    Just FYI, you can keep adding CO2 if you wait a minute after hearing that initial blow-off sound. The CO2 takes a bit to properly infuse into the water.

      Yup, and actually, if you wait several seconds longer between each presses, I find that it won't cause the 4th press to blow off as much either.

    Very helpful video. I only wish you had demonstrated carbonating orange juice or cranberry juice, because that is the dealbreaker which seems to makes this model SO much better than all the others. The possibilities are endless: bubbly herbal tea, bubbly lemonade, bubbly wine. I assume we have to fill the bottle to the same level if we used juice or lemonade, correct?

      @firelily361 Před 2 lety +2

      So you don't have to fill it to the line. The less liquid you have in there the stronger the bubbles!

    I prefer this to the soda stream. It does carbonate juice. I add the lemon to the water before I carbonate. It even carbonates vodka.

      yeah, we carbonate our herbal tea and it tastes like sparkling wine.

    How long does water stay carbonated in bottle?

      if sealed well, half a day to a day, if not, they quickly lose carbonation.

    I must be doing something wrong because after 3 or 4 pushes the water looks bubbling but it taste nothing like a real bottle of sparkling water. I am pretty disappointed with this product. :(

    • @1rougwarrior
      @1rougwarrior Před 2 lety +2

      I do not use 'burst's' or 'pushes'. I simply hold down until i hear the air release. Burst's or pushes are only needed if your trying to limit the amount of CO2 to your taste. I like it full fizz.

    The carbonator (tank of compressed Co2) that came with my Drinkmate is much smaller:
    "3.0 oz (80g) Food Grade CO2 make up to 10L drinks"
    [At this point, I don't know what "up to 10L drinks" means]. Only 10 quarts of drink per bottle of compressed air? I think that's lousy, since I got only ONE bottle of compressed air.

    • @TheGizmoGarage
      @TheGizmoGarage  Před 3 lety +2

      3oz co2 cartridge is likely a tester unit, you'll need to purchase regular sized co2 cartridge to be comparable in cost to buying soda from super market.

      Comparable? I thought it was supposed to be a tiny fraction of buying bottled soda.

      @@quabledistocficklepo3597 we calculated again. You do save, only if you get the commercial CO2 cans and run a special line over to your soda maker do you save a lot of money, otherwise, not by much just a fun factor and you have the option to avoid sugar and carbs in your own drink mix

    the only advantage is you can ad co2 into any drinks you like, but in terms of money saving, not so much especially for me drinks sparkling water mainly, the cost of refilling gas is too much......good vid tho

      I have a 20 lb co2 tank with an adapter connected to my drinkmate. It has paid for itself many times over, and I save a ton of money. A liter of carbonated water is literally just a few cents.
