Assalamu 'alaykum everyone. Here is a link to a video I made over a year ago refuting the argument that Darth was attempting to make regarding the Qur'an supposedly misrepresenting the Trinity. I could've dealt with it easily, but didn't want to allow Darth to change topics.

Darth's explanation of the trinity sounds a lot like Voltron.
Problems with Darth:
- Thinks reasserting that we talk about God analogically will save him from the LPT
- Thinks that counting by identity presupposes talking about God univocally
- Presents red herrings such as the Quran, the one and the many, TAG-argument
- Just overall belligerent

The funny thing about this convo is the more he tried to explain the more he tied himself up in knots
I think he broke his pen on purpose so he'd have an excuse to take a moment to think.
His whole argument is basically "I can speak 'square circle' therefore it's a non contradictory thing." with some bit of gaslighting.

Darth is basically saying, each person of the godhead is a lesser, incomplete god (small g god) with the trinity being the complete manifestation of God with all attributes unified. If the trinity is the fullness of the divine essence, how can each person of the godhead be fully God and not possess all that there is to God?
Trinitarians will very often put arbitrary limits, unfounded in their texts, when it comes to what applies or not to God, what is similar to Him or not, whenever an aspect of their doctrine reaches a dead end. For example the bible notoriously uses anthropomorphisms, meaning there are similitudes between God and the material world, as well as worldly concepts. We understand many things about God, otherwise we wouldnt know what we are worshiping. Why is the idea of counting God something unfathomable?
He was deliberately using ambiguous and confusing language to conceal the unpleasant contradictions in the trinity from the audience. He even kept cutting you off and tried to change the goalpost.
Darth was playing cool and smart until Jake The Muslim Metaphysician laid out the premises for his argument, then Darth spontaneously melted LOL... May Allah bless you Jake.
He first tried to appeal to a mystery.
The he tried to argue that Jake doesn’t understand it.
Then he tried to argue that the trinity is logical.
He had at least 3 different positions during the discussion.

Sounded to me like he was trying to say that the Father is divine (lower case "g" god), the Son is divine (god), and the Holy Spirit is divine (god) and all three of them make up parts of the Trinity which is the only true God. He tried to avoid that language, but I don't see any way around that, other than saying there are four Gods, which obviously he kept denying.

Because for the first 300 years after the death of Jesus, the co-equality between the father and the son was non existent and there's not a single church's father that says that the father and the son are co-equal. The concept of the trinity was only instituted in the Council of Nicea year 325 A.D. by a Roman emperor Constantine who himself was a Mithras. Christians have adopted certain ways of speaking about the doctrine of the trinity which satisfies their minds and which they think gets them around the logical, scriptural, and historical arguments against the doctrine. And they fall into the habit of simply restating or re-explaining the doctrine and then take this as an argument for the doctrine.

Even if we (argumentatively) concede that God can have various manifestations, those manifestations need to retain his full characteritics at all times, thus remaining in the realm of the spiritual and the abstract. As you know, association is not limited to giving the title of God to another being. If someone asks for forgiveness from Marry and pray to her like many Christians do to "assumed" pictures and status, is considered association by Quranic definition. If one can't admit 1+1+1=3, he'll never admit simple things, like the Quran refutes different ideologies and not only the doctrine of 21st century Christianity. I wish you have put a closure at the end, to refute his old argument, just not to let it like it is an answered, or difficult argument for unaware viewers.

Love is not a person, to use it as an analogy to 3 persons in 1 person
He simply indirectly rejecting trinity. What he has or model is unified God. Because he explain the God simply gives his creations or allow creations posses his divine attribututes. So if god change his mind and decided quickly get back his attributes from someone or whoever posses it. Then that he is no longer god. Also which means the God only allow his attributes to be barrow by his creations to make them temporarily god. He sounds more like what Muslim believe in. He just cant figure it out due to the influence of denial or ignorance about Islamic belief.
