I've watched you for quite a while now and I feel the need to tell you that I truly appreciate all the work you put into making these videos. Unfortunately I'm on SSDI and won't be able to afford a solar generator for quite some time but, by the time I can, I should have a very good understanding of what I'm purchasing thanks to you. Please don't stop doing what you do because I'm sure that many, many people appreciate all that you do.

I have 2 of these Pecron E3000s that I use for emergency back up power and unless you are using very high power (over 1000 watts) you don't even hear the fans. Mine also came with the trolleys and they are excellent for moving around. When I need power in my shed I just wheel it out there, No problem.

You provide a tremendous amount of detail in your videos when you perform your product test reviews. The reviews are very thorough and comprehensive. You have a knack for addressing your viewers' concerns by providing not only answers to the most common questions, but also by anticipating questions and providing answers to those as well. The icing on the cake is that your reviews are also very entertaining as well. I love how you interject humor into your reviews. You use your humor like a laxative. Glad u say that because I am sick of low self esteem people saying " I can build the same thing for cheaper than what they are charging". So annoying. Yes, anybody can do something themselves for cheaper. If they are so smart they should try to sell one.
Actually, most of the time you can't build the same for cheaper. DIYers don't factor in the total cost including things like shipping cells from China, or they use a cheap substandard inverter. They almost never factor in the BMS, cabling, case, display, AC chargers, USB and most look like something Frankenstein made. There is economy in scale that the Chinese excel at.
Yeah the advantage isn’t in the price, it’s having a non-proprietary system where any part that breaks can be replaced individually. As opposed to having to mail back an entire unit. But also after the warranty is up, I imagine you still can’t fix it yourself because if you pull it apart it’s all proprietary parts that can’t be bought anywhere. Probably only electronics gurus could fix them without help from the company.
Speaking for myself only, I appreciate that it only has a 2000 watt inverter. This way a lot of the stored power does not go to running the inverter and gives you a higher efficiency rating, and allows you to use it longer before charging takes place. The deal breaker for me though is that it is not UPS. I use an old dinosaur as ups for a portable fridge and freezer in the garage the Inergy Apex and the delta max for the residential fridge for UPS when we travel as we have frequent power outages. As always professor HOBO great job.
@Dale Devito I am not 100% sure, but since no one else answered I will try. It has something to do with how fast the battery switches over and takes over. It makes sure you have uninterrupted power. Without it your power can be interrupted and not good if you are using a computer or some other tech that should not have interrupted power. This is what a website says about it... A UPS system, or uninterruptible power supply system, is an electrical aid that assists in power fails. A UPS system runs for only a short time, but it is sufficient enough to either turn on and protect the equipment or start a standby power source. Hope this helps....good luck.

@@LarryDickman1 Very yikes. I don't trust the inverter in UPS mode anymore. Both units died (fried, you could smell it) when the power briefly blipped while then were in UPS mode.
Well if you're using the Delta Pro to try to fix or power up your broken spaceship to fly back to planet Melmac, you're going to fry that Delta Pro easy. I'm thinking if you put 100 of them in parallel, that might get you off the planet. And I better warn Professor Hobo to keep his eyes on his "cats!" I know how good them cats tastes to ya. Honestly this is a great deal for what I am going to use it for. I don’t use wireless charging, it’s easy too hook to roof solar, relatively light for it’s power and size, and even the USB ports don’t bother me (glad you found out they failed there, but still a steal for the price). I don’t mind the power bricks actually for how I use my power station. I’d rather have the 600w charging power 😅.

When I was setting up a subwoofer for my truck, I remember I had found an online voltage loss calculator and it asked questions about if it was aluminum clad or pure copper, distance, voltage, awg, etc. Now this was some years back so I'm not going to remember exact, but I remember that my voltage was more than a 1v loss by the time the power got from the battery to my amp and I remember feeling frustrated by that, and I shortened the cable as much as I felt I could without removing the possibility of being able to cut the tips off and redo them on the chance of any moisture corrosion or anything like that. I probably lobbed off a good foot and a half or two feet of cable and I think I gained a good 4 tenths of a volt back, though I can't be certain of that from memory, but these concepts have stayed with me through these years. You're probably way more experienced and know what you're doing comparing and contrasting as many devices as I see you've reviewed, but I haven't watch them all being relatively new to the channel, but could that have some impact on why the solar battery generator is saying a higher output wattage on your usb ports than what your device on the other side is saying it's getting?

