was a great time to be a QPR fan .. top top memories
Fabulous... Times... Sir Terry Venables 💙🤍.. JG Legend ✅
This is a superb interview. John’s recollection is brilliant. Being of an age when I watched that team regularly it really brought back great memories.
I remember watching every home game in the Venables era. Fantastic times!
A great player eulogising on a complete legend!
Rest in Power 🔵💐⚪️
Great insight by John. I can paint a picture in my mind of training sessions under Tel at the Rs.
Brilliant interview Paul. John is such a good talker
Great interview John brilliant team you played in under the legendary Terry venables RIP. Interesting chat about some amazing times with other rs players being held in great esteem thanks for reliving the memories john glad you learnt under terry and managed us too.no wonder you kept smiling good things were happening urrrrsssss
John Gregory was my favourite player in Venables team, tall, elegant passer of the ball, not the quickest but the cleverest.
T..V great manager and great person. Brought the idea of the plastic pitch to QPR and John Gregory was the best passer and controller on it. Great idea though obviously didn’t work in the long term.
Great interview, JG calling him the pep of his time guy will always be a Rs legend and rightly so.
Great days, when I followed the team home and away.
Great times particularly the 2 - 0 win at Arsenal and the two EUFA games at Highbury but even with Terry as manager instead of Alan Mullery I think a lot of us knew that with their crowd behind them Partizan were probably the only team in Europe that couid have reversed a 4 goal deficit.
I remember that cold December 1982 defeat at Wolves and in the season before that 'The Battle Of Millmoor' at Rotherham (Yorkshire TV cameras were there) where the game seemed to go on forever (a common occurrence these days with winning goals coming at 90 +:7 etc). Sadly Rangers lost that game 1 - 0.
Finally the euphoria when Terry said "I will be staying at QPR for the next ten years" little knowing that Barcelona would soon be making an offer he couldn't refuse.
That was an absolutely brilliant interview!
Excellent interview, great insight to how much ahead of his time Venables' was. Great privilege to have played under him as your manager.
What a great team, manager, and period to be a QPR fan... Terry Venables blue n white army! URsss 🔵⚪
Nice insight 🙂
