Also you dont know the history of that helmet, the previous owner may have dropped it without having much damage on the outside but on the inside there may be damage.

For everyone questioning the safety, he used tools and processes consistent with what factories do to make this exact same helmet in its carbon version. I know it's not tested and he should never sell it - he probably has no intention of ever doing it as multiple lawsuits would income very quickly - but this is probably even safer than what he started with. There is A LOT of overlay between the carbon fiber sheets, so the helmet would never split in half. Also he used the original padding, which is certified. The engineering is preserved by his moulding technique. He could take this to a track and he would be as protected, if not more, than someone using for instance a cheap SA2020 helmet.

There is real science and engineering behind making a helmet safe. Especially for a company like Arai. This is nothing more than a show piece that should never be used for anything other than sim racing.

I'm not sure anyone would argue it, but I don't know if this can technically be certified. Unless you're racing at the higher levels, I doubt anyone would question it. I'm sure it would pass if it was to be certified.

@@Jeffball610 It'd never pass any certification with a seam down the middle. Helmets are made seamless for a reason. Many times has a helmet been hit and split down the middle on older tech. Thats why no one makes helmets that have a seam down the center, carbon fiber or not.