Damn, that's a REALLY nice unit, and the price is not bad at all, for what you get. The only thing I don't like is the Li-NMC battery, but it could not be that small or weigh that little if it had a LiFePO4 battery in it. I really like the detachable trolley kit. Bummer that the PD port isn't really 100w. "Is that a Pecron in your camper van or are you just happy to see me?"
I've been comparing this to the BLUETTI AC200P with a LiFePO4 battery, which would be my other favorite in the same power and price neighborhood. It might be worth considering that with the greater overall power capacity, the Pecron is not such a bad choice. Something that isn't being talked about... You have to charge the Bluetti more often to achieve the same volume of power output. Using the Pecron data of 3108wh (2000wh for the Bluetti). 1500 cycles at 3108wh per charge, the Pecron will have produced 4,662,00wh. The Bluetti would have to be cycled 1/3 more times, or 2,331 cycles to achieve the same power output. At that point the Bluetti would be 1,169 cycles away from it's own rated efficiency reduction to 80%. Still better than the Pecron but not by such a wide margin.
I have to be worried about weight in a motor home. But I need the power punch when I need it. Need solar into it fast. Would Need new input wires adapting to my solar.

Got mine during "indie" campaign for about $0.50/wh and they included cart no charge. First unit bricked after charging. Customer service was thorough and prompt trying to remedy. Ultimately had to return and received replacement within 3 weeks. So far 2nd unit working great. Only thing curious is the charger (or BMS?) doesn't "step down" wattage for last few % of battery like all my other "SoGens". It's 575 til the very end and doesn't shutoff, I have to pull plug. Fingers crossed.

I want to purchase something for an entire house back up system but I honestly feel overwhelmed by all the info and choices and am pretty lame on all of this in spite of watching tons of you videos. It only missing UPS to be perfect. They just released the E1500 Pro which has UPS, but it's missing LIfePO4 batteries. I really like how sturdy they are. Once they include both features in either model it will hit the nail.
I purchased the E3000 Pecron based on your video for emergency. In the future I’ll need to replace my 3000 watt solar system with 12, 400 watt Full River AGM batteries. They are 10 years old but still charging ok. I need to figure out if I can used my setup with lithium batteries.
I use one of those portable house Air conditioners in my van (on shore power). 8000BTU It's rated at 1800 watts/15A . According to my calculations, it should run on the Oukitel P2001, although not for long. Would be neat to have that option from time to time.... thinking about running with it until i figure out what the long game is for Air conditioning.
If you think that power station is loud, just go ahead and test the ECOflow Delta Max at full discharge! Makes about 63db! LOL Great video :) :) ...watch for quicksand....and hernia! LOL
That's quite a handle the AC charging adapter has on it, never seen that before. Wonder if it occurred to the Pecron people that those things might be a little large.
Why? That's FOUR years of a full charge-discharge cycle daily. Then you still have 80% life. You really going to use it so much that it will be dead in 5 years?
hmmm... I was thinking this would be GREAT for a van where you were running the usual electronics and perhaps an induction burner. Honestly, vans are limited on room and this just fits the bill... but the little Fibonacci regarding the USB power outputs makes it a no-go. How can I even trust their two-year warranty if they're going to Fib on that?

I take it that it does not come close to the 4,000 watt surge since it stopped at 2,100 during the heat gun test. Also, I enjoy your videos they are very informative. Keep up the good work. I hope you get a chance to review the E2000 and E1500 from Pecron. Especially since the E2000 will have the add on power banks like Bluetti has implemented.

I have had this unit awhile based on this videos results and am now testing solar panels with the generator discharged to 70%. I paid up for two BougeRV 200w CIGS flex panels and wasn't happy with the output. I did not have a benchmark so I bought two Renogy Black Mono 100w flex panels to compare. My findings were just as disappointing. The BougeRv "latest technology" were marginally 1% better. With the two BougeRv Yuma BIGS 200w in series I test 58.1v at 7.21a which result in 418w watts. When I connect them to the Pecron via the supplied aviation 5 pin, I see an input of around 180watts or a loss of 238w (56.94%). Per your video charging test, the display shows a close wattage input (only about 4% loss) per your testing devices when calculating its volts x amps. When I plug the supplied AC charger (42v x 15a = 630w) in the 110v wall outlet, the display reads 550w or 80w (12.7%) loss. I have tested both charging ports with the same results. Am I missing something here?
This is the response from Pecron support: Greetings! I forwarded your question to our engineer for consultation, his response is: It is very likely that the influence of the sunlight factor, because your solar panel is flexible may not support, irradiation angle also very affect the charging power. (You can also try parallel connection, charging efficiency will be higher if parallel connection, or two solar panels are inserted into different ports for charging at the same time) About our AC charger, it is the upper limit of 600W, in about 550W is normal, generally 540W to 570W fluctuations. For free to contact us. Sincerely, Chris I guess they are saying efficiency is higher with higher amperage. However with TWO flex panels I cannot run them in parallel due to the minimum voltage require by the charge controllers as seen in this video. Does anyone else have results of charging this battery with solar panels?
I just had to RMA my AC200P because the 8mm barrel plug got too hot and caused the female end to sink into the frame, so the charger no longer connects properly.
I know that if anyone can...you can either find... or develop a good way to cool a laptop in a car. I am looking for some kind of cooling where I can leave my laptop or other sensitive electronics in the car for long periods in the summer enclosed. I thought about a refrigerator...so not to rule that out but it needs to not get too cold....but something that can be efficient off of solar or DC. If it has a heating function...even better for deep cold.

