  • This video is a crash information session to help you navigate the difference between Fumed Silica and Colloidal Silica. Both forms are good to use as thickening agents in epoxies and resins etc. They both offer extraordinary strength to whatever mix you are mixing and you can add additional fillers to help create even a stronger bonding mixture. The difference in the 2 silica's is how they are manufactured or how they are developed through being a by product. Microscopically they are different and their differences can be observed when side by side and through mixing, however the end product is the same, providing a strong thickened mixture.
