- Today on The Babylon Bee Podcast, Kyle and Ethan talk to Doug Wilson. Doug is a pastor, author of over 90 books, most recently of Ride, Sally, Ride, and the host of Man Rampant. His church got in the news recently for a non-socially distanced, unmasked 'Psalm Sing' in Moscow, Idaho that landed several members of their church in jail. They talk about what happened at the Psalm Sing, why churches are disengaging with the culture and politics, and why a Christian would write a book about sex robots.

I am so pleased that Doug Wilson is getting more recognition.
Yes
Love Doug, learned a lot from him over the past 2 years. We from fearful and defeated Premil to optimistic Postmil Eschatology.
Doug was my inspiration to accuse my former “church without walls” of being a church without spine.
Doug Wilson is a much needed voice of sanity... those people who complain about him are evidence of his sanity.
I was scared away from him because “ministers” I trusted made him out to be a theocratic dictator advocate. But their masks have come off lately and I’m very pleased that the Lord showed me his content.
True
Great interview with Doug Wilson! Thanks for posting this interview.
I use my own free will to enjoy and respect Doug Wilson!
I do believe that's an appropriate Babylon bee response. If you don't get it, that's okay it's a non-salvational issue.
Doug Wilson is awesome!!
I love his collab with Hitchens
I could instantly tell how old this video was - Ethan, you're making great progress on the weight loss!
I love pastor Doug. Greetings from Ghana
I appreciate you all at the Bee so much, but your position globally was just bumped way up by having one of the men of the hour on your podcast....Doug Wilson is one of my favorite men of God and you are serving the body of Christ in bringing his message to the body, thank you a million times over!
I go to a classical school. Much of the curriculum is influenced by Doug Wilson!
Dug?
@@keithwilson6060 yeah Dug lol 😆
I loved hearing him flesh out his view of the abolition of slavery as compared to how we would abolish abortion.
Doug fears the Lord and therefore fears no man. My interest in him began when so many people protested him too much. He’s bold in preaching, sharp tongued in critique but never hateful. He’s been the same for years but only now controversial? I think only to those who cave to culture.
No one should foment a war to end abortion. That doesn’t mean that God won’t bring a war that will end abortion. The same goes for slavery.
Loved the back and forth on the slavery topic, we can't afford another civil war, but something has to be done about the slaughtering of innocents. Nearly fifty years of sitting on our hands isn't working.
Blessings to you guys!!!🇺🇸🙏💒
Shhhhhh no one tell R Scott Clark the bee interviewed he who must not be named. Thanks for having Doug on
The voice of sanity in insane world.
The fact that Doug Wilson is considered a controversial firebrand is embarrassing. Omg he actually preaches what’s in the Bible, what is he, some kind of Christian?
I was scared away from him because “ministers” I trusted made him out to be a theocratic dictator advocate. But their masks have come off lately and I’m very pleased that the Lord showed me his content.
@Casus Belli I've just found this guy and suddenly i'm not impressed. The fact that he smokes cigars is not Christ-like. Did Jesus smoke cigars? Jesus said ''Follow me. Be ye perfect as I am perfect. Be holy as I am holy ''etc
If Doug came and preached to me with a fat cigar in his fingers I would find it hard to stay and listen to him..........like now. I consider him to be an ignorant Christian. Cigars are one of Satans ''things'' of this world and Doug is saying to others that its ok to smoke!.
Jesus said ''strive'' to get into the Kingdom. That means bend over backwards, break your neck to get in.
Amen and amen
I'm going to assume you don't know about the sexual abuse allegations in his church, his involvement, numerous allegations of plagiarism, federal vision controversy, and more. I can understand taking one side or another. I can't understand not understanding why he's considered controversial.
@@pamelameela does striving get you into the kingdom of heaven? Or faith in Christ? Can we do anything good without the Spirit of God? I would also like the passage of scripture that says not to smoke cigars, is smoking a cigar a sin? I know you think its “unholy” but by what standard? Who’s sets the standard? For me its The Word of The Living and True God, and Doug Wilson would say the same. Eat some meat!
CS Lewis was offensive in his writings, it’s just that most readers aren’t smart enough to be offended.
