#Sony24105F4G #Sony24105 #SonyA7III - Jak na to + styl
I have 24-70 F2.8, 24-105 F4, 16-35 F4, 70-200 F4 and 55 F1. 8, However as a Hybrid shooter, this 24-105 F4 Lens is 90 percent live in my camera body. it is quite sharp, but not the sharpest. The OSS is good for my video work.
while everybody need bokeh, an F2.8 or minimum aperture when facing low light, i use high iso on my A7III with fully noise control and no problem with that.
So if you are hybrid shooter, a traveller, or casual video maker.. this lens is Beast.
and when someone comparing with GM Lens, i told him. Come on, even my sons can shoot sharpest when using GM Lens !!!
So Use The Creativity and stop comparing F4 with F2.8 or another GM Lens. I Hate when someone comparing f4 with GM Lens !
Great Video as always. Love it.
I laugh out loud when I read to the part “my son can shoot sharp pictures with GM lens”. I can see the appeal of this lens. I really want to get it before I go to a travel next time. The only thing I am worried about is sony releasing a new model right after I get this one.
I own 2 GM lens (35 and 135). They are so nice to use and they create beautiful bokeh. But theres nothing wrong with other lenses. One don’t always need big aperture and bokeh. Different lenses are meant for different type of photography. I just bought a used tamron 24mm f2.8 for 1/10 of the price of the GMs and I love it. It is so light and easy to use when it comes to street photography. People should consider what they use the lens for before buying them
@@gundamaction1201 regarding low light and bokeh: every cheap 1.8 prime is better than 2.8 zoom 🙂
Sigma 28-70 f2.8 ❤❤❤
I really like how deep you get into different factors that can be spoken "lightly". Just makes me see other reviews in a superficial way. You in the other hand, are able to share your wisdom in it smoothly. EPIC JOB!
Thank you!!!
Love your videos! You are pretty comfortable on camera and don’t try too hard. Get a sense this is just who you are. Makes it fun to watch! ❤
Thank you!!
Very well said about this lens.
Great review brother! I love how not clinically sharp the image is, it has a great creaminess to it.
Exactly!!
That's giving me a good vibe shot!!
Great video Kensei. I've been using the 24-105 F4 G Lens for quite a while now and it became my absolute always on Lens. For me as a Nature Photographer 24-105mm give me the freedom to capture quiet everyting I want. Yes, aperture could be a bit more but for stills where you can use longer exposure and if you don't need Bokeh it's enaugh. When I shoot close up shots I always go up to 105mm which gives me nice Bokeh. Only reasons I am reluctant to upgrade to the 24-70mm GM would be price and the "missing" focal length between 70-105mm.
Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, in the field this lens does pretty much everything!!
It's an excellent lens, love it for landscape and takes very nice portrait at f4 on the long end.
Totally agree!
1 year later and first time watching - instant sub! Thank you!
You should do a comparison between this lens, the Sony 24-70 F2.8 GM2 and the Sony 20-70 F4 G
Love your videos man!
Glad you like them!
Nice content. Well filmed. Great message.
Thanks for watching
this lens is so sharp, lightweight, all around great. my favorite jack of all trade lens ❤
Yes my friend!
That's what I'm talking about!!!
And very expensive.
@@Mr.Monta77 haha true true
I thought I was only one who found that this lens has distinct character (colours, no over-sharpened look), I believe F4 zoom with F1.2/1.4 primes makes most sense. F2.8 is nor here not there. F4 with A7IV or any newer bodies is fine for low light. Only time I liked F2.8 zoom is 70-200.
i am really happy with the Tamron 28-200, for low light 2.8 at 28mm is really good and with 200mm i get also nice bokeh
The tamron is not so good for film makers tho as it's got a variable aperture and no OSS. For these two big differences, I'd stick with the much more versatile Sony 24-105mm.
@@viagensebabados yes for filmmaking i use 35mm 1.8 and 85mm 1.4 for traveling the tamron
@@TheThinFrameGreat setup! Can't go wrong with that 👍👍
Bro tamron 24mm 35mm f2.8 di iii Prime lens review pls
I get a ton of use out of my Sony 24-70 4 for documentary style shooting but would love just a little more reach
This lens seems like it would be a great alternative
I'm under the impression its not as sharp but, oh well
It has both of the versatility and sharpness!
