@@SocialTrading if there is anywhere you could direct me to learn how to make informed decisions about when to invest or how to read the market rather than me just guess that the market might go up… so many ‘cowboys’ on CZcams, hard to know who to believe or follow.
For someone who claims to have no clue what they're doing, you sure do know a lot!!!
Seems to happen frequently, usually those who have it all figured out are idiots and those who think there is much more to learn are intelligent.
Word of advice for etoro newbies:
Every investment choice should be made based on the risk involved for the individual, their investment goals and strategies. What is right for one investor may not be for another like in the case of Copy Trading. Keep these basic differences and similarities in mind as you research your investments. Money is hard to lose these pandemic times.

Thank you for deeper teachings..I tried Nasdaq 100 with leverage yesterday for the first time ,and I was mixed emotion of panic, greedy ,nervous and I decide to close on 50dollar plus to be able to eat my dinner at peace☺☺

It's like that or not? if not it means that whole thing that we see in trades like Rtoro is virtual things! Or if it's real percentage how you can lose your whole stock , how its possible???*(e.g. set 100%= whole Trade NO SET FOR STOP LOST) How you lose all of your invested money when the Tesla is not bankrupted! or about the silver, I think It never loses the whole value in market? can anyone explain it to me?

The only thing that sucks about leverage trading especially if you set a shallow stop loss is during high volume and volatility you can get stopped out of a 30% winning long. Ive had trade that had 3k in profit get stopped out when mark price dropped under my stop loss for 1 min b4 it rocketed up to what would have been a 50% take profit mark with 6k profit. AHHHHHH! Lesson learned. Now I utilize trailing stop loss when available. So far so good. I will know at the end of the year when I crunch numbers and see if it has been efficient or not. Quite possibly I could be just slowly chipping away at overall gains try to prevent a few rare occurrences. Lol
Best Explanation. I got NAGA TRADING account. Their manager didn't explain me Leverage. Even I asked questions. As New. I lost £1400 in one night. But thank you very helpful video

Gr8 video...thanks...leverage of 1:10 (preset) almost wiped me out and the commodity bought was CLOSED within the day (lost $12/barrel). Lost 50% of my equity. Switched to SELL soon after closing the cfd and next day reduced the loss to 25%. The price nose dived... It was a crazy 3 days...🙄

However, this amplifies my concerns related to trading with leverage, especially on eToro. Their default trading, whenever I want to open a trade, is set on X5 leverage, which for an inexperienced trader would easily fool you into thinking you are simply buying the real stock without even knowing there is a leverage behind and you could lose your money so much faster. I believe eToro set X5 leverage on default as on this makes them the most money out of inexperienced traders. Anyone else experienced this?

I’m only ever copytrading, so it’s always in other peoples hands to a large degree :)
if there were different DEFI leverage protocols like WOWswap and DYDX when I started trading before, I wouldn't have even looked towards Binance and Bitmex
Which I advise you to do as well. You can effectively, use leverage. Shorts and stuff without KYC and the risk of your account just getting blocked
I was actually using DYDX at the time...

🤔Why we need leverage? Why can’t we just add more money (eg double amount for X2 leverage, 5 times amount for X5 leverage etc.)? How it makes difference adding money from increasing leverage?

I've messed with trading and investing on and off for a few years now after having some positive experiences as a crypto day trader.. I've watched countless videos over this time trying to guage a better understanding of the actual processes and what's needed to know along with their explanations but I must say that this video was better than any other I've watched to date!!
I already had an okayish understanding of leverage as I've also played around with the fake money examples like on plus500 but you really explained it in a way I now feel I have a full understanding of it and how it's basically just a multiplier as apposed to only kind of getting that a higher leverage meant higher profit/loss!!

Thank you so much. I've wondered about whether to go really back to the basics for a while now. When I first started the channel I was going over the basics a lot, but now it's more copy trading updates etc. I'm currently trying to get all the right info from eToro about how they produce their profit stats, but they're not replying for some reason - I think that would be a hugely helpful video though.
"leverage trading" From experience - sure use it, but not beyond 2x! It took me about 7 years to get my money back from beginner mistakes utilising high leverage - read 50 -100x leverage. It's exciting, but personally I lost cash. It didn't effect my standard of life, but I regret it. Just don't do it as a beginner.

If you purchased shares in a company, and THEN the stock became leveraged, does this all still apply to the previously purchased shares?

I appreciate that you are helping eToro users free of charge. All the same, I wish you would not over-explain (as if we are a bit simple) and introduce new subjects into your videos too and duplicating examples as well. I am ripping my hair out listening to a lot of irrelevant diversions that detract from the key topic points - in this case on leveraging. Please keep it simple and concise. E.g., for example was it necessary to give two share price examples at the start. One would have done fine. These videos could be half as long and still contain the same value.
Hey man, solid video but I have one question: Let‘s say I invest 100$ on a x5 leverage and set my SL to 50%. How much can I loose in a worst case scenario? Is it 500$ (full leveraged buying power) or is the SL protecting me of any loss above 50$ in this case?
I love the way you share the emotional involvement in trading because it's easier to see how easy it would be too get emotionally involved and start chasing trades in a mad panic to recover losses.🤑 Great Job! Thanks!

Great video helped me understand the concept on leverage, however I’m still abit confused on the point of it like if I use 5x leverage on £1000 and then make a 100% profit I would be getting £10k but then I give the 80% back and I still have £2k which I would of had anyway? Or do I literally get to just keep the 10k what I have made? Any input would be nice thanks.

The stop loss is what kills people on CFD's. If a stock sharply declines your trade will automatically close, which sucks if you want to hold onto a stock for a while.
You could always set the Stop Loss really low if you want... I just want to make sure I don't lose too much in sharp, or even slow declines.

Trade with leverage only on the trend - that's the main rule. And better learn to use Metamask and dexs right away, like a dydx and WOWswap
