Seems like the optimal pocket angle to strike. Not 100% but it’s something to do with the pocket

Next challenge idea for Packy versus series: both packy and his opponent have to throw the whole game using a backup ball instead of the normal hook
Slight hook with my spy or a 1 inch pin web tour solid throw a little bit faster . For spy get in between the 2 and 7 and have it nick the pin , while for the 1 inch pin layout send the 2 pin into the 7 and ball deflects and take out the 8

Hi packy thx for the showcase. You recommended the ph reactive on dry lanes, yet here it looks dry and it overhooks quite a bit. im new to bowling.. im really struggling to play on lane conditions like these.
I would say dry but these were dry in the middle 😂😂

Hey I haven't finished the vid yet but if you are serious about not wanting the Helix, let's talk trade or cash. For me that was one of my best & Favorite balls all time. I know a lot of people dislike that ball but it worked for me averaged 225 to 228 with it in most houses. when it goes to the hole it was a gold ball. I have not been able to find a replacement for mine that split in a couple different places...
I have one question because I'm new and I don't do this but why do you use your rag for your spare ball?
LOL, This video reminds me of my old Blue Rhino. No matter what I hated throwing that ball, cause it did only 1 thing, and was basically straight, unless the lanes were stripped, in which case it would out hook all my balls from Storm. But I will give the ball credit, it lasted the longest of every ball I have ever owned. All the others at some point would crack apart after like 3 to 5 years.
I feel like with the newer modern tech, a company (even if only a limited run) should re-visit the idea of the helix. The problem with the old ball is the covers shrank different amounts and now it’s not smooth rolling. I bet a modern helix could be absolutely insane even if only as a fun concept ball

The spare at 2:45 I take my spare ball and aim just barely to the right side (I'm a right handed 2 hand bowler) so the rotation of the ball hits both and then I hope the 2 pin hits the 7.
It said you had a split when the 7 pin fell. You purple hammer won by an extra pin. 😅😂
As a lefty who hooks every shot 2-7-8 exactly like u said hook it down in to the 7 n try to catch the baby 2-7 split n pray it catches 8 also which happens more often than not

Rollin', tonight I brought in my behemoth 6-ball bag and in it was my "worst ball". After throwing a couple and seeing nothing good, I turned to my team and said "if I strike out with this (my worst ball)...something is wrong".... I struck out frame 6 to 10.2 with it..... Team says "should throw your worst one more...we would appreciate it".

Righty 3-9-10, I hook it and cover all three with the ball. Deflection off the 3 to split the 9-10
Im a righty so ill usually try and throw straight or atleast have a little hook on the ball when shooting at the 2-7-8
I'm a 2 hander with a strong backup ball so I typically just backup ball across the lane at it.

In 1996, I threw an 899 in league with a Rhino Pro and Brunswick sent me a few balls including a Quantum. Do not blame Quantum Helix poor performance on old technology. It also only did one thing in 1996 (straight down and in) and was most inconsistent ball I ever threw. The redrilled Rhino Pro that had been owned by 2 other bowlers was 10 times the ball. Biggest difference was that Quantum had to be thrown perfectly and still may not react as expected. Rhino Pro was usable and versatile on most conditions. By the way, I really enjoy the podcast.
Congratulations! You still have the state record! My first reactive ball was the teal Rhino Pro. It was garbage (over/under)on a league shot but I threw 878 with it practicing on a burnt up lane.

that always happens, when you say your really good using this ball then choke, then do the best you ever have with the other.
Purple Hammer = everyday go to ball.
Quantum Helix = Masters, U.S. Open Killer. Predictable, does the same thing every time so it would take those diabolical lane conditions out of the equation and has that great thump going down the lane to distract your opponents! (