F4 doesn't matter that match depending on cameras!
Hi Kensei, I will be in Osaka next month with my 24-105 F4... Also Wanted to visit Nara... Cant wait to Japan trip
Super exciting!
@@KenseiAkatsu is there any 2nd hand camera & lens shop in Osaka?
Thank you for the review. I've just been shooting with a new F4 G and I'm impressed with the detail. This is good glass, but maybe I got a very good example? I'm shooting with a new a7III. I plan to visit Tokyo soon and I bought this lens for this trip. I think I may use a 35mm FE 1.8 (no G) for night street scenes though. Do you think the F4 G zoom would be good for city night scenes too?
Depends on how bright it is.
But I think this still works well as long as it's just a normal city with lights.
I prefer The Tamron 28-200 . you have f2.8 at 28 mm, you have extra reach 200 mm, It's newer and lighter and have more minimum focus distance, and sharpness is almost same.
I have sony Alpha a6600 camera which i use for cinematic videography and music videos and I'm a little confused which lens to buy whether to buy 24-105mm F4 or the 24-70mm F2.8 GM II?
My video, F4 vs F2.8 will help you
How is this on the 7C II? It’s too big or is it ok?
Great content
Thanks!
Which camera did you use to shoot with sony 24-105 in the video?
I think it was A7III
Hi ..begginer here...iam thinking wich camera and lens buy....what do you think about full frame FE 24-105 mm ( oss and weather sealing) on sony A6600? Im gonna loose píxels and a lot of vignette?
It's gonna be tight a little with that setup.
have you had any issue with the OSS? I watched some video that says they’re having issues. appreciate the reply
No so far
This lens is perfect for me. I got it for 950$ cant complain anything 🤗
That's good!!!
I have an A6100 that I use mainly for landscape & botanical photography when I hike. I'm stuck between this lens and the Sony 18-105. Besides price, which would you recommend? I also considered the Zeiss 16-70 but feel it won't have enough zoom.
This!!
Sony 18-105 is a trash in IQ department comparing to 24-105 ;-)
But on a6100 you will have eq. of 36-150mm
@@pawelmod3292 Yeah with more research it seems like the 18-105 isn't much better than a kit lens and is better suited for Videography. I didn't realize I'd have a cropped focal length when using a ff lens. I ended up getting the Tamron 17-70. For the money it seemed like a great deal. Have seen nothing but great reviews for it. Sample images look super sharp
@@JHOLLY714 good choice. Sony is a good system because of Tamron, Sigma, Samyang, etc…
This lens is on Sony lens road map to update. Should I get this version or wait until the new model of24-105 f4 is released? I’m also considering the 20-70 f4. What do you think?
I’d say, 24-105F4 now!
Waiting is sometimes wasting.
@@KenseiAkatsu Great point!
Ok so then maybe you can help me with my next question. I have the tamron 35-150f2-2.8. It’s amazing! But it’s a bit heavier, which I don’t mind, but if I sell it and get the 24-105, I’ll have some extra cash in my pocket. And f4 doesn’t bother me. For low light I have a 50 1.2 GM. Thoughts on this switch up?
Tamron 28-75 g2 or Sony 24-105? For weddings, sport events and traveling.
Depends on your camera.
If it performs well in a low light situation, 24-105 will be better!
Great video as always Kensei :)
This is the second 24-105 Sony video I watched 😀
Lately I’m playing around with Sony gear and got this 24-105 with an A7III for around 1800$
Selling the A7III for around 1400$ would make this lens a 400$ purchase for me 😀
Since a lot of people want the faster aperture, this lens is quite available on the used market.
Yes exactly!!
Between 24-70 Zeiss and 24-105..which lens more sharpest? Both are F/4, only difference is the length of the lens
Honestly can't say anything cuz I've never compared them side by side...
What about Tamron 35-150 compared to this lens.. what are your thoughts?
