1987 to 2000 was the best era for commercials. Nowadays, good commercials are very far and few in between.
Holy crap I never realized that was Tony âBuster Bluthâ Hale in the Mr. Robot commercial! Itâs funny these commercials seem like I was just watching them in TV.
I legit want some of that Highlander merch
Back when the Sci Fi channel was watchable.
The Mummy being advertised as a serious film made me giggle.
MST3K! Still one of the best shows of all time.
I was 15 years old living in Glendale queens nyc with my mom and my brother and it was my final year at ps 177q
Best time to have lived in the past century.
I was a huge Farscape fan back in the day, and it's a shame how Sci-Fi Channel treated that show leaving it on a cliffhanger for so long only to make the final movie "The Peacekeeper Wars" after much fan backlash, but still great to see a block of commericals from Sci-Fi channel when it was in its prime, and they even had an early Saturday morning block of anime movies that were considered fairly recent releases(at least to the North America market) at the time. đ
I prefer 80s/early 90s, but even the late 90s commercials were good.
i haven't seen many of the commercials since the late '90s but they are like good songs. doesn't matter how long it's been since you heard a favorite tune, could be decades, but you know all the words as soon as it plays. when i watched the car commercial with all the crazy pantomime i knew instantly the song was 'mr. roboto' by styx, & i haven't seen that commercial in well over 20 years! another excellent batch of adverts!
Oh my goodness yes! One of my favorite commercials of that time. Always sang along.
A Book commercial wow you won't see that anymore big plus that some of these came from watching MST3K
I miss the old sci-fi channel. Loved Farscape and sliders.
I donât remember snappy but look how big the pci capture card is. I remember setting up something like that for my computer class.
That's not PCI, that's an external Parallel port connector, but I'm not 100% sure if it's using a Bidirectional Parallel port to help increase the transfer speeds.
@@CommodoreFan64 your correct. Itâs been so long sense I built or upgraded a computer. đ€Ł
Man I could use a "snappy video snap shot" only the most best selling most awarded thing ever!!!
This was great, FANTASTIC! Sci-Fi & Mystery Science 3000!!!! Man, I remember that VW car commercial & the one for Holiday Inn, the free deal for kids! Uh...I forgot about "Johnny" accepting the invite for breakfast...YEEECH!!! Man, the 90's...truly the end of an era. Had I known what the next decade held I would've made a lot of tough decisions. Where is my DeLorean?!
Kids 19 and under stay free in parents' room. đ 6:28
Thats the Odor Eaters that got stuck in my head for life
When I watch these commercials I want to smoke a cigarette and I donât smoke cigarettes. I watched ads like these as a kid in the late 90s, it reminds me that Iâm slowly becoming an artifact of a bygone era. Reminds me of grandmas house in the winter. My aunts house and playing with my cousins while my mom and aunt sat and smoked cigarettes in the kitchen, waking up early and watching tv on the floor.
Great memories!
Wow my brain remembered some of these commercials...
I was laughing at the AT&T 00 commercial. In fine print at the bottom of the ad, each call was 99 cents. Remind me of all those sketchy 1-900 numbers that cost money per minute. The 900 numbers were for everything from chat lines and weather information.
Ahh the 90s, the decade I grew up in...those were some good times :'3
Thanks for all of these great memories, Dave ^ ^
U got it!
@@DavesArchives okay dave.
Never a fan of Miracle Whip but the commercials were always great! Got to order a Snappy. Another great one âïž a blast from the past!Thank you đ Dave!
TFW you know the song he's listening to in the VW commercial before he opens the door....
Dave to the Thursday night rescue; late 90s are my favorites! Unique bridge between the core 90s and the 2000s! Thanks!
Back when times were simpler
I ALWAYS have a backup jar of miracle whip. This must be why.
MIRACLE WHIP WITH SYLVESTER AND TWEETY 11:20
MIRACLE WHIP WITH SYLVESTER AND TWEETY 11:20
I remember when SciFI Channel had the CNet Central block of shows for a time...
Miracle Whip, CompUSA and Circuit City. đ
Before SciFi became SyFy.
I was born in 1990!
Props to Dave for always providing the good 90s vibes man. Helps us all appreciate these better times that much more. Started watching these commercials with the mindset of being in that time before all of the madness. There's a little level of peace before the chaos. Miss those days. Been watching Sliders again. Such a great tv show. Particularly seasons 1-3. And Highlander the tv show is also a favorite. Had to buy the dvds
I keep immersed in 80s/90s to escape the grossness of whatever detestable era we are now stuck in.
