Yeah, after seeing what Davros had planned I had just one thought. Somebody needs to tell Davros to look up the meaning of the phrase "Pyrrhic Victory". Davros is gloating about winning. Winning what there will be NOTHING left.
I like how, after putting us through the horror of the Time War and the weight it has on the Doctor's soul, you end the video on an uplifting note of hope.

I always feel amused when people in doctor who are like “you don’t know what it’s like!” To the Doctor

its like "No you dont know what it's like!" You can see some of that come out in his thirteenth incarnation in that one zygon episode
The doctor knows the true meaning of it and seen a war bigger than what they know
Honestly, that was always lurking in each Doctor. That feeling of "oh, you silly child. You truly believe I don't get it... don't you?" Capaldi's speech in the Zygon Inversion/Invasion just let it loose. Tennant let it out some in Waters of Mars, but Capaldi opened up a whole can of anguish and showed everyone exactly who they were dealing with.
@@josefzalusky7307 yeah and only Capaldi truely had the maturity to pull it off, it wouldnt have worked with ANY other doctor!
I think that's the point.
They created the doctor as a character who has this terrible past, and an unimaginable burden on his shoulders. But he doesnt usually show it, and carries himself in such a way that doesn't hint at it.
I think the point is to highlight how when people feel alone and angry, they do stupid things. And its those moments when the doctor shows them that he understands them, and they arent alone in how they feel. Those are the moments they write him best, because everyone has felt angry, scared and alone or isolated before in life. Thinking nobody else understands them. And these scenes are there to tell the audience that when you feel that way, you arent alone.

It never really occurred to me before, but I can see that what the Doctor does isn't just a choice he tries to live past, he repeats it all the time, every day, every place the TARDIS takes him.
Davros said his final victory was showing the Doctor how many died in his name, that he always runs, never looking back out of shame, but that's wrong.
He repeats the choice he made on Gallifrey every episode, or the choice he thought he made - sacrificing a few to save the many. With every villain he fought, that choice haunted him yet he never faltered in his belief and desire to do the most amount of good one man can.
The Doctor never liked war or soldiers as they remind him of himself. Everyone says they knew what war was like and Doctor didn’t, but that’s because he was always against war, but he was the biggest warrior of them all. Only one way to describe this... man. The destroyer of worlds. The most feared man in the universe who they even locked in the pandorica. A mad man in a blue box.

The Day of the Doctor is my number 1 Dr Who episode ever. Though Tom Baker is ny Dr, that episode is undeniably the best. Period.

Oh that is so brilliant. Especially the way it weaves in everything said in the series that isn't specifically about the Time War...but it actually is.
i think a major reason that Whitaker isn't this emotive is because they got rid of all the guilt that made the doctor such an interesting and conflicted character
@Ayush boi they could of made her amazing, but instead they threw in that timeless child nonsense taking away everything that made the doctor special in the first place, as he said himself "I am an idiot with a box" but now she is this god like being that had countless unknown lives for countless millenia before the first doctor.

It’s even sadder that The Doctor never was the one who destroyed the Daleks and Time Lords, he only thought he did. He always saved himself with Clara’s help and he had to wait hundreds of years to find that out
At the end of this episode with the Curator the future version of Doctor. 11 asks, "Is that what I'm supposed to do now go looking for Gallifrey?" Shortly after Curator said, "or perhaps it doesn't matter either way" I think they planned ahead for Gallifrey to be destroyed again at some point...

Dogstar 2020 its not canon cause no sensible fam is taking the timeless child garbage into the same wonderful set of other brilliant amazing Doctor Who stories which made the stow as incredible as we know

It's just about taking a stand. Just that, not taking something shoved down our throat. Yes, "officially" it would still be canon but if it becomes a cultural part of the fanbase to refuse the bullshit thrown at us, the "official" doesn't really matter as it's always about the community, a show doesn't exists without it's community.

Just about refusing Chibnal's shit and taking a stand. For every kind thing Doctor Who has brought into our saturday lives, that's the least we can do for a show that gave us masterpieces like "Heaven's Sent".

I love the lore of dotor who. I spent a week learning and only just scratched the surface. From the great intelligence and the old gods to the dark times of the time lords, the start of the time war and the fledgling empires. And even the show. Full of amazing quotes referencing its history. It makes you really wonder.

I feel like Peter Capaldi might be the last Doctor to truly show us the Doctors pain for the Time War. I don’t doubt Jodie Whittaker, but with the new political messages I don’t think they’d express such emotions that could make the beauty of this video.

because theres a whole generation of Milleninal snow flakes who have only seen new who and love the young hunky first three doctors of this era, then finally comes a man who LOOKS his age and has the gravitas and acting chops to match it! Remember the doctor is somewhere between 2000/4000 years old and has seen and done things we cant imagine, with THIS face, you can believe it. And they cant stand it! This doctor cant get romantic with his companion, theres this awful thing called ":friendship" (and yes kids, males and females CAN be friends without attraction!)

He saved it and then the Master destroys it again. Years of living with guilt and then find relief in saving his people only to learn it was destroyed by another.