rewatching in 2024. Man, I miss the chemistry between Ethan and Kyle
I have participated in many an after glow when I was Calvary Chapel. No tongues...just a lot of prostrate laying...and crying...and singing the same thing.
Doug makes sense when everyone else sounds looney
#freethebee
Oh man, I almost want to subscribe so I can hear his answer to the Federal Vision question. 😅
"It's not that I want people to get mad at me." hahahaa
Funny seeing you here. 😆
Doug is hilarious.
After dropping Dispensationalism years ago, I keep forgetting every time it periodically comes up that there are actually Christians out there who still believe in it. Every decade that goes by, you just start thinking of it as some relic of history.
It should be, but it still isn’t.
As soon as C-Span cameras cut away, that entire room
As I listened to this, I saw a Tweet from Elon Musk asking if Tesla should make cat girl robots.
It is legitimate to pray to a politician. It is there in the constitution: _...the right to petition government..._
That book reminds me of an episode of the twighlight zone where a
convicted fellon was put in solitary confinement on his own planet and
someone gave him a humanoid robot to keep company.
Why can't I click the bell and get notifications?
I wonder if Doug Wilson would agree that though the death toll of abortion is higher than slavery, the nature of the suffering during slavery was much more gruesome. The truth of his statement resounds, but it is a vert heavy topic and provokes deep thought and discourse.
Yes. It was gruesome, *despite them not having limbs ripped from their bodies but surgical instruments."
Cheers! :)
"...The Japanese have Jesus Robots..." - Elvis Costello.
What’s all this fluff with DW? He’s fiery for the Lord. Much needed in a world that’s hates Him.
Some really interesting ideas here. I'm really interested in the idea that the violence of the civil war was really harmful to our county's culture. Not having been alive then I can't say for sure but I wonder how we might have gone about freeing slaves without violence? Does the bible have the answers? (in my experience the bible is fairly confusing so if there are parts I might focus on I'm open to suggestions).
afterglow is a parable, so both Kyle and Ethan held valid initial understandings... or, did they us all get it wrong right... afterglow!!!
Please....has anyone read the book of Solomon?
Which one?
@@sam_the_davidson Likely means the song of songs, which is filled with innuendos and outright not innuendos
@@44Juliuz44 it's a beautiful book
@@lukesalazar9283 I agree completely!
Arrested is right. See ya Alex! Hope they throw the book at him.
When Wilson talks about violently ending an immoral regime as being unbiblical, would Wilson say the same thing about Nazi Germany during the ww2? Would he also say Americans should not have violently overthrown a genocidal regime? I'm confused on this point.
You fight an army with an army?
But I have a “bizarre” position on WWII because I don’t think the U.S. had any moral justification for joining it as a nation, conscripting slave soldiers to fight it, stealing billions in tax money to fund it, firebombing cities, using nukes, stealing more billions to fund our Communist dictator ally’s war machine, etc. It was NOT “the good war.”
Are you asking entirely out of not understanding, or are you engaging in snark as well?
After glow? Isn't that what Michael Jackson put in his hair?
Soul Glo ...
You forgot to put up your trigger warning. Gee whizz guys

The difference with the number of blacks who died because of slavery and those who died because of abortion is free will choice. Which as a Calvinist, I don't think Wilson believes. So why is he taking a stand against either evil since God ordained them both...?
One could argue that slaves died because of the choices of their masters. Not that anyone should listen to Doug Wilson without a whole shaker full of salt.
Yeesh, you severely misunderstand Calvinism. It's not fatalism.
@@2411509igwt Its also not biblical, rather it is philosophy imposed upon the scripture. Why go to Calvin, who went to Augustine, when scripture is sufficient?
@@robinq5511 Why go to Arminius when scripture is sufficient?
Robin, you think Calvinists believe we shouldn’t oppose evil? Are you serious?
Please, everyone go read what Rod Dreher has written about this man, and then also educate yourselves on the dark side of the quiverfull / patriarchy movement. Don't read any book by him without the full context.

Yeah but you don't want to take all the Psalms too seriously, unless you're up for being terribly naughty
What’s wrong with the word of God?
