For people that are wondering how to auto mate small canisters, you can find a resin patch then have a auto extractor getting it

Yeah I was just about to say this, I’ve had a Auto Extractor on a Resin spot on Calidor for 3 days now! It’s already filled up a Large Canister and the Extractor STILL has a half green bar!
@@Pine0wlple I think that the thumper leads to resource regen as weird as it sounds, I thumped away some convenient copper right by my base until it was gone, and it's back. Idk if that's intended though.

I'm wondering if it'd be better build the full farm near the core and have the train bring the scrap to the base or have the farm in the base and use the train to bring astronium

Just get a full 400 astronium from the core honestly it would be quicker to use the train to transport the canister but not the astronium
For anyone having a problem with overflow and backup using this setup here's a quick easy fix that should help out:
I found a super easy simple fix for your problem, set up everything in the video exactly how it's shown except do not connect the storage sensor PIN to the trade platform but instead connect the storage sensor PIN to a count repeater, set the count repeater to its lowest setting of 2, then connect the count repeater PIN to the trade platform, also set the storage sensor mode for full or empty then start the system with the trade platform.
What that will do is when the medium storage is full it'll activate the storage sensor once bringing the count repeater to 1 then when it is emptied it'll activate the storage sensor again bringing the count repeater to 2 which will reactivate the trade platform no delays no overflows and it's maintenance-free I hope this helps.

I made the same setup, except it doesn’t work for some reason. I have it going into an extra large scrapper, and yet by the time the trade rocket gets back there’s still jump jets left in the storage so it backs up. Is there a way to fix this?
edit: Okay, so I did fix it. I disconnected the storage sensor from the trade platform and changed it from “full or empty” to “empty or not empty”. I then put a count repeater set to 2 on top of it, and then connected that to the trade platform. The sensor would activate when the trade platform dispensed the jump jets onto the storage (first out of two activations) and then once it’s empty, it activates again which trips the count repeater to activate the trade platform. So, if anyone else has this issue I recommend you do this. And yes, at least for me, my scrapper still runs constantly with this modification.
I just spent 4 hours on my base making this. I used my tier 3 drill vehicle to dig down the the middle of the earth finding astrononium and then it took me 4 hours to set up every thing. This helped me complete my base to the max thank you. I CAN MAKE ANYTHING NOW LETSSS GOI

With that much time you would have mined every needed resource manually and not need the scrap.
you could get the setup:
2 soil canisters: 3 scrap
using medium buggy horns given you are willing to unpack them all before putting them into the scrapper
also:
2 soil canisters: 3 scrap
using (oxygenator/medium wind turbine) given you are willing to unpack+put them in the shredder and use a trade platform to loop aluminium (more scrap is produced in the process than used to make aluminium)
Edit, also:
2 soil canisters: 3 scrap
Using tall storage if you are willing to unpack+put them in the shredder
Now soil canisters only give 0.25 scrap, is there any better way now to make scrap with soil ?

I usually go with wolframite on calador. V-Tol and winch makes lugging large canisters easy enough. But my auto scrapper is a lazy one attached to an auto fuel depot. Scrap automatically, trade ammonium when either a wind or solar panel gain or lose power (basically constant)

Did nobody notice that if the shredder(s) don’t shred fast enough, the system gets messed up since some off the jump jets get placed/stuck on the atronium storage?
It shouldn't happen, but just in case check the most upvoted comments, they might have a workaround 😊
i got the same thing now im confused what to do
If you change the med storage got the jump jets to a silo and change the sensor to empty or not empty it will send the rocket when it emptys and will take "two loads" but will only launch the rocket when the silo emptys. I also put a XL scrapper on a large rover with extra slots so it doesn't pause the scrapping at all. This took me Abt 2 hours to figure out so kuya could fix his vid so it's reliable.

I personally use Wolframite deposits on moon, letting extractor run there for a while while filling up enire large silo and comming back home where I craft it into floodlights that I then scrap. 1 : 1.5 ratio

Since the Rails update is now out, you can have a scheduled train arrive and depart, I don’t know if that does work but it would automate the setup a lot more.

so i followed this but i used a XL platform C with 3 large shredders and then one of the large cans on the same platform for cheaper automation since the large can is free, Thanks for the video! it really helped me a ton

I have one of those platforms at the base but, I have fun putting the XL shredder on the large rover and going with a couple of medium silos on my butt scrapping everything I can fit in the shredder. I also take a research chamber at times.

Using a wide mod on leveling mode on the floor of a gateway chamber, you can then collect infinite dirt from it using a player drill or crane. Have a crane supplying the soil centrifuge and it's completely automatic and afkable. If on a server, you can glitch the crane to keep drilling without any buttons pressed. Alt tab and profit. Bonus is that it's server friendly, since it minimally modifies terrain and doesn't contribute to save file bloat.

with the new update that added the train, you can use it to raise the astronium to the surface, instead of building the structure below, in addition to providing energy from the base to the collector. I've watched your videos for a while but I don't remember commenting
*Astroneer was the most fascinating puzzle game i ever played.* I solved it with 3 buddies. We all were clueless and figured things out ourselves over the course of a week. The puzzle got repetitive tho after i think leaving the planet. I think there would've been more hours of content if we didn't know which planets contained which resources. We would've had to explore much more and discover materials, maybe even finding out how to use them.
I rly wish i could re-experience this puzzle for the first time. It's been a while so if theres an option to disable crafting recipes or guides on where to find materials, i will come back. Do these options exist?
Now the game implements missions, which you can follow or not, it's up to you. But if you do, they will guide you gently through most of the things you can do in the game. I'm not sure about what you mean with disabling recipes

I remember finding out how to make infinite rocket thrusters - if you recycled the solid fuel thruster it would give 2 scrap, which could be traded for 1 aluminum and 1 ammonium, making a new thruster, though im not sure if it works anymore

I knew the resin could be a cheap way to get scrap but never used it myself. Seems like I have to try it now.

