They are so much more lively and entertaining than today's drab ads; can't beat an old school rap for Pepsi, and ppl dressed for a supermarket trip; I sheed a year that was 31 yrs ago. You're the best time traveler, Dave!
Ahhh Young MC.... man I remember those very Pepsi cans in my grandparents fridge like it was yesterday.
Thanks for the short ride on your time machine Dave! You help a lot of people escape this messed up time... for that I thank you brother!
YW, Pirate! :)
Always a good time when Dave shows up on the subscription feed. Especially the videos from the 90s 🙌🏽
Thanks, Urban!
Thank you Dave, the way the adds stayed in 90 did feel like the 80's still. Very nice to see some forgotten friends:)
I still can't believe how someway, somehow, Care-Free Sugarless Gum just disappeared.
i know how ya feel it was around 93 when a lot of brands just started to disappear plus it was that whole nutrasweet thing that was causing more damage than good but at least care free should still stayed around but oh so many gum brands and candy disappeared around that time especially here in washington
NutraSweet was just a brand name for Aspertame, which by the mid 90s started to have it's various patents expire. It wasn't dropped because it was dangerous, that brand was dropped because cheaper generic versions became available. It's still is in a lot of things today.
@@ryokurin but Care-Free is gone
@@gildersleevefan67 Who cares?
@@ryokurin my neighbor actually got boils from nutrasweet he was a vietnam vet who was exposed to agent orange and cause of that nutrasweet caused boils to emerge on his skin i seen it and freaked the crap out of me same thing happened to another friend of mine who lived in port orchard at the time al B. he and hsi son david both went to harrison hospital in rbemerton in 1989 last time i even seen david was when i moved to allyn in 1991and did see news about reactions of nutrasweet and vets who were exposed to agent orange, i know cause a lot of them were my friends, that i miss now days.and i havent seen it since 2000
Ahh yess the 90's where most products had a jingle to go along with it an you could instantly recognize anywhere!
Now every commercial is rapping their products at you.
My first girlfriend who I dated from 5th grade - 10th grade got her first job at TCBY, so I got a lot of free "samples" lol.
Also wanted to let ya know Dave I finally got my stickers after USPS bounced them around getting them stuck in Atlanta for well over a week, but they look awesome on the back of my new tablet. 👍🏻
Awesome news, Commodore! Love that you're sporting them !! :D
Ah those old Movie Channel commercials were Excellent!!!!!! Another fun filled episode Dave! Thanks!
The Pepsi Cool Cans came out in 1990, to a limited release, from Memorial Day to Independence Day. (Source wikipedia)
I remember drinking from those cans tubing the Salt River in Arizona. Just seeing them again, brought back a flood of memories.
There’s no way 1990 was 31 years ago. No way.
Yeah, there were definitely pictures of three year old me with the flat top, hi-top fade. That shit was everywhere.
That dude jumping rope with two women hanging on him was actually impressive.
Wow, that "Oriental" Pearl Cream ad would not fly today. That whole ad was actual cringe, oh my goodness.
Ok I just had the ultimate real experience!! For just a couple seconds no lie I was waiting for the commercials to be over… then 2021 set in again.
AWSOME!! Me and the wife loving this one! 👊🏼
The image of a jar of cream with pearls on top has been burned into my brain. I saw ads for that stuff everywhere in the late 80's/early 90's. As a kid I always thought the full size pearls were actually in the jar and women would somehow massage them into their face.
7:53 "We are such depressing white people, god!" is such a funny line and I can't explain why but it cracks me up so much.
I totally remembered that pepsi commercial! I collected all those cans at one point. Also, I always wanted to try TCBY but there was never any around me. haha
Great, now I really want some frozen yogurt from TCBY….. thanks again, Dave!!!
I'm just amazed that someone decades ago, seen that we'd want to watch commercials from the 80's and 90's 😅
This make me happy after a tough week thanks dave
I have all 4 of those Pepsi cans on display, so rad.
Totally awesome.
Oriental youth secrets?!?
Cool cans!! Yes!! It's crazy how you forget something like that, and as soon as you see it, you're like OH YEAH!! I remember that! Love these commercials!
Those pepsi cans look really cool. And that egg looking toyota van, they must've been rare cuz I haven't seen them on the road much! And mega lolz at that oriental pearl cream 🤣🤣
ha, right?
I see 3 Toyota Previa's on Autotrader & 3 other ones on ebay. Definitely rare minvans.
@@DavesArchives I would not call the Toyota Previa rare, just uncommon compared to how many Chevy Astro, Ford Windstar, and Dodge caravans mini vans were sold in the late 80's and 90's.
