Doctors are the tip os the iceberg, they are not those responsible for it, just the tool. RN and all health care are doing the same thing - RN are worse, since we have more women in it, and this issue is caused, most of all, by womens view of the ideal world.
I have been a member of the American Psychiatric Association since 1986. I am a “Fellow” because of my longevity. However it is undeniable that they have lost their way and are failing my patients and all peoples. Because of that, my association with them after 38 years expires today, 3/31/24. I refuse to be part of their cataclysmic failure to guide the science of psychiatry/Neuropsychiatry in a healthy/logical and humble way as has been done in the past. In my opinion, they have abandoned the Hippocratic oath and betrayed the very people we have sworn to care for. In the past out patients included narcissists and psychopaths among the masses. Now the Association is lead by them.

Medical licenses are how we got here. It's the devouring mother. It's illegal to do the right thing because of medical license. Caveat Emptor.
Won't happen. It's a piece of the Leftist/Progressive worldview, and it has taken over the profession, as it has taken over the rest of the medical industry, and pretty much every other institution in our society. Revoking a license won't dig then out.
So here in Washington state back in 2018, they passed a law that prohibits shrinks from doing anything but affirming this delusion in a professional setting. I think blanket jail time is going to be complicated. Though, I do completely agree with the sentiment.

As a mother of 6 the line Jorden said that really hit me was “ the good mother fails”. One of the biggest challenges of a parent and even more of a mother is not following the world in all its ridiculous glory. I never wanted to be my children’s best friend. That can be left until they are grown adults and I’m done raising them! My responsibility is to do the world a favor and produce, highly functioning, moral, balanced humans that contribute to the world to make it better:). It’s a huge responsibility, if you get it right, it’s one of the greatest things you will ever do. At 41 I have my first Grandchild and I can say…….. it’s worth it❤️.

OR, take a stand so public schools move away from this stuff.
Be sure to allow your child to socialize. Fight like hell at the school boards, because it isn't just your children that they are trying to mislead. Try to find a community you love and respect, who will not steer your children towards trans ideology.

"The good mother fails" is so true. One of the most difficult things we mothers (or parents) wrestle with is to know when we need to step in and when we need to let our child fall flat on his/her face in order to learn. You learn best from experiencing consequences, as long as the condequences are not debilitating or deadly.
I have worked with children in public mental health. I have been screaming this for years! They started down this path when they rewrote the DSM.

As a professor, I testified at my state legislature regarding adolescent identity development and cognition. The bill banned under age puberty blockers and underage transgender surgeries. We need to share cognitive development education to everyone as it is not being discussed with this issue.
Testifying was at a high risk of losing my job. Every other professor and physician testified against the bill because it is the popular “nice” thing to do. I was attacked by angry parents and teens after the meeting. The bill eventually passed in our state and now the true “nice” thing is happening: young people are being spared this permanent butchering and parents are being spared from having to make that choice. Parents are being spared from their children growing up and being upset at parents for letting them transition when parents should have known better.

I ask to get a better sense of how/where others can successfully fight this hydra, and to gain hope that the tide really is starting to turn.
It's abhorrent enough what happened to children during 20/21. Then when they can get out and try to go back to school, this stuff gets thrown in their faces? As a parent, I really hate learning the true depravity of these people.

I am so sorry; it is disturbing just to hear of this, let alone, as in your case, actually experience this and not be able to prevent it. One of the darkest things i've ever heard came from a doctor at WPATH, and this is posted online, who said that people are able to change genitalia to match their gender, so they should also be able to change their genitalia to look like a flower, or to look like abstract art, or they should be able to have multiple genitalia. It is definitely the single most depraved thing I have ever heard.

@@margaretsorohan I’m in Sweden. Here abortion is voluntary, no questions asked until week 18+0 days. After that you apply for a permission in front of a committee and (now I can’t remember exactly, but I think it’s week 21) then it’s allowed only if the mother’s life is at stake. And I think that makes sense. I never had an abortion, but I had a missed miscarriage where my baby died at 14 weeks and had to have a D&C so that I wouldn’t die of infection - the procedure is exactly the same as abortion and it’s even referred to as abortion as my pregnancy continued despite the fetus being dead.

I spent three or four months, after the birth of my 2nd sibling, running around with a blanket claiming I was Little Kid Jimmy. I'm female. I grew out of it.
I also spent nearly one year running around as a horse. I ran around on all fours, jumped over the couch, whinnied and neighed. My mother had to tell me stand up and act like a human being in front of the neighbor.
Thank god my mother had common sense and said "it's a phase, she'll grow out of it." Indeed, I did!
And no doctor tried to sew a horsetail to my arse! Thank God!

I was very much a tom boy, galloped around (usually as a bipedal), and pretending to be a horse. Hated wearing dresses - to the point that I snuck a pair of pants to school on picture day and promptly put them on under my dress! It probably looked bloody ridiculous, but in my young mind I was no longer wearing a dress. Lol
Somewhere along the line, I began to enjoy dresses and looking feminine, and I still can wear riding boots and go outdoors in a scruffy Carhartt chore jacket 😊.

