    I absolutely loved Alabama and their wonderful harmony. They sing together as only family can. Teddy and Jeff are Randy's cousins. I have to admit my favorite is the feel good song, "If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band). Jeff opens up his case, and makes magic. I lived in Houston when it came out. It was everywhere, everyday, all the time. We still couldn't get enough. I think they might have even been playing this country favorite on the album rock stations. Great memories of those years.

    Yeah, they revolutionized Country Music in the 80s, less twangy & honky-tonk, more driving drum & bass..the saying was rebel enough for kids, but your parents will like the harmonies & values!!!! YeeHaw

    I will say we saw them 2 yrs ago in Salisbury, MD.. and Randy Owen sounded exactly like he does in this video. 35/40 yrs later. His cousin on the right was still with him.. his cousin on the left had passed away.. but it was another cousin taking his place.. families have great harmonies and great love.

    Nice reaction. in the 80's and maybe a little less in th 90's iit was Alabama in the forfront of Country music. They did it their way and never let any one tell them how it should be done. With as many different styles in their songs - it would appeal to a greater audiance then others might. I feel some of their songs weren't for the " Country " fan but for fan's of other music gernes.

    If you have a son, find their song, "The Boy". It's tragic that they never released it, likely due to Teddy Gentry being lead vocalist rather than the usual Randy Owens.

    One of the few things that consistently bothers me is when producers take a well written song and add 200 strings to it. It detracts from the song, for me. I did appreciate the cleverness of the lyrics and the broad appeal- don’t get me wrong.
    It’s just a problem I have always had. I always hated when they did it. My bummer.

    • @HarriBestReactions

    • @iandowney4630
      @iandowney4630 Před 4 měsíci

      @@HarriBestReactions I do like strings- in Classical music, mostly. Not so much in pop music. A couple of violins, a cello, can work in certain pop songs, but I don’t like the addition of a symphony of strings- as they did with this song.
      I’m sorry if I came off sounding like I disliked strings. Some of my favorite orchestral musicians play strings!
      Thanks so much for this channel, Hari. It’s wonderful to be able to share your reactions to such a wide variety of great music. You’ve got me hooked…in the best sense of the word 😉

    I'm not a fan of Alabama's music but I like "Love In The First Degree".
    This song by Alabama is too good to be limited to one genre, Harri.
