  • The Philippines has had a long stretch of low rainfall this past couple of months but there have been dryer years as noted in this video. What are the average temps and rainfall in the Philippines? Charts are provided in this video. El Nino is partly the cause of this drought but La Nina is coming soon and should bring more wet weather.

    More than 3 months no rain here on Southern Negros. My brgy water runs about 30 minutes every evening, I get maybe 20-30 liters a day. I fill my truck with containers every few days and pump water from the hand pump near town. I'm one of the only expats to live where I do and the looks I get while pumping water and filling containers is priceless. Life is good, so blessed to call the Philippines home.

      I grew up on a farm with one of those hand pumps, and then we got an electric pump...bringing us into the modern age. LOL!

    Currently working in Angeles City, Pampanga and this year we have had about 3 hours rain in total. Working in the construction industry when it's 38-40C is no fun. Water supply to my apartment, getting drinking water isn't a problem. Need to drink at least 3 liters of water a day to stay hydrated. Bring on the rainy season.

    Hi Amigo Rod, yes we heard from Ala yesterday that it was raining there and also from Inday in Bohol they were getting rain, although Inday thought it might have been from cloud dusting? I didn't mind the rain at all when we were living there, it just cooled the air down so nice and was not cold at all compared to here in Wellington Province where often times we can get 4 seasons in one day, not good when my dearest is trying to get the laundry dry. LoL. Take care Rod and God bless you and Arlene.

      Fortunately, these rains have been mostly on the steady light side so not much flooding problem here Bob. Cloudy again today so hoping for more much needed moisture.

    After living in Phoenix, It always surprises me to hear people talk about not getting rain for a month or two. Here in NC, we're getting a lot more rain like most places do and it is nice but can have drawbacks. A festival we were supposed to attend had been postponed twice now because of rain.
    Glad to see things are improving there, stay dry. 😁👍

      LOL! I agree. It is just that this huge population needs a lot of water and the limited reservoirs deplete quickly when the rain stops John.

    We have 10 water jugs and they pick them up 3 time a week in Tubigon. So no problem so far.

      I bought 6 5 gallon water jugs at the start of the lockdowns fearing that the water companies might get ill and close or slow operations and I learned to keep them full during typhoon Odette as well Brian.

    Our weather pattern in Naval, Biliran mirrors yours for the past few months. We've had water outages for the past two weeks. The rain here last night and today is very welcome.

    Rod, you see how fast your clothes could dry in the sunlight. It can dry up within minutes not hours. That's how hot it is in the Philippines. So when it rains just a little bit, you can see the water literally evaporate into the sky. 😂

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  Před 2 měsíci +1

      That is true Neil. I remember when I move to Phoenix, AZ, did wash and hung them out in that very dry sunny days and it dried in minutes also. Here it is the humidity that can make it "sticky" uncomfortable.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1

      Probably will not become a typhoon either but forecasters have been fooled in the past saying "don't worry" and it turns into a major typhoon when it hits the very warm PH sea.
