The section in WB was planned on Public Private Property basis. Looking at Mamta's non-cooperation, DFCCIL decided to use existing track, this was indeed a smart move, since EDFC was not a double-stack container line, like WDFC.

This project is very important and should be prioritized. Any big manufacturing firms investing and coming in India will be extremely benefitted with this dedicated freight corridor with no hindrance and no traffic.

that coastal dfc is stupid in my opinion , its already coastline water transportation is cheaper over there why you want rail project to compete with sagar mala ? and also dfc would fail there as the whole coastal region only have mining and that can be easier to ship with ships rather than trains ...... i don't know why it is being made as a suboptimal solution to problem that doesn't exist , also why is the second one from itarsi ? better would be indore , pithampur as those are manufacturing giants rather than itarsi
Reason is simple that railways is more environment friendly and one train can remove atkeast 20 trucks off the road. Secondly, there is nothing called enough. It was never enough and future has to be considered while building today. Even if there is manufacturing growth if2%, the roads won’t even be enough.
