    Hi Elg
    Love your videos, just wondering where you got the inlet pipes from and what size they are as mine is running rough and I expect it’s a split rubber.
    Thanks
    Adolfo

      @ElginLim  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi Adolfo,
      I think the size is 54mm ID.
      Usually you measure the outside then subtract 8mm should be the ID as rubber walls are usually about 4mm.
      I bought a whole length to cut, but I think you can get from AliExpress precut to the exact length. The length to cut is 45mm. Very short.

    LOL, it does not get any more accessible than that. On most cars it is on the engine block itself, and not as easy to reach. I am glad it is so easy on 2.2 JTS, because I will be buying that engined car in a few months.
    I would maybe aslo clean or replace the hose. Although you would need new clamps.

      Yes, it is one of the most easiest fix on the 2.2 JTS of the 159. Hope you have fun when you buy it!

      @@ElginLim Too bad original ones are not available. The aftermarket ones have shorter spring, so I used the old spring instead. And the aftermarket membrane has a hile in the center part while original one does not.

    Scusa una domanda su quei manicotti rossi dell'ispirazione. Li hai cambiati tu? Perché mi aspirano e non riesco a trovarli

      Hello,
      Thanks for watching my videos!
      Yes, I have changed the induction rubber sleeves to red silicone ones. They are silicone hoses that I have cut to the correct length.
      You may be able to buy them from Aliexpress. The internal diameter is 57mm if I remember correctly.

    Hello, I also noticed in the video that you used silicone trunks for the air pipes, you cleaned it from the inside, you took the old ones away, and you just put the new red ones, is it somehow shaped on the inside? , I'm just now dealing with it, thank you in advance for your positive answer.

    • @ElginLim
      @ElginLim  Před rokem

      Hi Lukas, there are just normal silicone hoses that i cut to length.
      Yes, the inside is contoured to a oval shape but it is very hard to find an exact fit. So normal hose will do, they function just as well.

    Hi! Have you any idea that in the house of the pcv is full of fuel and from the pipe is coming fuel when the engine is running. (I think from the oil carter). Thanks for your answer!

    • @ElginLim
      @ElginLim  Před rokem +1

      Hi Ricsi,
      The PCV container housing is connected directly to the engine top cover as you can see. What you see is mostly oil mist or oil that the engine vents out. There should not be any fuel.
      If there is fuel or fuel smell, then the blow-by from your pistons maybe very great. You should have your piston rings check. I don’t know the history of your car, maybe you can tell me more.

      @@ElginLim It was an injection valve failure. It could not close properly, so the fuel always flowed into the cylinder. The fuel filled the oil tank (carter) and went up to the pcv.

    So is basically a catchCan? I opened mine and found almost clean oil. I guess is right.

    • @ElginLim
      @ElginLim  Před 2 lety

      It’s not really a catch can cos it lets the oil back into the engine…lol

    Hi elg how's it going? did you do some compression test? in case you did do you remember how many psi should a used 2.2 should have?

      Hi David,
      I forgot to review the comments again!
      Sorry for the long reply but have not done a compression test.
      The car runs fine so there is no reason to do it.
      Cheers!

    I think mine is split or broken did you have any idle issues with yours before you changed it? And how much was the part second hand and new? thanks ohh and I subscribed too ☺️

      Hi Jordan! Thank you so much for subscribing!
      No idle issues but just hissing sound but on warm up in the morning, it is not so stable. Once warmed up is fine.
      Original is quite expensive about £50-70, but you can get from AliExpress for much much cheaper. You can buy similar that fits bmw, there are similar. If you can’t find let me know, I try to find the link that I bought from.

      When I bought this, it was around S$10. Now it has gone mad.
      Try looking for the same one on aliexpress or other online shops.

      Hi Sorinn, there were no misfires, but idling is slightly off and fuel consumption was slightly higher. And there was this hissing sound.

    Hi. Do you know how to move timing cover?

    • @ElginLim
      @ElginLim  Před 2 lety

      The timing cover is on the side of the engine and 159 is running timing chains so don’t have much to look at. Unless you are taking about the rocker cover which the spark plugs and coil pack have to be remove first before the cover can be unbolted.

    Hi, is this valve acting like a catch can ? .

    • @ElginLim
      @ElginLim  Před 2 lety

      Not really…which is why the oil will go back into the engine and gunk up the intake valves.