Even if opening a window would help the heat in high heat areas of the country...(which it doesn't, and why would I leave an open window with a laptop in it 🙄) the question is about cooling electronics in scorching summer weather. I do leave my car and want to make sure the laptop doesnt get damaged. Those platforms with small fans do not take care of the heat problem inside high heat cars during summer. I could get away with some sort of cooling fans for the car windows, but I have only seen one manufacturer and they are not responding from China. Maybe this is more of a leeway into a show idea where you address cooling an rv and car using solar and or portable generator. I have been trying to find practical ways to cool my SUV which is a coverted camper when not running and parked. It gets super hot in the summer. Thanks.
@@resonancewaves9659 Well, I lived in a vehicle for nearly 4 years and I had all my electronics inside + my cat. What I did was put Reflectix in the windows and leave the roof fan on to keep it near ambient inside.
@@HOBOTECH yea I have double sided reflextic window coverings. No sunroof. Live in So Cal. Anything over 77 outside is scorching inside. Even with all the windows down, the electronics overheat with minimal use in anything above 80 degrees outside. Cars get hot and if someone figures this out for car and stealth rv dwelling...that makes a decent product that can work off solar...they will be millionaires. And nothing where you need ice. Not only does it make interiors wet in non humid places, but it is harder to get. There is one product out there..but the reviews are inflated and the price is really high. Doubt it could last on a generator charge. In any regard I know a lot of your viewers are interested in this and what generator makes can hold up to various cooling systems as we enter summer. Thanks
For the USB C outlet, it could be that it only outputs a certain voltage and amps an your laptop is looking for a different combination. Not all USB C outlets can output all the different combinations. I can live with the 1500 cycles but those big honkin' chargers are a deal breaker.
Nope. My laptop charges from every 100w PD port at 100w except this one. Their port is outputting 20v but at 3A instead of 5A which means it's actually a 60w output.
Ok, now I'm really torn between this and the E2000. The 3100Wh capacity is pretty compelling, even if it is lithium-ion, but the E2000 costs about $600 less, has LiFePo batteries, and is expandable... But who knows when their expansion battery will be available, or how much it will cost? I need a new power station yesterday, and I have a feeling the addition of the expansion battery will add another $1,000-$1,200 to the total price.
I suspect a higher voltage demand than a 19-21v laptop may allow a 4A delivery from a PD port that is advertised for 100W. Many will delivery 4A @15v for example yet will deliver 4A @25v. These are approximate demand requirements and figures, your demand and results will vary.
This laptop charges from EVERY 100w PD port I've ever tried except this one. Power Delivery is a standard. If it's PD 100 it should output 20v@5A period.
You've used that laptop before with 100W being delivered, good to see. Perhaps protocols are missing in some PD's. Seems glitchy if not overadvertised.

Given that you have the Pecron S1500F and now the E3000.... if you were going to spend the $$$ yourself, would you buy two of the 1500's or one of the 3000's? Given that the 1500's have a 2000 charge cycle life vs the 1000 charge cycle life on the 3000... Obviously that may heavily depend on what you would be using them for. Myself, I'd use them to run my refrigerator/chest freezer during power outages. Curious as to your thoughts on this, given that the cost would be very similar for the 2 vs 1. When I was setting up a subwoofer for my truck, I remember I had found an online voltage loss calculator and it asked questions about if it was aluminum clad or pure copper, distance, voltage, awg, etc. Now this was some years back so I'm not going to remember exact, but I remember that my voltage was more than a 1v loss by the time the power got from the battery to my amp and I remember feeling frustrated by that, and I shortened the cable as much as I felt I could without removing the possibility of being able to cut the tips off and redo them on the chance of any moisture corrosion or anything like that. I probably lobbed off a good foot and a half or two feet of cable and I think I gained a good 4 tenths of a volt back, though I can't be certain of that from memory, but these concepts have stayed with me through these years.
You're probably way more experienced and know what you're doing comparing and contrasting as many devices as I see you've reviewed, but I haven't watch them all being relatively new to the channel, but could that have some impact on why the solar battery generator is saying a higher output wattage on your usb ports than what your device on the other side is saying it's getting?