It's crazy how I remember some of these like it was yesterday and others I'm not sure I've ever seen.
0:48 Commercial Sign!

Thanks Dave...... you are a hero.
Hey, thanks for taking the tapes, Dave! It's great to see they got one last bit of use. Another fun video!
Thanks so much, Jesse!! Loving the content!!!!
@@DavesArchives Gladly!
@@DavesArchives you too dave.
When we had cd's in the past (Phillips invention) in Europe, the U.S. had cassettes.
I remember these commercials as if I saw them yesterday
The 90s rocked!
I miss when MST3K came on the Comedy Channel (Now Comedy Central) and Sci-Fi Channel.
Thanks for the great 90s commercials!! Keep em coming!!!
The 90s were a wonderful and last time of true innocences then came 99 the Matrix and we all live in that now. :) Miss the 90s man.
There was nothing innocent about the 1990s.
@@bfluker85 Innocence compared to the complete world ending terror we deal with currently.
Wow the Snappy!! I still have it somewhere. It came with some really cool software that I spent countless hours playing around with.
1:37 that ad is the very first time I was introduced to Styx as a 10 year old kid. My Gen X brother was like "Oh yeah, those guys are total cornballs." but he never told me that they were totally ROCKIN' cornballs.
Amazing how Snappy and the 00 phone line's jobs can now be done with your iPhone. And wow, I remember that Miracle Whip commercial with the dog!
I remember a good bit of these
They played one of the 1980âs music in the Gulf VM commercial and I liked it!
Golly, I actually owned a Snappy capture card!
Highlander! Fun video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
@@DavesArchives me too dave.
Awesome video dave
Thx!
@@DavesArchives you're welcome
@@DavesArchives you too dave.
I miss those old AT&T commercials. I had a mid 90's Ford Taurus. Was my first car. It was a tank!!
The lady in the Snappy commercial kinda looks like Scully from The X Files. Even dresses like her!
90s Scifi Channel commercials are the purest nostalgia! Too bad they had to go ruin themselves by becoming SYfY and totally messing up all their good shows :(
That X-FIles Vibe..............
I think the guy in the gain commercial is now the announcer on Letâs Make A Deal
A very young Tony Hale is in the VW ad around the 1:10 mark. Also at the 5:40 mark is that Eric Stonesttreet in the Ruffles ad? Finally at 10:36, a young Johnathan Mangum in the Gain ad,
I was watching mst3k earlier then switched over to youtube and this one came up đ± theyâre everywhere...
2:09 If I was effed up on shrooms, that would be hilarious!
Oh nice!
Epic đ
And Snappy was only $99! Lol!
"You're in High School again!" I know I am
-Kurt Cobain
Burn that Raisin Bran ad. Just burn the whole thing. Good lord, my eyes.
I'd never heard of a "Snappy" before, but it makes me laugh. I think we take for granted how much we can do with our phones now.
I remember we rented a tape of The Mummy from our Winn-Dixie, which I thought was weird even back then, and we never returned it. I really like that movie, not gonna lie.
A car commercial mentioned a coelocanth. Never, ever, ever, thought I'd see that.
Another thing from the 90s I realize I don't miss is the hair. Some of that shit was ugly.
Snappy ... 2:42
Hey, Dave! Subscribed and liked. Can you expound on your video capture method/hardware/software? Thanks!
Itâs a pretty long workflow but I plan on uploading a video on the process. Keep your eyes peeled đ
@@DavesArchives Will do.
@@DavesArchives yes dave.
Whopper extra value meal for $2.99 reminds me of cutting class to go get one. Now you can't even get the sandwich for that much. đ
Just letting you know, Dave, that mayo is far superior. The commercials are wrong
Lol I agree
Especially, Dukes mayonnaise
@@DavesArchives hmmmm.
What the frack is that song at the beginning??? đź
Do you have any commercials from the 2000's
Yup!
@@DavesArchives oh yeah.
man I forgot just how funny some of those old late 90s ads were, haha! that vw ad and the miracle whip one right after...

1:09 Does Mark Zuckerberg have an older, goofy brother?
I need a snappyđ
Did anyone really have a snappy?
I do remember seeing the commercial for it a few times watching MST3K, but I never had it, or knew anyone who did, but I have a friend in highschool who had ati all in wonder AGP capture card in the family computer his dad used to edit family home movies from VHS-C.
