I am always building rail systems to every networks to power all the hubs and the center. So while doing that, i add solar and wind around the planet and never run out of power
Idea for another video. Never seen a single video about that. But wind is defintly the best source for infinite power. If the wind parks are spread out far enough 50% of the turbines run on almost any time. Turbine are dirty cheap. Produce significantly more power. And the most important it is very easy to install. Right from the start. And the distance needed is alot shorter than most people think. 15 power extender (3 packs) between 3-4 wind parks is enough to make it work stable. The more location the more stable the power supply gets. Of course. They can also be placed along a rail line, which makes it even easier to install and later upgraded.
The leveling block makes the flat surfaces at the gateways. You can use multiple leveling blocks (each use makes a cube of dirt) to “draw” your surfaces if you don’t want to use the terrain tool or want to be very precise
Titanium isn't exactly astronium haha, not hard to find, it's pretty easy to automate nanocarbon production with a build But sometimes it's not about pure numbers, some people prefer a million small wind turbines and don't use the XL ones but i love those
@@Skinnyguy35 are you getting partial power? the small solars need to see the sun to start tracking so i rotate the medium silos (with c or v) until they have all faced the sun and are "activated", then they should continue to track. if no power at all might be too close to the top of the gateway and need to build higher up
@interslice - I have an interesting video showcase/concept that you may find worth going over. Do you have a social media I can contact you directly on such as discord?
That automated small solar panel production is really smart. Like it alot. 👍
You can use couple button repeater on backpack to automate that as well
I really liked how you were printing the small solar panels. Thanks for showing that part!
Game changer, totally agreed
I made a train with the mini solar panels but could not find a simple way to print them... Thank you for informing me...
this is op. i used this and basically a medium solar panel is = rtg
You could run a button repeater clock then hook on back pack for automated printing. Same set up you have, just add the repeaters
Could you explain this better please? I'm terrible at automation and can't figure this out

This is genus and it’s very handy for a base on Calidor
Building this as we speak, thank you!

2:54 you can just press enter to print, don't need to press de button
im pretty sure that the small printer can print small solar panels and wind turbines but i could be wrong
They can’t. I discovered this yesterday when I was trying to mass produce them :/
Theres an overlap of like 75% with small printer and the backpack, but some things like those and a few others cant
Small printer only prints medium power units unfortunately.

This is new info to me, so the wind isn't the same across the planet? Interesting, I assumed if there's wind, it's across entire planet
i thought if you put more than 10 small solars on a platform there is a limit to the power that one type will generate
Could you set up a clock with a button repeater and have it press the button on you backpack? I haven't tried it yet but now I'm curious
Yes you can! I found this out by accident. And once it's set up, it'll automatically clip on back back when you walk up
@@DanimalUpchurch cool! So you can autonomously keep printing wind turbines from your backpack while afk?
So the small solar don't need to be upside down? I'm thinking tall storage with solar silos
im more interested in how to make such flat top surface to put the platform, it's hard to flatten the downside

Yep, the leveling block will actually be perfectly level of used at center of gateway
I mean like you could just get a bunch of RTG's but I guess if you can't be bothered finding the titanium or doing the rest then this also works

im at the north pole, above the gateway. no terrain blocking and not getting full power.
all planets :)
@@interslicer do you know of any possible reasons why I’m not getting full power? I’d rather this setup then the upside down solars :/

quik solution
8 RTG's you get lots from quests and the rest of the matierial is do able eraly on and very easy
how fast can you charge batterys
how do you get the platforms upside down like that?
i made a + shaped section of dirt in the middle of the upside down and right side up platforms for them to sit on
do they get less power becuase they on the pole and not equator?
nope its the same. in astroneer you either have full solar power or no solar power.
Whta would you even need so much power for ?
I dunno have you seen his mega sorter video?
How did you set upside down these platforms?
theres a small amount of terrain above them and they are sitting on it
@@interslicer😁😁😁
Thank you, sir!