Damn, that's a REALLY nice unit, and the price is not bad at all, for what you get. The only thing I don't like is the Li-NMC battery, but it could not be that small or weigh that little if it had a LiFePO4 battery in it. I really like the detachable trolley kit. Bummer that the PD port isn't really 100w.

I've been comparing this to the BLUETTI AC200P with a LiFePO4 battery, which would be my other favorite in the same power and price neighborhood. It might be worth considering that with the greater overall power capacity, the Pecron is not such a bad choice. Something that isn't being talked about... You have to charge the Bluetti more often to achieve the same volume of power output. Using the Pecron data of 3108wh (2000wh for the Bluetti). 1500 cycles at 3108wh per charge, the Pecron will have produced 4,662,00wh. The Bluetti would have to be cycled 1/3 more times, or 2,331 cycles to achieve the same power output. At that point the Bluetti would be 1,169 cycles away from it's own rated efficiency reduction to 80%. Still better than the Pecron but not by such a wide margin.

Got mine during "indie" campaign for about $0.50/wh and they included cart no charge. First unit bricked after charging. Customer service was thorough and prompt trying to remedy. Ultimately had to return and received replacement within 3 weeks. So far 2nd unit working great. Only thing curious is the charger (or BMS?) doesn't "step down" wattage for last few % of battery like all my other "SoGens". It's 575 til the very end and doesn't shutoff, I have to pull plug. Fingers crossed.
I have 2 of these units and both of them step down when charge is nearly full.

It only missing UPS to be perfect. They just released the E1500 Pro which has UPS, but it's missing LIfePO4 batteries. I really like how sturdy they are. Once they include both features in either model it will hit the nail.

I purchased the E3000 Pecron based on your video for emergency. In the future I’ll need to replace my 3000 watt solar system with 12, 400 watt Full River AGM batteries. They are 10 years old but still charging ok. I need to figure out if I can used my setup with lithium batteries.

I use one of those portable house Air conditioners in my van (on shore power). 8000BTU It's rated at 1800 watts/15A . According to my calculations, it should run on the Oukitel P2001, although not for long. Would be neat to have that option from time to time.... thinking about running with it until i figure out what the long game is for Air conditioning.
If you think that power station is loud, just go ahead and test the ECOflow Delta Max at full discharge! Makes about 63db! LOL Great video :) :) ...watch for quicksand....and hernia! LOL
Oh I know just how loud the EcoFlow's can get especially the smaller ones. When I tested the River it was like a F16 taking off.
Perfect for a self-build weekend camper van setup without an advanced degree in Victon, just take a 100W charger for the laptop

hmmm... I was thinking this would be GREAT for a van where you were running the usual electronics and perhaps an induction burner. Honestly, vans are limited on room and this just fits the bill... but the little Fibonacci regarding the USB power outputs makes it a no-go. How can I even trust their two-year warranty if they're going to Fib on that?

I take it that it does not come close to the 4,000 watt surge since it stopped at 2,100 during the heat gun test. Also, I enjoy your videos they are very informative. Keep up the good work. I hope you get a chance to review the E2000 and E1500 from Pecron. Especially since the E2000 will have the add on power banks like Bluetti has implemented.
Pretty sure the surge has to be really brief, like when a fridge condenser comes on an spikes, then drops back down.

I have had this unit awhile based on this videos results and am now testing solar panels with the generator discharged to 70%. I paid up for two BougeRV 200w CIGS flex panels and wasn't happy with the output. I did not have a benchmark so I bought two Renogy Black Mono 100w flex panels to compare. My findings were just as disappointing. The BougeRv "latest technology" were marginally 1% better.
With the two BougeRv Yuma BIGS 200w in series I test 58.1v at 7.21a which result in 418w watts. When I connect them to the Pecron via the supplied aviation 5 pin, I see an input of around 180watts or a loss of 238w (56.94%). Per your video charging test, the display shows a close wattage input (only about 4% loss) per your testing devices when calculating its volts x amps.
When I plug the supplied AC charger (42v x 15a = 630w) in the 110v wall outlet, the display reads 550w or 80w (12.7%) loss. I have tested both charging ports with the same results. Am I missing something here?

