    Sushi,
I have been a fan of yours for quite some time. I love your completely authentic reactions and the way you not only listen but seem to melt into every song. I learned something for a fact today that I had believed for quite some time. Today you completely confirmed it. You care very much about your fans. If it's important to us, it becomes important to you. Even more than that, the undeniable respect and admiration you have for the pioneers of music is both amazing and essential to anyone that is a true lover of music. It's one think to appreciate a good beat or melody. But you get to know the artist through the songs that become their legacy. Thank you for your respect, sincerity, authenticity. You're genuinely an amazing individual.

This song came out while I was living in Africa for a few years. It was amazing how all of the locals learned and sang the song, even though most of them didn't know a word of English. The song just really resonated with them that much, even though it was Africa instead of the U.S. They understood perfectly the idea of breaking up with four hungry children and a crop that needed harvesting.

This song makes me cry every time i hear it. My dog was named Lucy. And a party trick was to quiet everyone down and I would sing this to her. She would rock back and forth just staring at me until she drifted to sleep. It never failed. When She died she was unresponsive to everything as she lay there. But then I got down and sang this to the best friend I ever had as she slipped away. I don't have enough tissues for this.

Sushi - You do some of the best review reactions. Another artist who died too soon was Joey Feek. Just do a youtube search for Joey and Rory. She gave birth to her only child and then found out she had cancer a few months later just as her and her husbands singing career was really taking off. She died less than a year later. Joey and Rory put out some of the best music (some with some good sas in it also). Back to Kenny, my wife Vicky and I went to an outdoor concert featuring Kenny Rogers about 20 years ago. It was one of the most amazing experiences ever. Every song he performed was actual song back to him by the fans in the crowd. Seeing 7000 people singing an artist song back to him was amazing. We used to call this song Chupeeka. My dad had a landscaping business. Me and my brothers used to work for him. There was a Mexican that knew this song and he would call it the Chupeeka song. When he sung it he would say "Chupeeka fine Time to Leave Me Lucille" so it was a running joke for a long time.

You should do "Lady" or "Coward of the County." Lionel Richie wrote "Lady" for Kenny.

I was a pre-teen when this song came out, and of course this was pre-internet days, so there was no looking up lyrics. My friends, young cousins and I all thought the chorus was "You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille. 400 children and a crop in the fields." We thought he maybe ran an orphanage...

I agree. This is really where it started for Kenny Rogers. "Ruby, don't take your love to town" is also great. Let's admit it, the hits are all about some poor SOB who's wife/girl is leaving or cheating.

My mom adored this man as a singer. I am coming up on her being gone five years. Please react to The Gambler by Kenny Rogers as this was her favorite song.

Coward of the County; Ruby, don't take your love to town. He did duets with Dottie West, Sheena Easton and Dolly Parton. He sang and starred in movies like The Gambler and The Six Pack. I actually love the title song from that movie.