I was a pony, developed a pretty fast trot. Then I was a dog, ate hamburger out of a plate on the floor. Somehow I turned into a girl then a woman. Last transition seems to have stuck for the last 60 years.
Thank you Micheal for you courage. My son is has ASD and started addressing this issue when he was 11. He'd been abused by a cousin during adolescence who introduced him to trans porno. Unfortunately his mother and I divorced in 2016 and they moved to a neighboring state while I stayed back to sale the house. While that occurred his mother took him to a psychologist that "affirmed" his gender confusion and recommended him to an Endocronologist that started him on puberty blockers. It was 18 months before I found out BY ACCIDENT that this was occouring. My heart aches so because of what his life will be now that he cannot have children and has developed such a VICTIM mentality of entitlement towards the government. These people SHOULD be put behind bars.

He may yet still have a chance for a reversal and get some of his fertility back.

Hi David. All sympathy. Some readers seem to think intervention is possible; lawyers are costly but maybe there is some possibility? So much depends on going before a judge who understands all sides to the story.
Had gender dysphoria most of my life, it has lessened as I age...but was very disruptive to life, I also switched from being heterosexual to homosexual throughout my life. So glad this madness didn't exist when I was young. Returning to Catholicism 6 years ago calmed a lot of this stuff down. I must remember to have more compassion for these confused people because I know how painful their lives are.

Someone wiser than me recently said do not waste your breath and time trying to convince people who obstinately deny there is a real problem and shirk any responsibility - concentrate your efforts on those who are sitting on the fence, i.e. those who are open to doubt and feel weak and confused - those are where your effort can most likely bring results. We need to form communities with people who share similar values and who are disgusted enough to want to do even a little something to stop the madness.

I'm a psychiatrist, and I have been trying to get the word out, but am finding that there are others in the field who are becoming aware and are shocked and appalled, but all too many psychotherapists (most untrained in scientific inquiry or evidence based medicine), who react with this news, whether about the NHS or WAPATH or Wash U or Tavistock or other sources, with undisguised hostility and defensiveness and derision towards me. Part of me wants to throw up my hands, but the better part of me will not cease in bringning this to the attention of families and clinicians.
It seems we really must re-learn historical lessons over and over again, such as what happens when ppl blindly follow authority and turn their backs on reality and truth-telling. It seems ppl reveal their pack animal/tribe loyalty tendencies readily after being conditioned for years to believe that public matters are intrinsically political, when of course they aren't at all. But the degree of avoidance, of being unwilling to simply listen and think (not to mention care) is pretty damn shocking nonetheless.

This was my first time coming across Michael Shellenberger and I’m impressed. He understands the true nature of what is going on and has the empathy to go with it. Jordan great as usual. Fantastic conversation gentlemen, perfectly articulates what many of us believe.
I am an Irishman living China and I have had brutal discussions with my brother and sister and others back in Ireland who have embraced this woke trans ideology. It’s just unbelievable what otherwise sane lucid people are supporting, or at a minimum accepting.
Anyone who mutilates the body of a child, irrespective of whatever BS reasons they give, should be sentenced accordingly. They should be treated as if they hacked off the child’s limbs.

My father was abused with ECT (electroshock)as a 70-aomething -- it worked "great" for his depression the first few times, and then after a few more times, his physical mobility, basic ability to walk, was impaired. When he tried to walk, he was doing backwards walking motions trying to walk forward. Stay AWAY from ECT!

Your work and presence in these fringes are invaluable, acting as a beacon of light in areas often overshadowed by darkness. It’s a critical role, and your contributions are deeply appreciated by many who find themselves navigating these edges alongside you.
However, I couldn’t help but reflect on the idea that while one’s work and influence might anchor them in the fringes, it doesn’t necessarily dictate where their heart or soul must reside. If in your journey, you find a resonating truth within the Catholic faith, I encourage you to explore it. The physical and intellectual work can continue in the fringes, but allowing your heart and soul to dwell within the “Ark of the Covenant” could offer a profound balance and fulfillment.
The relationship one has with God transcends any earthly work, no matter how noble or impactful. As the parable goes, God would leave the ninety-nine to find the one that is astray. This isn’t to say that you are astray, but rather to suggest that there’s a personal journey of faith that is just as important as the intellectual and societal battles you fight so passionately.