I forwarded your question to our engineer for consultation, his response is: It is very likely that the influence of the sunlight factor, because your solar panel is flexible may not support, irradiation angle also very affect the charging power. (You can also try parallel connection, charging efficiency will be higher if parallel connection, or two solar panels are inserted into different ports for charging at the same time)
About our AC charger, it is the upper limit of 600W, in about 550W is normal, generally 540W to 570W fluctuations.

I guess they are saying efficiency is higher with higher amperage. However with TWO flex panels I cannot run them in parallel due to the minimum voltage require by the charge controllers as seen in this video. Does anyone else have results of charging this battery with solar panels?

I just had to RMA my AC200P because the 8mm barrel plug got too hot and caused the female end to sink into the frame, so the charger no longer connects properly.

I know that if anyone can...you can either find... or develop a good way to cool a laptop in a car. I am looking for some kind of cooling where I can leave my laptop or other sensitive electronics in the car for long periods in the summer enclosed. I thought about a refrigerator...so not to rule that out but it needs to not get too cold....but something that can be efficient off of solar or DC. If it has a heating function...even better for deep cold.
Just open a window/sunroof?

Even if opening a window would help the heat in high heat areas of the country...(which it doesn't, and why would I leave an open window with a laptop in it 🙄) the question is about cooling electronics in scorching summer weather. I do leave my car and want to make sure the laptop doesnt get damaged. Those platforms with small fans do not take care of the heat problem inside high heat cars during summer. I could get away with some sort of cooling fans for the car windows, but I have only seen one manufacturer and they are not responding from China. Maybe this is more of a leeway into a show idea where you address cooling an rv and car using solar and or portable generator. I have been trying to find practical ways to cool my SUV which is a coverted camper when not running and parked. It gets super hot in the summer. Thanks.
@@resonancewaves9659 Well, I lived in a vehicle for nearly 4 years and I had all my electronics inside + my cat. What I did was put Reflectix in the windows and leave the roof fan on to keep it near ambient inside.
@@HOBOTECH yea I have double sided reflextic window coverings. No sunroof. Live in So Cal. Anything over 77 outside is scorching inside. Even with all the windows down, the electronics overheat with minimal use in anything above 80 degrees outside. Cars get hot and if someone figures this out for car and stealth rv dwelling...that makes a decent product that can work off solar...they will be millionaires. And nothing where you need ice. Not only does it make interiors wet in non humid places, but it is harder to get. There is one product out there..but the reviews are inflated and the price is really high. Doubt it could last on a generator charge. In any regard I know a lot of your viewers are interested in this and what generator makes can hold up to various cooling systems as we enter summer. Thanks

For the USB C outlet, it could be that it only outputs a certain voltage and amps an your laptop is looking for a different combination. Not all USB C outlets can output all the different combinations. I can live with the 1500 cycles but those big honkin' chargers are a deal breaker.
Nope. My laptop charges from every 100w PD port at 100w except this one. Their port is outputting 20v but at 3A instead of 5A which means it's actually a 60w output.

Ok, now I'm really torn between this and the E2000. The 3100Wh capacity is pretty compelling, even if it is lithium-ion, but the E2000 costs about $600 less, has LiFePo batteries, and is expandable... But who knows when their expansion battery will be available, or how much it will cost? I need a new power station yesterday, and I have a feeling the addition of the expansion battery will add another $1,000-$1,200 to the total price.

I suspect a higher voltage demand than a 19-21v laptop may allow a 4A delivery from a PD port that is advertised for 100W. Many will delivery 4A @15v for example yet will deliver 4A @25v. These are approximate demand requirements and figures, your demand and results will vary.

This laptop charges from EVERY 100w PD port I've ever tried except this one. Power Delivery is a standard. If it's PD 100 it should output 20v@5A period.
You've used that laptop before with 100W being delivered, good to see. Perhaps protocols are missing in some PD's. Seems glitchy if not overadvertised.

Given that you have the Pecron S1500F and now the E3000.... if you were going to spend the $$$ yourself, would you buy two of the 1500's or one of the 3000's? Given that the 1500's have a 2000 charge cycle life vs the 1000 charge cycle life on the 3000... Obviously that may heavily depend on what you would be using them for. Myself, I'd use them to run my refrigerator/chest freezer during power outages. Curious as to your thoughts on this, given that the cost would be very similar for the 2 vs 1. Does the cycle life even factor into a decision like that for you? Thanks in advance for a great channel. Wishing you the best.
