How come nothing in the south so far? Forget everything else. Have they made the Mumbai - Bangalore a double track broad gauge? I remember the days when Mumbai - Delhi took some 16 hours where as Mumbai Bangalore although only about 70% the distance in comparison took almost 24 hours.

Sadly, DMK, Congress and other southern parties refused to allow the DFCs to continue downwards, same as with the other plans introduced by Central. We the people have to push for it!!
There is a plan for South like Diamond quadrilateral DFC similar to Vajpayee's highway project. However, I doubt TN, Kerala would play ball with Central government.

Govt doing fencing of all routs. This will stop animals entering on tracks.
But the concern is govt. can't control other peaceful animals. This animals throw stones on trains also.

Northeast region is still neglected from DFC.
They don't have much heavyweight industry. However, a branch line can be opened to move goods in and out of NE so that those places are not completely cut-off in case floods decide to mess with the older tracks
@@abhishankpaul Oil industry is very important for the economy of Assam. Assam has 4 Oil Refineries. 3 from Indian Oil and 1 NRL. Oil India also has its plants, so as NRL. You can't ruled out the Oil Industry and Tea Industry of Assam. DFC can be extended upto atleast Guwahati. I am not talking about other hilly states of Northeast.

You, we, us need to understand we can't simply compare ourself with China, We have massitve corruption, our infrastructure starts collapsing as it is build, I am from Punjab, most infrastrcture like Over bridges etc built looks like are built by people who are just learning how to be a construction worker, bricklayer etc. Indian can't neither build or maintain infrastrcture go and see realities.
