@@patricksmotors9070 No just an old coot with fond memories of skiing in the seventies and eighties. I haven't worn a pair of sticks since Atomic BetaCarv-X was the thing that made everyone else stop dead in their tracks and stare -- I probably wouldn't even know I was looking at a pair of skis, anymore.
Also what dose the resume button do on the javelin ski lift control panel
Resume button is simply the fast button.
I love the behind the scenes of lifts, but im still getting a fairly basic knowledge of them. This leads me into my question of what is a PLC and christmas tree? They sound similar to eachother in your brief description, so if my assunption is correct, what is the difference between them? Thanks! Also, I love your youtube channel. Your videos are really well done and short which is nice as the viewer to get a small glimpse into the day in the life of a lift mechanic.
Thank you so much for watching! The safety circuit of a ski lift is something I want to cover in a future video. Years ago all lifts were analog and relied on a series of relays, a fault would be displayed on a panel with red and green lights (hence Christmas tree) indicating were the fault is. In the last 20 years lifts have gone to plc’s (programable logic centre) that have replaced the relays with a simple computer and faults are now displayed on screen. The only trouble I have is there is not many of the old systems left but I might have a hill with an old chair that still has it.
