lunch choice. Lol
Nice lunch, well prepared Alex. bUt the view was something else! Cheers.
Hi Alex, I was just wondering how much is cost to rent for a month this kind of hut? Please post more videos. Would love to watch every single day,I never get tired of you. I love it,very excited to see everything you do. I like timbre of your voice, very calming.
Thanks for watching! It was £1500 for a month here.
Did you find on Airbnb?
what a life man !!
you're living my dream
the sizzling pan is fun to watch😂😂 another great video
I just came back full from a dinner for my niece, but seeing the potato salad and pork schnitzel making me hungry again! Nom Nom!
Maybe you need a second dinner!
Me guata mucho tu contenido…! Desde Puerto Rico..! Bendiciones para ti🙏
Love it!
Awesome! Cheers!
The best way to learn to cook, is to do it! Lol. Fun times. Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉
Hey Alex, looks like you‘re having a great time up in the mountains, and fantstic job on the Schnitzel. Just wanted to say that pork is used a lot instead of veil in Austria. Chicken also tastes great as Schnitzel.
Here‘s how I do potato salad (btw Austrians often call it Erdäpfelsalat while Germans refer to Kartoffelsalat 😉):
Instead of using a premade sauce, I just mix the still warm potatoes with chopped up raw onion. I add vinegar, salt and pepper and let it sit until it has cooled to room temperature. Doing so gives you more of the taste of the potatoes.
Really enjoy your videos!
Greetings from eastern Austria. Daniel
Thanks for the info! Yeah I saw some recipes that do it like that! Will try next time.
More on cabin life and cooking, please!
Your videos calm me.
Very interesting and very appetising. Great meal Alex 👍
Thanks Trevor!
Awesome.
"Heats up dish, proceeds to eat on snow" :D Love your videos:p
Hi, Austrian Cook here.
You should use more oil in the Pan.
Btw the beer (Zipfer) is from a small town in Upper Austria called Zipf :)
Zipfer and Schnitzel. It just don't get any better than that in the food dept.
Great upload as always 👌
Ta!
Very inspiring, the cooking, the location, the view….You are getting almost professional ! try to bake now, Sacher torte, apple strudel, Viennese tart…with a Viennese coffee ! Will gladly share all of that with you there !!! Thanks for your beautiful videos Alex ❤
Thanks for watching. Mmmm 😋 all those sounds so tasty!
You may also serve the schnitzel with fries, or which is more traditional, roasted/baked potatoes. And also cranberry cream (idk if it's called cream in english).
love it!
Lingonberry marmelade goes very well with Wiener Schnitzel ;) Enjoy your stay!
Yum!
Nice video. When in Tirol eat what the Tyroleans eat, namely Tiroler gröstl definitely worth your time.
As grandma says about veg, if it grows below the ground boil from cold water and if it grows above the ground boil in boiling water.
Alex, philosopher chef! 💕🇦🇺
Great video, next time instead of dicing the onions try cutting it to thin slices, it's really great that way the potato salad.
Happy Thanksgiving Alex!
Another great vedio Alex 👏🥰👏
Your videos inspire me to work harder so I can go to places like this myself
Happy to hear that! :) Best wishes!
Do the flour/egg/bread crump thing twice to get a thicker coating. Your channel is one of the best things on YT
Hmmm yum!
More please what a place what a guy lol keep it up mate
Alex mate that view, oh i so need a weekend view like that ❤
Great job brother!
Love that you preheated the plate only to sit it down on top of the cold snow lol. Glad the plate didn't crack into pieces from the temperature change. So schnitzel is basically just country fried steak I guess, a gravy on that would be fantastic. I'm tuned in for your next cooking episode your videos are entertaining. Keep them coming dude
Thanks!
Never mention that to an austrian a schnitzel with gravy is considered a crime here, the germans do that tho
Fair play to you Alex you are living your life well ,exploring ,learning ,and having fun ,keep going on the right tracks 👍
I was married by 24 years old and have had a pretty good life ,although I wished we'd done the camper van life in our youth ,we did all the package holidays to many destinations like most people ,but it never occurred to me at the time to buy a van and travel Europe etc .
Now though at age 58 I'm doing just that ,solo by myself ,and the wife is happy doing her own thing while I'm away . At the mo I have a small van ,but in the near future I plan to get something bigger so we can both go away 😁
Thanks, best of luck with your travels! :)
I really like how he thought to include what vegetarians can do to have a similar meal. Most people don't do that and it makes me happy
Absolutely love it!!!! Living the dream.....let's see some more cooking videos in the hut....in fact anything hut wise is brilliant content. Keep us updated, don't go completely off grid haha
Thanks
Yes! Do a slow roast bbq! Has to be done! 😋
love it 😋
Would love to see more great job mate
Thanks!
pro tip from vienna: no matter how thin the meet is cut, allwas smash it with a hammer (schnitzelklopfer) or a heavy pan. that way the fibers of the meet will tear and the schnitzel will be softer and better. mahlzeit!
ahhh thanks for the tips! :)
more more more , do what you want!!
Thanks Alex, for making a schnitzel cooking video enjoyable to watch!
Thanks for watching!
perfect
Love to cook with Alex, might we have a ep, of all of your cutlery and ways to sharpen
Just post whatever you do, I love to see your videos!
Very good video. Keep going with the cooking vids.