This lens fits me better.
I like its color and i's size and weight are better for my current shooting style!
This lens stays on my camera most of the time. It is even sharp enough to use with the A7RV
Is Sony Zeiss 24-70 f4 sharper ? THANKS A LOT MAN!!
Not sure at this moment
Cover it Also For Aps c Sony 18 to 105mm
I think is about the same. I had a6600 + 18-105f4 and now i have a7iv + 24-105f4 and its still the best combo for any situation
Do you prefer the Sony 24-105 or the Tamron G2/Sigma 28-70 f2.8? Trying to decide if to prioritise focal length or aperture. I think the Tamron and Sigma have better IQ too
Honestly I swapped the 24-105 for a Sigma 24-70 F 2.8 + 200$.
I don't regret the decision (kind of), especially since I have a Tamron 70-180.
The regrets I kind of have with the Sigma is, although its good .. its quite heavy and its filter size is a massive 82mm.
But it is an absolute beast for vlogging, portraits, street, landscapes.
The f 2.8 comes in handy for the night street photos and cityscapes. And honestly, its not bad for astro as well.
But I wanted the 24mm vs the 28mm of the Tamron, since that 4mm of width matters especially if you are vlogging.
And I was willing to let go of the 5mm in the longer end, between 70 and 75mm. Because I could take a few steps forward to compensate for that.
imo for video shooting, IQ isnt that of a priority unlike if you're doing stills. Definitely the lenses you mentioned are more than good enough, if you dont use gimbal, the combined in body & lens stabilization is so nice to have. My pick would be pairing the 24-105 with 35 mm / 50 mm prime.
@@sharansrivatsa210 Have you adapted to the heavier weight of the Sigma 24-70?
@@laeicawezlar4417 sorry im a photographer and dont really do much videography. so you'd recommend the 24-105 based on that?
@@darrenhaken yeah I have.. while shooting stills it's a breeze. I don't really do a whole lot of video.
I only feel it sometimes now when I have it on my peak design capture clip on my backpack.
Hi, do you still have that lens? I would like to buy it, I am starting and I have to take photos at graduations and I feel that it would be perfect for the occasion.
No I don't.
But I often rent it for my projects!
Good idea! This lens will work great for you!
@@KenseiAkatsu thanks, I learn a lot for your videos.
What is you prefer between Sony 24-105 or Tamron 28-200 ?
I like Sony 24-105mm better
@@KenseiAkatsu can you tell me more why?
I prefer The Tamron. you have f2.8 at 28 mm , you have extra reach 200 mm, It's newer and lighter and have more minimum focus distance, and they both have similar sharpness
I currently have a Sony 24-105mm f4, Sony 85mm f1.8, Sony 55mm f1.8 and a Sony 28mm f2. I typically use the primes for indoors and low light situations but I struggle with having to move quickly around indoors - especially trying to shoot my toddler. This is why I've been contemplating about getting the Tamron 28-75mm for a standard zoom option that can reduce distracting backgrounds with the 2.8 aperture. However, I can't stop thinking about how very close the Tamron 28-75mm and Sony 24-105mm are in terms of use cases. So I'm also considering getting the Tamron 70-180mm instead so I have a telephoto lens... but I think I will need a standard zoom more often. Selling the 24-105mm is not an option for me for sentimental reasons :p I just realized I don't know my question here is haha! I guess what I'm asking: would I benefit more from getting the Tamron 70-180mm OR the Tamron 28-75mm.
Sounds like getting Tamron 70-180mm is better choice, cuz you already have some primes and 24-105mm.
mark ii coming? they are really pushing the sale of this lens
If so, that's exciting!!
Too dark for me, i prefer 24-70 2.8. Amazing video as always btw
Fair enough!
Lol 1 stop of light and it's too dark? Maybe learn to use a freakin light
Conclusion: It's versatile and reliable AF :)
This is my worst lens in terms of image quality and colour but it should be good such a versatile range , this lens has everything but the most important thing , image quality .
Do you have this lens
With this lens you’ve got to think a bit more. That’s not an excuse, but you still need to think. Nice video