The Previa was certainly something else. It was very unique, not only in it's round shape, but also in it's drivetrain layout.
It was rear-wheel-drive based (optional all-wheel-drive), like the Astro and Aerostar, but more rounded and aerodynamic, like the GM U-body triplets (Lumina APV, Trans Sport, Silhouette).
The real thing that set it apart was where the engine was located, which was why the nose was so short. It's mid-engined, utilizing Toyota's 2TZ-FE four-cylinder engine, with 2.4 liters of displacement (1994 saw the option of a supercharger introduced on LE trim, optional on all trims in 1995).
That gave the Previa even front/rear weight distribution, resulting in better handling and ride quality, at the cost if being restrictive on the size of engines that could be put in there (competitors were able to offer V6 engines).
It HAS been proven to be a potent drift car, though.
@@carcrasher88YT I was about to say this
Thank you for the blast to the past
Class of 1990 here!!!
90's was the best decade
That Pepsi rap though!
Thank you for reminding me how old I am.
0:52 and 9:50 I miss having TCBY stores in the Huntsville/Madison area where I live here in Alabama. No more in my area. 2:38 That's quite the CGI animation back then for that Scrubbing Bubbles commercial. 5:43 "...we're the reason why everybody loooves a nut!" Oddly sexual lol 11:04 World's most durable car? Volvo says hold my beer 12:45 Those Brita water pitchers have remained unchanged for all these years That last ad was a bit weird lol
Having a deep, meaningful conversation with a telemarketer (6:34). So 1990s!
I keep thinking the show is about to start
Yo, it was crazy to see Hillary Banks at 3:53, but I dead ass thought she was talking about maxi pads before the reveal.
What the hell was that Mercedes commercial? It looked like psychological horror.
This was *THIRTY YEARS AGO!!!*
It seems like it was just yesterday.
That Oriental Pearl cream ad 😂🤣 15:32
Anyone know the name of the outro tune? I've looked and looked, used Reddit, Shazam and Google Sound to no luck.
1:50 Tahj Mowry on the left
Oh yea, right guard commercial said 1990 in lower screen but I’m sure ppl noticed.
Gotta love those Pepsi cans
Back when life was simple. The 90s last best decade after that humanity downhill
"shed a tear" ops!
I opened a can of Pepsi once...I didn't feel cool, but I did feel an overwhelming sense of regret once I drank it.
Ahhh 1990. The year I graduated from high school..
Who is this McDonald's?
Lol telling us eggs are bad for u while they put crap preservatives in their food. Remember when they said margarine was better than butter?😂😂😂
Was that Karyn Parsons from Fresh Prince in that Toyota commercial??
I remember those Pepsi Cool cans and the Young MC commercial. Anyone remember the controversy about how you could stack 2 cans on top of each other and it would spell out SEX?
I NEED AMAZING ORIENTAL SECRETS
Is that Hilary from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in that van commercial...... and there's a lot of multi-culture in these commercials. that's not a bad thing
TCBY frozen yogurt was so good 🤤
Mc'd dissing sushis XD
I don't remember the Food Folks Fun McDonald's commercial.
14:40 Oriental Pearl Cream.
Wow, another 4:3 time capsule! Brita filters only took out ninety percent of lead? I thought it was much higher. Yikes Dave... Yikes! Cheers!
Bck then who would of thought the future was going to be so boring miss the 90s
Segregated McDonalds ads runnin wild.
The Pepsi sex cans, hilarious!!
I remember winning a little cash in the Pepsi cool cans
i always loved the pepsi cool cans i miss the black neon one the most that was just so awesomevi also miss tcby frozen yogurt places too there was one in port orchard back in 1990, i miss lava soap a lot too back around 83 they had a red lava soap in a green wrapper and the green soap in the red wrapper mom would get some from pay n save in port orchard oh those were the days,
McDonald's tasted so much better in those old Styrofoam containers for some reason
The oral-b commercials scared the ten year old me.
Lol Dave also looks like the "Truth pill" commentor might be spam. Check out the additional comments
lol, wow, they put in so much effort too
@@DavesArchives nice dave, tell the truth.
LOL I was wondering why the comment count went from 30 to 25.
@@DavesArchives Yep they sure did lol. I knew something was up the minute they started talking about bitcoin LOL
2:05 Yum yum yum...👶👹
Ads from 1990 (were these commercials really from 1900?!).
I mean 1990, oops 😬😅🤪🤷🙃😳.
My bad.
Beautiful Hillary Banks in that ugly Toyota mini van commercial!!
Those were the most segregated McDonald’s commercials I’ve ever seen.
Need a Soloflex so I can dstroy my flag football league
oh my God, so many terrible computer animations lol
That's what I call modern movies
