  • Today on The Babylon Bee Podcast, Kyle and Ethan talk to Doug Wilson. Doug is a pastor, author of over 90 books, most recently of Ride, Sally, Ride, and the host of Man Rampant. His church got in the news recently for a non-socially distanced, unmasked 'Psalm Sing' in Moscow, Idaho that landed several members of their church in jail. They talk about what happened at the Psalm Sing, why churches are disengaging with the culture and politics, and why a Christian would write a book about sex robots.

Doug fears the Lord and therefore fears no man. My interest in him began when so many people protested him too much. He’s bold in preaching, sharp tongued in critique but never hateful. He’s been the same for years but only now controversial? I think only to those who cave to culture.

@Casus Belli I've just found this guy and suddenly i'm not impressed. The fact that he smokes cigars is not Christ-like. Did Jesus smoke cigars? Jesus said ''Follow me. Be ye perfect as I am perfect. Be holy as I am holy ''etc
If Doug came and preached to me with a fat cigar in his fingers I would find it hard to stay and listen to him..........like now. I consider him to be an ignorant Christian. Cigars are one of Satans ''things'' of this world and Doug is saying to others that its ok to smoke!.
Jesus said ''strive'' to get into the Kingdom. That means bend over backwards, break your neck to get in.

I would also like the passage of scripture that says not to smoke cigars, is smoking a cigar a sin? I know you think its “unholy” but by what standard? Who’s sets the standard? Some really interesting ideas here. I'm really interested in the idea that the violence of the civil war was really harmful to our county's culture. Not having been alive then I can't say for sure but I wonder how we might have gone about freeing slaves without violence? Does the bible have the answers? (in my experience the bible is fairly confusing so if there are parts I might focus on I'm open to suggestions).
