I thumbs upped for the cat :D
I like the cat so much. Hi Milo
Can't believe I'm watching Dave's lightbox session! WOW! Well uhm, question tho, at 1:19:10 you mentioned that sometimes your art design might get scratched... that means you still can't upload it to your portfolio because it's still the studio's output... right? Basically, even if it's scratch, it's not yours... right?
1:44:57 also, Mr. Greco, I appreciate this little talk you gave right here. I just got rejected on a job interview last Saturday and I put my whole Sat and Sun to giving myself a break. It's now Monday and I decided to watch your Lightbox as a start of me picking myself back! Four years since I graduated. I'm not wasting my time, I'm learning as I go. WE CAN DO THIS, GUYS! NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS
im 2 years late and somehow havent seen this until now haha. but really amazing work, super helpful and insightful vid, thanks so much! :)
I listen to metalcore all the time while working on art 😅 no shame in that lol! But absolutely love this process. Seeing you build it from the ground up is just amazing. I’ve been trying to find ways to improve once I realized I had improved my painting skills faster than I thought I would. Working in a game industry is a dream and I feel like I may get closer to it, thank you for the inspiration and video in detail! 😀😀
Thank you to share , this my inspiration to do the art. I love all your art on artstation also
Thank you for uploading this as well, Dave!
You nailed that talk Dave.
I used to super look forward to your more frequent videos! The only person I paid attention to those notifications for. I do love just checking you out on twitch if I manage to catch you at the right time, though. I hope, at some point, to see you back on youtube when your life aligns with you being able to get back into it.
Great demo. Always like your Designs, there were so many good ideas
Wow! Fantastic concept drawing.
That's great. Keep our meeting! 👍
Watch the video to the end.
Have a happy new week!
Dave talking very serious about art. Meanwhile, his cat: 😸😸😸

Thank you for this. this is really helpful and informative * pat pats the cat *
Love your videos man! Keep doing these
I'm a 24 year old guy currently studying concept art and illustration. I currently struggle the most with making ideas flow in my mind when i'm working on a piece. Like i have to do 3 characters and i feel stuck, all the time. It seems that i can't find a point where to start. I always have to open sites like Pinterest, etc to be inspired but the result is that i'm constantly influenced by what i see and I end up copying that reference. I'd like to know how i can develop a flexible mind so that i can work efficiently, faster and most of all, happy.
Yo you sound just like me but I’m a tattoo artist .. coming up with concepts have def gotten stale for me . I researched something about dynamic thinking with Peter Han or imaginative/dynamic sketching .. I’d watched those , hope this helps
This is so cool! Love your videos and your art! Are you by chance available for commissions?
Very powerful video..thank you. A special question is your equipment, apart from the Wacom tablet.
I'm interested in your hardware in detail, because I also have one and my Wacom Sintiq Pro 32" is spinning around since I have it.
It's really cool of you to list them for me =) Nice work and have a lot of fun
thanks a lot

Are you done posting videos? Just recently discovered your channel and it's very inspiring.
I plan to be back soonish! I had gotten a new job that took me away but I miss it a ton!

@@DaveGreco nice !
@@DaveGreco🔥🔥
Hey dave I noticed when using your main brush it doesn't register little brush strokes, any idea why?
dave i miss your videos! why dont you post anymore?
I am actually in the works for a new intro and outro to start making content for youtube again. RL got a little crazy with work. So im hoping to soon!
@@DaveGreco great. It's a good news. And thank you for responding, I am over the moon now 😊. I have learnt everything from your videos. You are my mentor.
master what size canvas do you use?
how do i get that rhombus brush
to me concept art is a front ,behind view ,right and left view of a character design art can be mixed up as illustration that can all so give a sense of a story
👍🏻
hey, dave, seeing as you are my favorite artist and being an artist myself, id love to hear your thoughts on AI art. i personally am really upset with it existing in the first place but I'm curious to hear what you have to say
He's talked about it on stream months ago and he did actually have one pretty unique and comforting point about it which is that the art industry is currently run by artists who will gatekeep AI art from taking over the industry overnight even if the technology does advance rapidly. Other than that, he's basically said "idgaf, I'll never stop painting"
It doesn't matter how "cost effective" it can potentially be use AI generation, artists will still be deciding what's "good and bad art", and people looking to have art made value their opinions. Current-day AI prompters are people who never had an interest in art their entire lives to begin with. They don't know about construction, lighting, composition, shape language etc. They won't make it in the business simply because it's not their interest passion. NFT and cryptobros who came out on top of Ponzi schemes are also not businessmen.
Hi, post new videos, cordialement.
No entendí ni mergas!!! xD pero lo haces ver tan fácil!!!
Hi, has anyone ever told you, you look like Ryan Reynold?
Cat
question here...how is it working with EA who are known to really not put too much effort into their videogames as they constantly use assets from like 10 years ago? I know this is a hard question but...i think since I am the only one here why not ask it :P
Using assets from years ago has nothing to do with being a bad game/company. It's just being smart about using resources. I'd rather have a company spend their budget on what matters than spending it on remaking a tree so it would be a 2021 tree rather than a 2011 one. Not defending EA here, just pointing out something that shouldn't be an argument against game devs. Reusing assets is way more common than what you think.
