Hello sir! It's 4:40am as of right now and I want to thank you for your incredible content, I've been binge-watching your hour-long videos for a while now and I'm so glad to have found your channel. I was feeling hopeless and then I remembered one of the portrait commentaries you posted and then I started to watch your other videos. I hope to start 2021 with you as one of my favorite pastimes. Sorry if this was random, I just thought it was illegal to go and not leave a message when I'm literally so happy because I was able to overcome a hard time because of you. I feel proud of myself! Thank you again :>>
This is honestly pretty awesome. Art schools are only useful for the critiques that you get and the variety of student work you can see. The fact that you're doing this on your free time is pretty sweet.
Will you keep uploading these ? They're interesting to listen to on the background! :D Also, I said before, tho i dont think you remember it, I started really diving into art everyday with daily studies and such ever since I saw your Dungeon party entering piece last year which was uploaded quite some time ago. Now, 1 year later I actually got a job at an indie RPG as artist :D Thanks for being a big inspiration
Love your videos, they are very helpful. Hope to see more portfolio reviews like this as well. I often struggle on feeling stumped as were to push my art next. Your videos really help.
Hey man! I love your work, you are awesome! Could you please make a video where you explain how you are recording your screen while you work and how you process your videos in order to upload them to youtube? Thank you!
I have only taken a month or so break recently and I can't even draw a hand any more... Does this ever happen to anyone else? I really feel like if you don't use it you loose it where Art is concerned. I'm a bit paranoid I won't get it back though. 2 days of hand studies and my work looks like garbage. Anyone else?
Hey man it happens to everyone, staying in the flow is easier when you draw daily but it isn't necessary either. Maybe you are grasping concepts that are a bit further ahead of your muscle memory making you feel off balanced. Art is hard and somedays you make good work and somedays you flail but the best way to get more good days is to keep doing what you are doing.
When u understand the structure you never lose it. My guess is that you had some good refenrence pictures for the ones you did a month ago. try using the same reference and see if you really gotten worse which I dont think. But yeah when you understand the structure and the shapes you wont lose it.
The portfolios mostly aren't full application portfolios - for most people they're just a collection of some of the work they've done for fun. So be aware that it's not necessarily a good guide to an application portfolio :)

@@chiefkamachi1 Maybe your right. I'm probably a bit old to get into this. Thanks for the advice.
What I don't understand is if those are portfolios of people who apply for a college, or portfolios of people applying for a job.
It seems like its for both.
@@Daniel-qi3qv ok, because I'm taking this as a reference for my application to art school
