To be fair, nobody is really eager to learn in school as much as you are when you volunteerily watch a video on CZcams.
I'm in 7th grade, and this video taught me what took me a whole month to learn in school, when this video took like 15 minutes
Thanks for the video!
Ser - to be (permanent)
0:55 Soy = I am
1:10 Eres = you are
1:20 es = he/she is. you are
1:50 Somos = we are
2:05 Sois - You (plural) are
2:20 Son - they (singular) are
3:33 POPIN - USE SER in these areas:
3:40 Permanent condition - the building is tall
4:28 Occupation - He is a lawyer.
5:08 Place of origin - use a form of ser ex: I am an American.
5:45 Identification - who somebody is
6:28 Nationality
-------------------------------
8:05 Estar = to be
8:40 Estoy = I am
8:50 Estas = you are
9:00 Esta -= he/she is , you are
9:25 Estamos = we are
9:30 Estais = You (plural) are
9:45 Estan = they are
10:15 accent marks(none on top two: estoy & estamos)
11:50 Use ESTAR for Temporary feelings (emotions bc feelings are temporary) & locations
12:25 Location
13:30 how you feel & where you are is when you use ESTAR
You sir, deserve it all
Amazing
Perfecto
Thank you 🙏
Thank you very much
sir your lecture on Spanish is more easy-to-understand type than any lecture I ever heard. For couple of weeks I was looking for efficient lecture on Spanish language. I think your lecture is good enough for those who are enthusiastic on Spanish, especially non-native speaker like me. Please keep on making these kind of videos.
Najmus Sakib he should have his own channel
Najmus Sakib His Spanish course is very useful😆👍🏻
Facts!
wonderful teaching..thank you
Great explanation for my 6th grader. He said you are a much better teacher than his Spanish teacher. Gracias!
Thrift Diving I absolutely agree with you /your son. I can't believe this channel is free.
The verb SER is also used when you talk about event locations. For example: where is the party? - ¿Dónde es la fiesta? or Where is the concert? - ¿Dónde es el concierto? . But this is only if you are asking about the location of the event. If for example you get the house of a friend especting to be a party and you find nothing and ask "Where is the party?" in this case you are not asking about the location of an event, you are asking like "What the heck happened here?", so in this case you would say in spanish "¿Dónde está la fiesta?"
Totally agree
Wait I said that
Who copped me
Spanish: *exists*
Ser and estar: "Let's make this harder"
Is it strange to see this if I speak perfect Spanish?

Dr. Evan, your method of teaching this language will go a long way in the CZcams . It should be great if you teach other language like French, German. Thank you, Gracias.
As a non-native speaker of both English and Spanish I find this useful to improve my English listening skill and learn Spanish from the beginning in the same time. Muchas gracias!

Where have you been all my long life and through all of my failed attempts at learning Spanish? Thank you for your comprehensive yet easy explanations of this subject.

hi are you looking for a partner to practice spanish? text me whatsapp +573222745869 I'm from Colombia I'm learning english
that's the lamest reason I've ever heard to learn our sordid language, read the Quijote or at least some poems by Bécquer, or Alfonsina Storni, not Despacito, never Despacito. If you're into Spanish music, maybe some Mecano, Miguel Bosé, or LatinAmerican bands such as Soda Stereo, Virus, Tan Biónica is brillant (Argentina), but you have some fantastic Mexican singers like Luis Miguel, el chaparrito Cristian Castro, Juanes, to name a few... Alejandro Sanz. Even Enrique Iglesias, Despacito sucks balls!
@@leotrapi417 everyone have different fuel to motivate them, just leave him be. if starting from despacito can lead him to be a fluent spanish speaker, why not?