I’m really surprised England stopped. They’re just as crazy as the US.
We've slowed it down slightly, but we haven't stopped it. Labour are going to get in at the next election and they have committed to legislation that would criminalise doctors NOT providing gender affirming care. It's under the umbrella of banning conversion therapy. Triggernometry did a video about it recently. And they're still running trials for puberty blockers, the ban isn't permanent. It's worse in Scotland where their legislation is forging the way for kids to be removed from parents if the parents don't affirm their identity, same as California. This is dystopian in the truest, most present sense - we're living the nightmare.
Wales is about to vote in self-ID which will allow any man who fancies it to declare himself a woman and be legally treated as one immediately. The UK isn't much better.
Meanwhile in Australia they are passing laws giving a ten year jail sentence to parents, psychologists and doctors who fail to affirm and transition. 😢
I am still amazed at how many people are complicit and behind this stuff. It’s not only very dark, but it’s immense child abuse. Between this and our educational system our children do not stand a chance. It’s quite baffling. I am a classicist (one who studies the past) I read a lot. When I look around I cannot help but feel that we have gone too far. I don’t see how we can turn this around. If this many people can be persuaded…over such irrationality, I don’t know how to proceed. These kids are not fully developed yet. One healthy has an imagination. We, as adults, are supposed to guide and protect them. Within reason. Not subject them to this abuse and surgeries. Pushing them into actions that they cannot take back. In some cases, ruining their chances of having children. What kind of person would want to do this to a child?

The same people doing this in the schools to kids today were the same people pushing Adderall on my generation in the early 90s. The parents who are pushing this on their 4 year olds were the same people who would have done other strange things to their children in years past. Luckily my parents learned quick what Adderall was after my father took one one day and immediately realized it was speed, haha. I was off it that day. At least with Adderall it’s not necessarily permanent damage.

This is the best, most interesting discussion I have heard in I don't know how long. As a matter of fact, the second best I heard recently was also with Jordan in the interview as well. It's just amazing amazing minds here talking. My 20yr old strongly autistic nephew here in New Zealand was preyed upon by online predators who talked him into him thinking he is transgender. This was during covid. Its tearing his family apart. He hasn't transitioned and his family are fighting to stop him making any lifelong decisions but it's not easy. He is like a young teenager and doesn't understand how he has been manipulated.
It's frightening to have to try and fight against those manipulators and cult leaders who prey on the vulnerable.

If the cause for legal action is medical "malpractice" don't hold your breath. Med mal statute of limitations are relatively short in most states. 3 years in California. But the doctors have an out because at present they can say they were following the standards of care. The WPATH SOC-8 (and version 7) are fraudulent. That should be the legal focus.

I wrote my MPP (Chris Glover NDP) about the WPATH leak. The reply from a staffer was very vague and contained objectively false reasoning to support their arguments. After I asked him to clarify his stance, he refused to speak further after he presumed my questions were in “bad faith” and refused to connect me with his superior. I’m looking into whether this is something to take to the integrity commissioner.
Call again from a friends cell phone and lie about why you want to talk to him, then ask the real questions after working your way around that clown secretary.

I see a big problem in Teens "educating" each other on how to get hormones, where to order illegally online (once it'll be not as easy to get a description anymore) etc.. It's so important to spotlight this huge scandal, everyone needs to know about it.
We cannot let our teens have free rein online or with friends. I think there is a way for parents to supervise without being domineering. We don’t have to control every step they take, but we do have to be PRESENT with them. Don’t panic, but be sober-minded and steadfast. Love them with a tender heart, let them talk your ear off, and make sure the other adults who influence them have good intentions. Bad things can still befall them, of course, we can’t live in a bubble. But we you must not lose hope! Be encouraged and take heart!

On a macro level, I like the observations that b Maher makes sometimes, did recently, about how the last few decades the parents let the kids start running everything in the household, they are the boss now. Why are parents letting their kids walk all over them and get whatever they want. I was the last of 6 born in '74, strict father. Then I saw my sister born in '67 have kids in '89 & '91, and everything was about the kids getting everything they wanted and bossing mom around, it was ridiculous

Wow, that was so intense. A great conversation, and moved me to tears at one point, when reflecting on the risks of bringing children into the world, and the real sacrifice that is. (I have four children, aged 17 to 28, and I've seen the world chew them up and spit them out).

My traumatized grandchild is a victim of this. There was no real questioning, therapy or counselling just agreement by the medical profession. The government did not contest the provision of a new birth certificate either. We are in Australia 😢

Helen Joyce said something along the lines of: its not going to stop, because that would require the parents of trans children to admit they were wrong AND permitted and celebrated crimes-against-humanity levels of abuse on their own kids.
I think it will them around, but not before enough of those who have transitioned are faced with life-threatening side effects and / or chronic pain and/or coming to the realization that they can't have a normal sex life, which includes the potential for reproduction. In the meantime, we're stuck with a bunch of psychopaths and sociopaths.
Or maybe they will just have to live with the consequences, no doubt the mothers of the thalidomide babies had to live with the guilt of listening to a doctor who prescribed them a morning sickness tablets, even though it was not their fault. If these parents thought they were doing the right thing to save their child from suicide and listened to the doctors maybe they can come to see that it was wrong.
Maybe the parents won’t ever have the courage to admit they were wrong but it’s up to society to speak up and fight to save future children
