    Be sure to turn your ignition on without starting the motor for at least 30 seconds to reset the adblue level sensors in your TDI. Using VCDS will also accomplish this, but if you forgo the use of VCDS, remember this reset step. See and read your owners manual for more details.

    Spill proof bottles for liquids like DEF are an ingenious idea. It seems like there’s a lot of effort when to use these types of bottles, but if it lessens the chances of over spill, I believe that it’s worth it.

    Oddly my 2011 Touareg TDI shows exactly the same value at 80.40%-80.42% that you show before and after the addition of 9.5L. Mine still says 80.42%. lol. My guess is there is something wrong with the vagcom.

    I understand that the adblue fluid lasts you a very long time. So what if you live somewhere where it is very cold like up north, would it not freeze up?? What is its freezing point? I always get the adblue fluid put in by the dealer when i do my full service but im planning on maybe trying some Diesel Exhaust Fluid(DEF) from my brothers semi truck. He gets it cheaper and it also complies with ISO 22241 would that stuff work?
    THX in advance

      There is a DEF heater that generally works to keep the stuff from freezing.

  • @vissi-nyc-resalesh5259

    I got the Audi Q5 Diesel, I have been kind of happy with the car until this stupid add blue light came on, I added 21/2 gallons of add blue and light still wind go away , and message on dash says if I don’t fill up within 350 miles car will not start, because of this stupid add blue I have to take it to Audi dealer for service which that means $300-400 or more I think im done with diesel

      You have to use ISO 22241 def. You probably used low quality def. I would only get my def from the dealer.

      Sometimes the sensor doesn't read the AdBlue you installed correctly. No idea why, but it is a PITA.

    This would be the main reason why I will not buy a diesel car: the AdBlue scam of refilling it every 10-12,000 miles. I'd rather buy a gasoline engine and be done with it.

    find the switch that wont let it run , and bypass it.....

    • @YewtBoot
      @YewtBoot Před 4 lety

      It's not a switch. Much more complicated. For a few buck$, just do it and be done.

      Nicole H That’s the crap that comes with diesel fuel, as they are extremely toxic and wreak havoc in your lungs, so either gasoline or this crap. Btw, in the trunk and under the spare tire is the most convenient place they could find. German engineers huh?

  • @GriffXJ
    @GriffXJ Před 10 lety

    That is the weirdest spare tire I have ever seen...

      @dieselscience Před 10 lety

      GM used those in the late 70s and early 80s. It's stored uninflated and you have either a can or pump.