After not studying Spanish for over 35 years, I am currently in a Spanish 101-102 Intensive at Hunter College. Your videos are an excellent supplement to the software the class is using. When I don't understand something, your videos and teaching technique help make it clear. Thank you!
I wish all my teachers at school had been this good.
My teachers teach me french and they aren't bad it's just the British curriculum is shit . We learn useless stuff like my brother is wearing socks . The only useful things we learned is how to introduce yourself, count to 20 (I can count to 100) and ask for a few items. It's just useless and I have been forced to learn French for 4 years and I can barely form a basic sentence even tho I had extra french for 2 years!

wow i'm trying to learn Espanol again at 33 years old and this video alone is light years ahead anything i learned in high school and college.
I'm 32, never took a Spanish class in my life, and after only 2 videos fell like I could at least hold a conversation with a little kid lol He's fantastic!
This teacher is amazing! Learnt more in a few lessons with him compared to months on Duo Lingo. Thankyou for these vids!
Amen!
Same here, this has helped me understand Duo lingo!!
Improtant to keep in mind that duo is mainly a memorization and sentence forming aid..
You can never get perfection from just one source (except exposure probably)
Best Spanish teacher ever.
Because of the quarantine we have to stay home and this is one of the best idea i have, is to learn Spanish. Good thing i have found a great professor. Gracias! ☺️
How is the Spanish coming along ?
Glad I found this video, i have understood more than I did for two years in class. I think some teachers think students should know the class before they decide to learn how to speak Spanish. Glad I found this class.
i just watched 3 of his video..and i cant believe how much i've learned..the way he teaches is very easy to understand..
I been trying to learn the language since October I found this man in February and learned so much in 3 weeks I'm amazed and super grateful
I am a complete beginner in Spanish. Your teaching method is brilliant. Please do put more lessons. Great.Soy un estudiante feliz
I always find it a bit difficult to memorize the rules and when to use either one but thanks to your explanation now it's easy. The same thing goes for the accent mark. Thank you!
Trust me, the accent mark it’s never used in the everyday spanish, because we memorize the word that have it, but isn’t so important to write them, the spanish people will understand what you want to say.
I always thought I wasn’t very good at learning languages. Perhaps I just needed an instructor who teaches how I learn. This is helping me build the confidence to continue with my Spanish studies. Gracias ♥️🇨🇦
I found it very difficult to understand before in my private class but with this teacher for just minutes he taught me well.
you are such a great teacher. i was completely confused before watching your video. you explained everything in the simplest form that anyone can understand. thank you so much
Much better than the teachers had in high school and by far the best learning videos I've found so far.
Thank you so very much. I wish i had seen you sooner. This will helps me a lot in daily basis life in Florida
This series is so great. The teacher explains everything with such clarity. Thank you!

I'm so glad I came across this page and all of the lessons available..the teacher explains it so well and I love the charts! Thank you!
I really like this teacher attitude. He actually influences me to go on and practice :)))
I love these lessons. He makes it so easy to understand. I'm actually looking forward to the next one because he is connecting the dots as we go along. The charts are a lifesaver!
This has been the best video I've found. Thank you so much!
Easy to catch the point. Very helpful to understand the Spanish grammar in short time. Thanks a lot.
I am really liking the charts and the simplified explanations. Looking forward to continuing with the other tutorials.
Very well explained! An additional comment: In Spanish you often use "estar" to describe someone´s identifying feature just to be polite and not to hurt their feelings. For example, you can say that " un hombre está gordito". You can say "es"; it is grammatically correct, but it sounds impolite. We also use "estar" to describe babies and children´s appearance, probably because they change very quickly: "mira el bebé qué grande está", o "la niña está muy alta para su edad". In theses cases, both "ser" and "estar" are as good .
Studying the language grammar is really the best way for good understanding and writing. Thank you so much!
Muchas Gracias. This is the best video I came across on the usage of ser and estar. You made it so much easier. Please keep on posting more videos.
Dr Danny Evans I'm finding your teaching really clear and you explain everything so well. Thank you. I am not finding the episodes in order at the moment but I'm sure I will sort this out. I am in England but have traveled in Spain quite recently. I am so eager to be able to have a conversation. Dr Evans your teaching is encouraging because you explain why and how forms are used without assuming the Student already knows it and that is so useful when you are learning.
The best teacher I ever experienced learning different languages. It’s very clear and understanding grammar . Thank you sir.
You are genius this is the easiest I have ever learned anything. Thank you