If you all really want infinite scrap you can use autominers. You won't be mining resin though but wolframite. You can then smelt it in furnace and then print flood lights. They are worth 1.5 scrap. You can automate this fully and you won't have to go mine for soil every time. If you thing it is slow you can always add more miners, autoarms, etc.
That's another cool way to do it 😊

tried making the first farm, it may be a little broken in the current update as the soil centrifuge will overload the small printer with resin, causing it to overload and spit resin everywhere. I found a workaround but it requires babysitting the farm

Now with trains we can make an 100% auto scrap farm in the surface. (And use rails unlike extensors)

Am I able to hook up an auto arm to the resource container in the first farm to feed a trade platform? I am trying this but the shredder stops filling the container when I have output on and the auto arm only grabs scrap from the shredder
Also is there a way to stop the printer from printing canisters onto the ground when the canister storage in front of it is full? This is happening when my scrap container fills up
About the first question, it's not clear to me, can you post a picture at my help channel on discord?
About the second question, you could place a storage sensor set to full/not full on the canister. Pull it's wire to the platform with the printer. When the canister is filled up, it should send a signal to the platform with the printer and switch it off. If it doesn't, add a power switch to provide power to the printer. Connect the power sensor wire to the power switch that will cut off power when the canister is full

I need some help with the second farm, when the trade platform arrives the auto arm hasn't picked up all the solid fuel jetpacks yet so some of the remaining jetpacks are placed into the spot where the astronium needs to be and I have to take it out. If there is a way to fix this then that would be awesome. Also I built the first farm and it was really good, thanks for the tutorial, It helped me out a lot!

@@jizzy8816 I disconnected the storage sensor line from the medium storage and added a count repeater on the setting of 2, then hooked up the count repeater hook to the medium storage and linked up the storage sensor hook to the count repeater, I got the fix from another user...

the astronium one did not work for me does it have to be i a certain version of the game or something?
I'm having an issue the rocket goes off when the storage is empty as expected, but also when it's full (right after it arrives it goes off again, and when it comes back (from the second consecutive time) it unloads the rockets on the platform that has the astronium (as it loads the astronium it unloads on those empty spaces...) any suggestions?
i believe i've solved it by adding a count repeater after the storage sensor, set to 2... i'll keep testing

bro you need 5.666666~ scrap per nanocarbon alloy (if you get all resources from trade platform) or basically, 2 astronium = 1 nanocarbon alloy, get 400 astronium, you just got yourself 200 nanocarbon alloys
How did you get the resin to not double up on the printer? When I tried making the first farm it would almost immediately break because it would fill both slots on the printer
Yeah now we have this bug... You can fix it with the workaround that I'm using in my TNT farm video

I made the first one faster then the second on with 16 medium soil canisters and a large resource canister
I've been having some issues with this setup! If the astronium supply ever runs out, the trade platform will despot the jump-jets into the astronium loading medium, thus breaking the cycle. How do I fix this?
I recommend that you watch the video closely, if you follow all steps you should fix this problem. Or you can post some pictures at mu Discord to get some help, link in the bio 😊

one question? How did you get so much soil? you didn't explain that part. is there faster way than manually absorb soil into the canisters?
Put a drill on a large rover and attach soil canisters to the rover. Then drive through a mountain and all the soil will be collected. If you add a paver it will use the stored soil to make roads
There are two ways. One manually with the terrain tool and as many small canisters as you can get.
The second way (faster but more expensive) is getting a rover with a drill and a soil canisters (or more) and dig

Im pretty sure that is the last wandets way quest I believe you just have to get a probe scanner and put it into a probe and the wander will appear with a camera and it will prompt you this an option to take a photo with him

my fuel thrusters are getting put onto the left side. It puts 5 on the right side but then 3 on the left, even though there is 3 empty slots on the right. And the trade thing is not launching by itself even though I did it the exact same way
Hmm that's weird. I recommend that you use a packager to pack and unpack the trade platform. This will reset it. If the problem persists I recommend that you ask for help to support or at my discord (link in the info tab)
Is there a possibility to get an infinity scrap generator without need for bringing soil or astronium ?

it doesnt seem to auto send the astronium in the cave. is there a way around it or. ive followed the video exactly but it doesnt seem to send when it has to extract the astronium

when the trade platform gets the jets it DOSES NOT UNLOADS THE THEM INTO THE SORAGE WHY?
Instead of a medium storage use a medium silo and change the storage sensor to empty or not empty and it should work

this doesnt work if your using the extrator since it cant keep up with the trade platform so instead you have to use the storage sensor on the first medium storage with the compound and set it to full or notfull so then it will only get set off when there is 4 astro in the trade platform and 4 in the medium storage
I just built the astronaut farm and it produces scrap like crazy. But my auto extractor is too slow and it can’t make 4 astronium before the trade platform gets back. I think it is messing with the storage sensor and it won’t activate the trade platform. Do you know what is wrong with it?
Maybe the auto extractor is not recovering enough power?
You could try to add more power or overclock it
