Last night at league I left the 7-10 but the 10 fell late, and just before the rack came down an extremely late messenger came and took the 7 down for a strike. I saw this happening and was pointing for my team to look and when they fell I gave it the Pete Weber crotch chop. It was so awesome.
Fun watching the head-2-head competition! Great effort against a lot of well known, even hall of fame, bowlers. Thanks for bringing us along. It’s going to be a great season!

When I first drilled and used my Gem I thought me and it just didn't get along and for a while I put it up. In the last few months, I got better at reading what a ball can do, how I should use it, as well as studying other aspects of the game. I can say that the Gem is always in my bag now.

I bowled against future PBA pro and 1x Major winner Gary Faulker several times in high school. He was obviously the best youth bowler in the area even as a freshman and was avg 200+ as a junior. I always loved going up against him and bowled some of my best series against him, including my first 600 my sophomore year (I was ~170 avg at that time). Even managed to take a few games off him, my absolute best could compete with his B game. I think he might have struggled a little bit against us bc he is a lefty and we had several lefties on the team (including me) so he had to deal with more oil pattern adjustments than he was used to and we were more used to it playing together all the time.

You should do this whole head to head match play thing every tournament from now on : )
You bowled great! I know that you have to play the conditions that differ on each lane, but it looks like when you used the Gem, you had by far the best pin carry. I only saw one flat 10 out of all the times you threw the Gem. That thing just refused to leave you any corner pins. So, yeah, if it's possible to use the Gem, use it Darren. Skill counts for a lot, but pin carry is real too.

I didn't realize how many games you have to bowl in this tournament. Do you ice your shoulder down like a baseball pitcher after the tournament? What is your off season training (weights, cardio, crossfit etc)? Congrats!

Hello Darren. Was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to handle lanes that are super super dry and I’m a two hander. Went bowling yesterday for the first time in a while and I realize the rust factor is real, but my god the lanes were dry. Like there was no oil showing up on my ball after they came back from the return. I struggle hard with dry lanes. When the lanes are oily it’s so much more forgiving for me. I can make some mistakes and still get near the pocket and have some makeable spares. Thank you for the help

Not sure if you'll answer, but I noticed that you changed balls and adjusted your approach a lot throughout this run, starting in your last frame against Belmo. At what point should I consider a ball change as opposed to moving over a couple boards, decreasing ball speed, etc.? Personally, I never change balls except in extreme scenarios. Just curious on your thoughts. Thanks for the content and good luck in your 2023 year.

Darren is one of my top bowlers. I know you know what's best but just from outside looking in, I think your a little to quick with ball changing. If you stay in that gem more you strike more. Things get hairy when the ball guessing starts. Your the man.....
Have to take risks. Playing safe will never get you to shows.
@@DarrenTang yeah your right. Probably why I lost in my tournament last Tuesday. I bowled two good games with my TnT, but my last four games I couldn't find a good look with it. But kept trying instead of taking a chance with a different ball. Great content as always man and hopefully one day ill have the honor of sharing lanes with you.
If I were there I would have told you to slow the ball speed, which obviously you finally did. You need me man!
